Do NOT take your car to this dealership for service. I took my perfectly functioning Civic to Olympic Honda for a fuel pump recall and they ruined my car. The engine light continued to come on for 8 months after the recall, despite me taking it back to them twice to fix it. I ended up having to pay $1000 out-of-pocket to a mechanic to replace the brand new fuel pump that Olympic Honda replaced just months earlier.

I am extremely disappointed in the service I’ve received over the past month at Kanata Honda. While I appreciate that they provide an Uber/taxi while a car is in service, good customer service must go far beyond offering transportation. I initially brought my vehicle in for what I believed were recall-related issues. Instead of checking for recalls first, the service advisor immediately warned me that I would be charged for diagnostics if no recall codes appeared—even though I had already completed diagnostics in London, Ontario and provided them with the codes. In my experience, when a vehicle has a recall concern, diagnostics should not come at a cost. Thankfully, the codes confirmed two recalls, so I wasn’t charged. I was told the recall repairs were a “big job” requiring the transmission to be removed. While the car was in their shop, I received a call informing me that they had accidentally damaged another part during the transmission removal. They assured me that they would replace the damaged part at no cost. When I picked up my vehicle a few days later, everything seemed fine—until the next day when I discovered fluid leaking all over my driveway. I called Kanata Honda, returned the vehicle, and was later told the issue was resolved and that a seal had been replaced. The following day, the leak returned. I brought the car back yet again. After keeping it for a longer period this time, they finally called to say the repair would cost me around $1,300, claiming the leak was due to “wear and tear” because my vehicle is “old.” My vehicle is not even 10 years old, and as someone who has owned multiple Hondas throughout my life (Prelude, Civic, CR-V, and now a Pilot), I chose Honda for its reputation of durability. If major parts begin to fail before 10 years, that’s deeply concerning—and certainly not the standard Honda claims to uphold. I made it clear that my car was not leaking at all when I first brought it in. Their response? “We don’t know that it wasn’t.” But the vehicle was in their shop for days, lifted, with the transmission removed. If a leak existed before the repair, they would have seen it and notified me—yet no one mentioned any such issue. Both service staff I spoke with gave vague and inconsistent explanations and were unable to clarify why the leak suddenly appeared only after their work. They could not “make me understand what the problem was,” nor could they confirm whether the vehicle had any leak prior to the initial service. Logically, if the car was on a hoist and the transmission was removed and sitting on the bench, any existing leak should have been obvious. Yet I was made to feel as though I simply “didn’t understand mechanics,” rather than being provided with a clear and honest explanation. At this point, I have serious trust issues with Kanata Honda. The situation feels dishonest and unsettling, and I’m left unsure how to move forward or who will actually fix the problem they caused. My advice: If you value transparency, honesty, and peace of mind, take your vehicle to a different Honda service centre. My experience at Kanata Honda has been incredibly frustrating and expensive—and I would not recommend them based on this service.

In this age of computers, all they are willing to do is look at a computer screen instead of calling the person who inputs the data in order to get a firm date.

Due to the demand for this vehicle there were multiple interests the day it was traded but Sunil kept his word and waited for me to make the decision to buy first - even though I was 4 hours away. He spent a lot of his personal time explaining what features it had and how I could trade in my wife’s current 4 runner. Very pleased with the purchase and this dealership’s salesman Sunil. My experience with Vladyslav Kononenko, a sales consultant at Toronto Honda, was extremely disappointing and honestly unacceptable. From the start, his attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. It felt like there was zero interest in actually helping a customer—just arrogance and poor communication. What made it worse was the strong impression that his behavior was biased. As someone from a diverse background, I could not ignore how differently I was treated, and it came across as discriminatory. No customer should ever be made to feel uncomfortable or disrespected because of who they are. This kind of conduct reflects very poorly on the dealership as a whole. If this is the level of professionalism being tolerated, then customers should think twice before doing business here.

I have experienced ongoing electrical issues with my Honda HR-V (one year, leased, 12000 km) and have brought the vehicle in first week of February (6th), February 9, February 18, and March 2. The problems remain unresolved (car has electrical failure/issues), and I have been told by Service that the issues are “outside of their threshold.” Wires are freezing, Honda is aware of the issue, and this is "most likely" the issue with your car, Honda is "tight lipped" on a fix. I was told the vehicle is safe to drive but I have been stranded twice already. A case is now open with Honda Canada (Service provided this number to me based on the issue and Techline not having a fix). I live in Ontario Canada where we have winters (I did not buy a summer car). When I recently reached out to discuss options for exiting my lease, I was told via text that the dealership would not “take a $6,000 hit” despite the fact that I never indicated I was unwilling to pay (the hit is irrelevant to me as they make money on cars). I asked for a conversation about options. Instead, assumptions were made and no solutions were offered. I requested multiple times for a manager to call me to discuss solutions. No call. No alternatives presented. No accountability. Only person communicating is the service advisor. After years as a customer, the ongoing vehicle issues and the absence of leadership and basic communication from Management are equally unacceptable. For anyone considering an HR-V, I strongly recommend researching the documented electronic issues before committing.

Certainly hope the work is more professional than the so called service staff. The rude and condescending attitude from the long dark haired girl in the service area was far from “Ideal”.

The last Friday in January, I bought a used Honda Fit with low mileage for top dollar - to be expected given the lack of cars for sale. Everyone seemed friendly. Unfortunately, the sale was done in a rush at the end of the day and the finance woman told me she'd noticed we always used Krown Rust. She told me that I wouldn't be able to use it on the 2020 Fit because it would gum up the electronics. So she sold me an oil deal that I shouldn't have agreed to - and sent me the details that evening. Upon reading about it, I realized that this $1099 plus tax oil treatment would do nothing to protect the underside of the car which is what I had told her I needed. I left phone messages and emailed her and the salesman saying I did not want the treatment. They cancelled it - which was good. On the Monday, I spoke to my 30-year trusted garage mechanic and he said it wasn't true. I could still do the rust prevention on the underside of newer cars. So, in my opinion, she tried to sell this to me under false pretenses. The managers Rick and Amy eventually said that Honda "does not recommend" Krown. But that is SO NOT what she told me. In my opinion, she lied. That was my FIRST bad experience. The SECOND was that when I bought the 2020 Fit, I traded in our old 2011 one but a couple of days later, realized I shouldn’t have. My son suddenly needed a car as he was moving out. So I texted the salesman back, but he said it was already gone. The manager later told me that this was true and that the deal had later fallen through – though I had no way to check that. Wow, what a fast sale!!... hardly time to clean the car up! A week or more later, I got a text from the salesman to say I'd left the 407 transponder in the car and he'd leave it at the desk for me to pick up. He did not tell me that the car was now available. When I came in, the car was in the lot, for sale! I couldn't believe it. We needed a car and, as we knew about the good maintenance history of this one, we sucked up the loss and repurchased it. I felt that the salesman had not told me the truth. When I told the story to the second salesman about how TWICE I’d been shafted and did not trust the dealership, I also asked for a new set of tires that were needed as a gesture of good will. They did include them in the deal – which I thought was good. Still, if they had no culpability, why would they have agreed? But then came the THIRD and worst experience of all. On the long weekend in May, as my son was driving north, the oil light came on and the engine started smoking. They pulled over on the highway and were towed to a wonderful garage in Keswick. The garage called to say the engine had burned out and needed replacing. There was no plug in the underside oil pan – and no oil. They said we should complain to whoever changed the oil on that car. You can guess – it was IMAGE HONDA. I called to complain and they were not helpful. Rick, the manager, did call the garage in Keswick who told him that it was obvious the plug had fallen out. It must have been installed improperly and slowly gotten loose. We found oil on my son’s outdoor parking spot which must have been dropping for awhile. But Rick and Amy refused to admit this was the case – and offered the lamest excuses – arguing with every point, including what the Keswick garage had said. They could offer no explanation for how it had happened, and took no responsibility. Naturally, sadly, this happened three days after the three-month warranty expired! STAY AWAY! Can’t trust them. Go to Sterling Honda if you can. They've always been very helpful and have better ratings.

Very poor service for a loyal customer. All they care about is how they can scam the customer and make money. At 50k they asked me to change my transmission oil and make a bill over $300. When I had a issue with one of my devices in the car they want to charge for me even the car is under warranty. All fairly tales when you buy a new car and when time goes they treat you as crap. I will never go there again.

Purchases 2021 Honda CRV Sport at Honda Kingston with extended warrenty. Backup camera never really consistantly worked and when camera not working there were no backup lights. Latest attempt to get this corrected was in Dec 2025. After 3 days of work finally got it working, When driving home realized there were no interior lights working (obviously not noted by service people) which resulted in not being able to see gear or climate control areas ( dangerous for driving in my books). Booked Jan 6 and 7 2026 to get it corrected. Dropped the car off early on the 6th, got a call at 1150 hours on the 7 that not solved the problem, service person working on another car (after booking my car for 2 days ??), left it for another day. Got call about 1100 hours today that have not solved problen, can not have the car this week, they have no idea what is the problem, if they should find that the problem is a broken wire then the extended warrenty does not cover broken wires. They also stated there was no car available for me to use. So here I am with something they did to my car, (he lights were working when went in to the shop), no car for my use, no idea when I will get the car back. I will not bore you with outlining the issues re Honda Kingston service. Wish me good speed in getting my car back in operating condition.

When I bought my Civic Si, I paid for one upgrade to the wheels and floor mats. I negotiated that the original wheels be included as well. When I showed up to pick up the car, they tried to renege on that deal. More recently I bought new winter tires there. Before long my tires were flat due to corrosion on the allow wheels and I had to buy two new tires. I suspect that they didn't clean off the corrosion and use bead sealer to check for leaks like they should have. They accepted no responsibility and between cleaning the corrosion and buying two new tires I was out $1,000. Cleaning off the corrosion is supposed to be done when you get new tires put on as part of that service. But they found a way to charge double. Clean the corrosion first, then call the customer two days later to tell them the tire isn't safe and needs to be replaced. So shady and/or incompetent. Either way, they don't respect their customers. They no longer offer shuttle services. I brought my car in for a 1pm appointment for tires and by 5pm it wasn't ready yet. Shop foreman was condescending and rude. They assume you are stupid and treat you as such. Stay as far away as possible.

I purchased a new Honda vehicle from this dealership several years ago. There was an issue with the warranty start date as my new vehicle had previously been ordered by another customer who didn't like the exterior color so he ordered another car from them but in a different color. The issue was that Honda Downtown had already registered the start date for the new car warranty for 45 days earlier which was supposed to be the delivery date of this vehicle to the previous customer. I noticed this discrepancy when I took delivery of my new car from them and I even had the General Manager initial on my copy of the Bill of Sale that he would amend the warranty start date with Honda Canada. This apparently was never done as I noticed this oversight about 6 months ago. I called the dealership and spoke to my sales rep and he apologized for the oversight on behalf of the dealer (but this was not my sales reps error). So I called and spoke to the new General Manager as the previous GM was no longer working there. Anyhow the new GM wouldn't amend the warranty start date as I couldn't find my copy of the BOS with the previous GM's initials on it. Honda Canada was fully aware of the warranty start date discrepancy as I had called them when I first took delivery of my new car. I also notified them again about 6 months ago when I realized that the dealership still had not done their originally promised due diligence to amend the new vehicle warranty start date to my original date of delivery. Honda Canada promised me that I would be covered for an extra 45 days in the event that I had a warranty claim. The issue that I have is not with Honda Canada but with the previous GM at this dealership who never did his due diligence to change the warranty start date to my actual date of delivery on my new Honda vehicle and then the present GM refusing to amend the warranty start date for me because I didn't have my copy of the BOS with the previous GM's initials on it. My sales rep at the dealership who still works there knew about this issue so he should have informed the new GM that this issue had actually happened. Honda Downtown really dropped the ball by failing to do their original due diligence and even after a change in General Manager they still refused to amend the warranty start date. As a result of this issue, my trust in this dealership would score a 1 out of 10!

We needed a vehicle to replace our 15-year-old Corolla, and had decided on a newer CRV… then we learned that we had to travel 1400 km to Orangeville for a family funeral. My son, who was driving, had to be back at work before we did so we decided to check Orangeville Honda and see what they had. From the minute I called, Kim made it clear that she was going to make it happen for us - and she did, with caring and kindness and efficiency and absolute competence. When we went to pick it up, everything was ready, and our long drive home was as enjoyable as an exhausting marathon can be, thanks to her hard work and dedication. Kim made buying a car fun, even in difficult circumstances. She’s a gem. Oh, and the car is great too, but it’s the incredible service that made the whole thing such a positive experience. Leggat Blue Mountain Honda DISCRIMINATES AGAINST WOMEN!!!! 25 Nov 7 - Vehicle brought in for inspection for intermittent rear end shimmy and clunking. • Technician, Sam, denied me a ride along to demonstrate the vibrations, did not put vehicle on hoist and inspect manually as requested, and told me to take video of the vibrations. • Emailed Service Manager, Ian Thiessen, complained about discrimination and service. Response to me dismissed my concerns and I was told the technician is licensed with years of experience, as if my knowledge and concerns are invalid. 25 Nov 8 - Emailed rebuke of response to my concerns. Inquired why I still wasn't offered a ride along. NO RESPONSE. • Drove around for hours trying to video record the shimmy. Captured significant footage and sent to Service Manager, Ian Tniessen. NO RESPONSE. 25 Nov 9 - Emailed Branch Manager, Dayn Kramp, forwarding correspondences with Service Manager. 25 Nov 11 - Response from Manager, Dayn Kramp, scheduling a meeting for following day. 25 Nov 12 - Met with Manager Dayn Kramp who defended male employees and blamed FEMALE employees at the counter for not passing on request for ride along. AFTER I forwarded him communication with Service Manager, Ian Thiessen, where Ian confirms the request was passed on and expresses confusion for why I was denied a ride along. Dayn said that because Ian wasn't talking about sex that it wasn't inappropriate. (Paraphrasing from audio recording made of meeting). • Agreed to ride along where I was able to demonstrate shimmy and rear end clunking. Vehicle kept over night for escalation to Senior Technician, Frank. 25 Nov 13 - Manager Dayn Kramp sent a shuttle to my place to retrieve my other key because the one they had wouldn't turn on my vehicle. The key that didn't work was paid for on Oct 12 to be repaired. The battery was replaced but the key was not fixed. THE KEY IS STILL NOT FIXED. 25 Nov 14 - Went on ride along with Senior Technician, Frank where he told me 6 times how much experience he has and how well he knows my vehicle, as if I my lack of certification means that I don't know enough automotive to be taken seriously. • Made comments 5 times about people being picky, wanting everything 100%, and expecting an older vehicle to drive like a new one, when I expressed concern for the slipping I feel in my transmission. • Told me slight notching in front u joint safe and to wait until it shakes like crazy to replace. • Told me shudder in torque converter safe and also to wait until it shudders like crazy to replace. • Tires feathered, recommended I continue to drive until tread indicates replacement, even though I asked 2 times about the cost of rims and tires I was interested in purchasing. • Told that the 3 L flush/filled Sam recommended and I paid to have done, won't help my transmission due to high mileage and suggested taking my vehicle elsewhere to have the transmission properly and fully flushed/filled. (Everything audio recorded). • Emailed Dayn Kramp, complained about the key being returned to me still not working, that I did not get the information for the rims and tires I wanted to buy, and my displeasure of the situation in general. 25 Nov 17 - Manager Dayn Kramp responded by saying he sees no evidence of discrimination "of any kind" and wished me well with my vehicle. No key repair. No rim/tire info. Nothing but dismissed. I got under my vehicle and took photos and video of the areas that were reported to be worked on .... I have reason to believe that what was said to have been done was not. The bolts attaching components in question have no marks or signs of being touched, let alone being removed. FEMALES BEWARE of this dealership!

I went in for a recent 9am appointment for an oil change - rginwloo

I went in for a recent 9am appointment for an oil change and swap for my winter tires already on rims. It was a B1 maint. at apx 120,000km which would involve cleaning brakes checking and possibly replacing air filters along with a whole raft of other little things.They were nice to shuttle me home while service was to be done. They estimated 3 to 4 hrs. I had forgotten that my house keys were on the ring with the car keys so I had a neighbour drive me back to the dealership. I arrived here at 10:30 to see that the car was still where I had parked it. Seeing that I decided to wait at the dealership while they serviced the car. I complained to the service mgr that they hadn't looked at the car after 1.5hrs. They took it in right away at that point. Shop rates there are $145/hr. They had the car done in 1.5hrs (not the 3 to 4 hrs I was told). The bill has a total labour cost of $323 which I calculate to 2.23hr. I was overcharged by 0.73hrs which with my math is $106 more than I should have been. The final bill was $560. This is not the first time I have had issues with this dealership but I suspect it will be the last. They tried in the past to over charge me and I had damage to a gps in the past as well. They did replace it. I don't plan on taking my 2019 Honda Fit there for service again.
