We had a great experience from start to finish. Bilal was our salesperson and was excellent to work with. There was never any pressure to buy, and he was always friendly, professional, and easy to communicate with. If he didn’t know the answer to one of our questions, he was upfront about it and got us the correct information right away. He also helped us find a truck that had features we weren’t originally looking for, and it ended up being a much better fit than what we had planned. Ethan, the used vehicle sales manager, was just as great to deal with. He was straightforward, honest, and made the whole purchase process easy. We didn’t work directly with the new vehicle sales manager, but when we asked about buying a brand new truck identical to the used one, we appreciated that he didn’t try to steer us in that direction. Instead, they all agreed the used truck was the better value and even offered to show us a new one so we could compare for ourselves. They were right. We ended up with a practically new truck with only 5,000 km that was exactly what we wanted. When we first looked at and test drove the truck, it was pouring rain. Because of that, we missed a small broken piece during the inspection. We brought it up after all the paperwork was signed and after taking delivery, and Ethan didn’t hesitate. He immediately said they would replace it. Overall, this was the best vehicle buying experience we’ve had, even better than when we bought our Volvo from the Volvo dealership. Everyone was honest, straightforward, and genuinely interested in helping us make the right decision rather than just making a sale. They stood behind what they sold, they’ve definitely earned our future business, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. The guys upstairs were also great to deal with. Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Misrepresentation of Vehicle Condition and Unfulfilled Commitments I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent vehicle purchase from your dealership. Before purchasing the vehicle, I was assured by the sales representative (Tarun Mander) that the remote starter was fully functional and would work as promised. This assurance was an important factor in my decision to proceed with the purchase. Unfortunately, after taking possession of the vehicle, I discovered that the remote starter did not work. Since then, I have made multiple attempts to have this issue resolved through your dealership. I have requested to be contacted by the dealership manager on several occasions, expecting the matter to be addressed in good faith. Instead, I encountered a lack of cooperation and no meaningful effort to resolve the problem. Despite repeated requests, the issue remains unresolved. I was told that the dealership manger “Randy” would resolve the issue only if he wants to. In addition to the remote starter issue, the vehicle detailing that was promised before delivery was not completed to an acceptable standard. The vehicle was not properly cleaned or prepared for delivery, which was disappointing given the expectations set during the sales process. Furthermore, the delivery of the vehicle was delayed beyond the agreed-upon possession date, causing unnecessary inconvenience. Despite these delays, the dealership failed to ensure that the vehicle was delivered in the condition that had been promised. My overall experience has left me feeling that the dealership made commitments to encourage the sale but failed to honor those commitments afterward. Throughout this process, I have found the dealership's conduct to be misleading and disappointing. In my experience, promises were made to secure my business, but they were not fulfilled once the sale was completed. Rather than working collaboratively to resolve legitimate concerns, I encountered resistance and a lack of accountability. I believe I purchased this vehicle based on representations that were not accurate and on commitments that were ultimately not honored. The combination of the non-functional remote starter, inadequate detailing, delayed possession, and the dealership's unwillingness to address these issues has significantly undermined my confidence in the dealership and its customer service. I respectfully request that the dealership honor its commitments by repairing the remote starter at no cost to me, addressing the deficiencies in the vehicle's delivery, and providing an appropriate resolution for the inconvenience and disappointment I have experienced. If this matter cannot be resolved promptly and fairly, I will have no choice but to pursue other avenues, including filing complaints with the appropriate consumer protection agencies and sharing my experience with other potential consumers. It is important for everyone to be on their toes before going to this store because if you are not careful, you will get ripped off. We were going well with Jass, the salesman, but when we indicated that we needed to leave and discuss the next day, the manager Salman Mansuri showed up and used his words and tactics to force us to agree and sign a letter of intent and pay a prepayment that was non-refundable and so so so small word that we didn't even notice it, and the staff didn't give us any indication of it. When we went back to check the price and the monthly fee on their website, other store and Mazda's website, we realized the difference was very big based on the same conditions. The next day we went to his store to question it and this manager kept covering with other things and stalling. After long time waiting and at our repeated request, they gave us the calculation in front of the computer in person, and then told us that maybe they had made a mistake in their system, and they would be willing to give us a discount. And at that point we needed to leave and they were going to do it the same way again. It made us feel like we were being cheated and duped. And the whole negotiation process made me as a consumer very uncomfortable and feel oppressed. We are afraid to proceed with the rest of the transaction with them. We would like to terminate and return our deposit. We informed the head office about what happened but got no response.

In July 2026, I purchased a 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz from sales rep Audi Kropp and manager Cory Cooper. They assured me the vehicle was in "very good condition" with a passed Certified Pre-Owned / Mechanical Fitness Assessment. What followed was a complete failure of safety and basic consumer fairness: 1. Severe Undisclosed Defects & Inspection Failure: After driving the vehicle 600 km home to Saskatchewan, it immediately failed its SGI Out-of-Province safety inspection. The radar sensor was literally held on by a plastic zip-tie, the lower engine splash shield was missing, wheel alignment failed, and a front winter tire had a dangerous sidewall bulge. When the truck was shipped back to Edmonton, Southtown Hyundai’s own service department confirmed over $6,700 in required repairs, including a complete transmission replacement due to leaking case halves. 2. Customer Service Failures & Delays: We agreed on a 10:00 AM pickup on Saturday so the vehicle would be detailed and ready. When we arrived after traveling 5.5 hours, the vehicle was not ready until after 1:00 PM (handled by JP). The rushed cleaning left the interior damp with wet stains, and Kal Tire staff pointed out that a waxy spray was applied directly to the brake discs. Multiple cosmetic damages (door/bed scratches, windshield crack, cracked bumper, blurry backup camera) were also never disclosed prior to our trip. 3. Shortchanged on Contract Unwind: Sales Manager Cory Cooper agreed to unwind the purchase contract and reimburse my direct out-of-pocket expenses ($3,043.21). However, the e-transfer sent fell short by $664.72. Beyond denying travel meals and pet boarding, his math contained an additional $230.74 unexplained accounting error. When I asked for an itemized written breakdown of how his figure was calculated, Cory Cooper flatly refused over the phone, stating he was "done emailing." 4. Active Relisting of Defective Inventory: Despite knowing this vehicle requires a full transmission replacement and $3,000+ in safety and radar repairs, Southtown Hyundai has already relisted the exact vehicle back on their website for public sale at original price (STK : PW2153, VIN : 5NTJEDAF4RH100121). An official AMVIC complaint has been filed regarding these practices. Document every interaction and get everything in writing if you deal with this store.
