A Masterclass in Inefficiency and Predatory Service Practices
I would give zero stars if it were an option. My experience at City Buick Chevrolet Cadillac GMC has been an absolute nightmare of poor scheduling, non-existent communication, and what feels like an attempt to exploit customers for exorbitant fees.
I arrived for a 7:30 AM scheduled appointment for an oil change and to address a cruise control issue that, interestingly, only started malfunctioning immediately after my last service here in January. While I’m not saying they did something wrong during that visit, it is a very strange coincidence that a perfectly functional system began failing the moment it left their shop.
Despite being there first thing in the morning, my vehicle sat untouched for over eight hours. I had to initiate every single follow-up myself throughout the day. It wasn't until 4:00 PM—nearly a full work day later—that I was finally told they "did an initial diagnostic" but couldn't find the issue.
While they charged me $105 for the oil change (which was fine), they also charged $199++ for a "diagnostic" that provided zero value. I wasn't even given a full diagnostic report; instead, I received high-level notes that simply repeated the exact symptoms I had already explained to them when I dropped the car off. At this point, I’m not even sure a proper diagnostic was actually performed.
To make matters worse, the "solution" they offered was a $399 "detailed diagnostic" fee and a demand to keep my car over the entire weekend. They want to charge me double the standard rate to find a problem they were too disorganized to even look at during my actual appointment window.
There was zero urgency or empathy from the staff regarding the delay they caused. They seem perfectly content to let customers incur mounting rental car costs while they "guess" at a fix they can't even guarantee. If you value your time, your money, or your sanity, stay far away from this service department. They take appointments they have no intention of keeping and then try to bill you for their own lack of productivity. Unprofessional management and a total lack of accountability.
