What I mean by that is there more interested in putting people into vehicles that fit there needs and budgets. I was encouraged to try several vehicles in my price range and ever after I made my selection we revisited all of my needs to make sure they were met long before I put pen to paper to seal the deal. When ordering an upgrade for my vehicle the sales rep Jackie King in parts and accessories made sure I was satisfied with my choices in purchase.

I had my vehicle there for an oil change and transmission flush. The service took 1.5hrs. The bill was $540.00. I was shocked. When I reviewed the bill, only $143.00 had been charged out for parts and they had charged me $322.00 for labour for 1.5hrs!!! Not impressed and will never go back.

Very disappointed with my recent visit to Island Chevrolet. Made an appointent to get an oil change done on my 2017 Silverado, entered the Service Department and was totally ignored bybthe Service Staff. Literally stood in the Service Department for 5 minutes and was ignored by staff as they continued conversations amongst themselves. Took my truck into the Ford Dealership...wow...whatva difference. Should have bought a Ford!!

Recently my SUV had two separate instances of intermittent problems that were a real mystery because they could not be reproduced on demand. Darren and the service team persisted and solved both unusual problems. In addition, it did not cost me a fortune.

They gave me fair price on my Chrysler 200, when ICBC failed to show up to do my insurance due to computer system failure they were quick to give a rental car so I could get to work on time and return after work to do the insurance and plates. Had a problem with vibrations in steering wheel and under the front end due to tires needing balancing but they were quick to fix the problem the next day. I appreciated Kris as he seems to be a very sincere and honest salesman which is pretty rare today! So yes definitely recommend Kris to handle any of your new or used car purchases.

Be careful with this dealership. Bernard from the finance office told me he didn’t run my credit report and then said Scotiabank ran it once come to find out he actually ran it 8 times and Scotiabank 4 times. I asked him to correct it he refused and ignored all further emails from me. This really hurt my credit but they don’t care they made the sale. Feel scammed.

I just purchased a 2019 Chev Spark LT (the deluxe one). It's a great little car. It is very quiet and has an exceptional ride for a small car. Even though it is a small car, it gives you the feel and comfort of a much larger car, well done Chevrolet.

couldn't diagnose a bad alternator. - napier
1999 oldsmobile aurora charging light came on voltage went down to 10 volts. i was near laird so took it in. they said it was a thermistor that was no longer available. i looked up on the internet that all you had to do was either short it out or put a 1,5 k resistor in line to check the charging. they said that they would not do that because they would be liable and could sue them. later i found out that blackies in duncan had two of them and i asked what they wanted for them. they gave them to me because they were of little value. after a 400 dollars given to laird for this diagnoses i had it towed home which cost another 300 dollars. their rate is 130 dollars an hour. taking it to a 80 dollar an hour garge the put an alternator in in less than two hours and has been fine ever since. they said everything on laird's assessment was false. never recommend them.
Uneducated service - nothappy
After purchasing several vehicles from this dealership since Don Carr, i will not ever purchase a vehicle from here again. Brought truck in for service and was returned with a broken transmission cooler line. After much arguing they didn’t fully accept responsibility and informed that these fail regularly. They proceeded to put a new faulty cooler line in took 6 weeks , and returned my truck with a damaged air conditioning condenser, empty and non functioning way to go guys. My direct response to Mr. Barnes is and he does know me thru HOG group is i will never buy any vehicle from a Barnes dealership again!!!!!!!!! Harley or Chevy

This dealership is a total train wreck . They just don’t give a crap and could care less about customer service . The fact that it’s one of the few GM dealers on the island I’m sure plays a big part into the take it or leave we don’t give to )&&@s attitude. Stay away from this place it a bad scene all around .

I wouldn’t go here for Service on a vehicle unless you absolutely have to.
The Wednesday before the Canada Day long weekend, our truck broke down on Highway 1 just outside of Hope on the first day of our two week camping trip (we had our trailer hitched up to the truck). We had had the truck serviced in Victoria before we left, so it was a surprise when the check engine light came on and the transmission started acting odd. After we stopped to check what was wrong (at the commercial vehicle weigh station) we were unable to get the truck in gear again. We called Gardner Chevrolet thinking we were lucky we were so close to a town with a Chev dealer.
We then called Hope Towing to get us to the dealer. Pete was great and was able to put the truck on the flatbed and hitch up the trailer to take with us. Victor on the Gardner service desk suggested that we could drop our trailer behind their shop while they looked at the truck, so this is what we decided to do (even though Pete suggested dropping the trailer off first at a campground down the street). We were encouraged by Victor’s suggestion and thought we’d be back on our way later that day (or that they would at least be able to read the code so we would know what the problem was).
When we finally got to the dealer (around 1pm), I made a remark that this wasn’t the greatest start to our holiday. Victor just snidely replied “You’re not the only ones here”. He then asked if we’d like him to call the campground for us – without even mentioning when they’d be able to get to look at our truck. We then had to get Pete to re-hitch up our trailer and tow it to the campground (at a cost of an additional $80!) – especially frustrating as we could have had him drop it on the way to the dealer and the extended warranty would have picked up the cost.
We waited all day for Victor or someone from the Service department to call us and at least let us know what the problem might be (at this point we weren’t sure if it was our transmission or just an electronic component). We even stopped by an hour or so later to pick up something we had forgot in the truck and were only greeted with a seemingly spiteful “How’s the camping?” remark. (Especially galling as we had reservations with our daughter and her husband to be camping outside Osoyoos and were then supposed to be heading for a family reunion the next day in Cranbrook.) No news on the truck or when/if they would be able to look at it.
We spent a sleepless night wondering how we were going to get moving again and if we would get to our family reunion on the Canada Day weekend. The campground we were in (and likely every campground in the province) was completely booked for that weekend and we had no way to move our trailer anyway. We phoned the Service department as soon as they opened the next morning and had to leave a message as they were too busy to come to the phone. When they still hadn’t called back an hour later, we tried again. This time they told us “It’s all fixed.”. While this was good news, it would have been nice if they could have looked at it/fixed it the day before (especially as they only had to change out the transmission control module – which took a very short time in the end). Overall, the worst service I have ever received at a car dealer and a thoroughly horrible experience.
