I have had ongoing headaches for 3 years with the sales... - tw
I have had ongoing headaches for 3 years with the sales department. Specifically, Bruce Palin. Avoid sales and Bruce at this location. Bruce is a very self-centered salesman focused on telling you how many times he has been number one in sales monthly/yearly and his phenomenal business journey throughout his life. Bruce does not care about the customer at all and just wants to make a quick sale. He is a quicker talker with hollow promises.
I was new to buying vehicles via dealerships 3 years ago. I bought a used vehicle from Bruce and within a year I realized it did not fit my lifestyle. Bruce told me to come back and we can figure out some options. He basically had the fastest appointment with me to get me in a new 2019 Escape. He promised since I was buying a new car this day that he would make sure that I wouldn't owe anything for the Focus from last year as a nice gesture. When going through the paperwork he breezed through it stating the price was so much higher due to taxes, deliver fees, 3M, maintenance, etc. I later realized, fault of my own in missing this, he had tacked on around $8000 for outstanding on the Focus. I let this go due to my own fault of not thoroughly checking things over, but I felt pressured and made to sound unreasonable for wanting to be sure of fees. (I already know the response from Marlborough will be "anything outstanding is through finance not sales or Bruce. Well then talk to Bruce about his promises or walk the talk, Bruce. Work for your customer or don't open your mouth to things you can't promise).
This past week Bruce reached out again as it had been two years since my Escape purchase. Once again, promising he could get me a great deal on a new 2021 Escape SE. Quite the upgrade from my current Escape S! I agreed to come in to meet as I hoped this would bring back some faith. Once again, Bruce Palin was a disappointment. I showed up early and he was more concerned about his "coffee and ice water" than working with me. I offered him time to prepare as I was early, he declined. However, again appeared to complain he hadn't had his coffee. Long story short, he did not even look into my vehicle prior to the meeting. Had no idea what my outstanding balance was and said he couldn't do a thing for me. This meeting was focused on Bruce's health concerns, how great a salesman he is, and his past business ventures. Another major aspect of the professionalism received by Bruce was work complaints. Apparently, Marlborough has new owners and this has changed management. Bruce complained about having "to do things the proper way" and fill out so much paperwork now instead of doing it his way on the computer for faster results. Again "faster results" means fast sale and less time dealing with a human being. Likely explains why Bruce's service is extremely misleading. Also, who complains to a customer about their boss? That builds even less trust with a company when an employee complains.
The overall car talk was 15 minutes, while the hour and 45 minutes was about Bruce. He was focused on selling himself as a salesman and not selling cars. If this is how a salesperson thinks rapport is built then Marlborough is far off the mark. I left more frustrated than ever.
I contacted the sales manager and explained similar to him. I got the blanket apology and "we will be sure to sit down and talk with Bruce". Bruce will easily brush this off due to his personality and demeanor and continue poor customer care. I had also stated that I will no longer being doing sales with Marlborough and requested not to be contacted in the future for sales. The manager seemed to disregard all important concerns, likely skimmed the email, and said that he would keep an AWD Escape on his radar for me. If things were important I feel like more work could be done to keep customers happy. I expect nothing from these guys. Want a headache go here, otherwise avoid this dealership. I know I am, as a friend from another dealer is working to get me out of this headache ASAP.
New owners or not, Marlborough is a lost cause.

Took my daughters 2018 Ecosport in and my 2018 F150 in for a service appointment. They never mentioned they were going to do a tire rotation as well. My daughter had brand new tires put on the night before that ended up getting rotated and then they rotated my F150's that I did personally less than 10000kms ago? They just go by the computer and don't measure wear stated the service advisor? Also, my Fuel lug nut adapter key went missing for my rims? No support to get me one so I ended up getting support from KAL tire in Lloydminster for a $15 dollar charge...better than having my tires fall off. Make sure when you drop your vehicle off you ask if they plan on doing anything else even if its warranty or up for service. I will from now on

I took my 2014 Edge in to Boundary for oil change and winter tires. While it was in the dealership they performed an inspection and discovered that a tie rod end needed replacing. Miles managed to make that happen while my vehicle was still in at Boundary that day. He also made sure that the Shuttle driver was able to get me to work on time and pick me up at the end of the day. Great service! Thanks

Phoned to book an appointment because my thermostat was shot. Told them to check the passenger window it was not working. That cost 295.00 and they didn't replace the thermostat or fix the window. had to wait for them to order one from Edmonton. I could of got one at Canadian tire. Brought it back to get it changed out and that cost over 300.00. So basically about 600.00. Complete rip off. They have a xxxx of a racket going on there. Don't recommend them at all.

Bought a used WRX back in June/July. First - the salesperson I did the test drive with filled it up with midgrade. Second - headlight was out and didn't offer to fix. Third - and my favourite - check engine light came on, did diag and cleared code. Came back in and they shrugged. Told me to go to Subaru (turns of all the aftermarket parts where taken off and it wasn't retuned), when I came back looking to resolve it where I bought it they were no help. The conversation ended with a You bought it. They were super amazing until I had that issue. Just go somewhere else and save yourself the trouble. Any other dealership I've been to would haven went out of their way. I just spent 40 grand. Super disappointed.
I'm the maintenance manager for a company that has over... - Coil Life
I'm the maintenance manager for a company that has over 100 leased Ford pick up trucks in our fleet. This dealership has by far the worst service department I have ever dealt with. Do yourself a favour and take your vehicle across the city to Hansen Ford for service work. I had an F350 serviced here in August of 2020. Several months later the operator of the truck complained about low power while pulling a trailer. We had the operator check to ensure the air filter wasn't plugged with dirt. To our surprise there wasn't an air filter in the housing. We pulled the invoice from the oil change done by Windsor a few months earlier and saw that the air filter was changed at the last service. Clearly they had forgotten to actually install the air filter. I contacted Windsor Ford and had the truck towed to them from Fox Creek. They inspected the vehicle and said there was nothing wrong with it and said that we must have removed the air filter from the unit. They also stated that they had video footage of their technician installing an air filter in the unit. I asked to see this video footage that they claim they had. I immediately knew I had caught them in a lie. Suddenly there was technical difficulties, the video couldn't be viewed, moments later they said you couldn't actually see them installing the air filter, but you could see their tech throwing away an air filter sized box. They still wouldn't show me the video after this. I ended up taking the vehicle to another Ford dealer that I trust, luckily the engine passed the crankcase pressure test, but the turbo was dusted. Which I had to pay for out of pocket. Because of Windsor Fords lack of accountability I will be taking the $100K/year I spend on services and repairs in Grande Prairie to Hansen Ford.

Really bad stealership , will make all sorts of promises & re-neg on all of them. Will hound you mercilessly on your phone with sales & service calls , & if you block that number they just use another line.
Booked an oil change for 9 am , at 5 pm they call & want to keep the truck overnight , FOR A SIMPLE OIL CHANGE ???
Seriously , DO NOT CONSIDER this stealership , will take you a long time to get the bad taste outta your mouth

Worst service I have ever received! They will try to dupe... - Jwilkins102
Worst service I have ever received! They will try to dupe you in the lease documents, saying one thing and agreeing, but putting something entirely different in the contract. They even tried to change the lease agreement after it was signed for mileage. My vehicle came without a roof rack once ready even though I asked for it, and I had to argue for a rental vehicle while they put the already paid for items on my vehicle. I had my brakes “fixed” but within a few days the same noises were back and no one will even call me back to service the vehicle. Overall WORST PLACE EVER!!! Maclin Ford however, is wonderful! Quick service, friendly people and good advice. No one will try to dupe you there! Worth the drive- they even provide Ubers to their customers to get to work (Metro will give you a ctrain ticket if you ask)

I purchased a year old truck from Maclin, sight unseen... - JP
I purchased a year old truck from Maclin, sight unseen delivered on a semi to my door. The truck arrived with no floor matts in it, interior wasn't as clean as it should be, windshield was chipped in half a dozen spots (the Sales Rep had told me it was brand new), and it had 38,000 KM on it, (the bill of sale displayed 31,000 KM). The Sales Rep also assured to me that the truck was fully inspected and will pass an out of province safety, which it didn't due to aftermarket tires and a lift kit that was deemed unsafe for the road; along with the damaged windshield. Maclin reimbursed me for the windshield and floor matts, along with a PST reimbursement because Maclin originally charged me PST, but didn't document it properly on the Bill of Sale with a PST number, resulting in me paying ~$3,000.00 in tax an additional time before I could insure the vehicle. I was responsible for the necessary repairs in order to insure and plate the year old truck. The truck had been purchased from Maclin with emissions modifications which I was aware of, aftermarket exhaust and tuning. The Sales Rep (Ali Al-Shimari) assured factory warranty was still remaining even with the modifications; I had written evidence of this and this was the only reason I purchased the truck (who wants a year old truck with invalid warranty?) When I spoke with James Fyles, the General Sales Manager, and provided the evidence for the factory warranty guarantee he denied his employee's statement. James offered a free oil change, but after calling and emailing him multiple times, I never got a response back in order to use this. This dealership has very poor communication skills, I called the dealership multiple times a week in order to try and get things resolved; it was a fight and all I got was a windshield and floor matt reimbursement (which should have been included originally). Dozens of emails and voicemails went unanswered. I would avoid Maclin unless you want a headache, all they care about is making money on the sale.
