There was no apparent issue with how the vehicle was operating, however I was heading out of town so I made an appointment to have the issue checked at Capital. The Service Advisor hooked his reader up to the OBD II port and told me there was a minor leak in the evaporative emission control system. The vehicle was left with them and they Ubered me home. After several hours the Service Advisor called and gave me a list of things that needed to be replaced. The estimate was close to $1,000. I asked several pertinent questions of the SA but basically he knew nothing about what any of the sensors, switches, seals electrical cables etc. did or even where they were located on the vehicle. Stuck on the horns of a dilemma I authorised the work. When I came to pick the vehicle up I again asked the SA what was involved in the repair. He still didn’t know and pointed out that the mechanics were the ones who knew that sort of stuff. I was somewhat chagrined and not a little irritated because I like to know and do have enough intelligence to comprehend what different bits do and where they go; if someone is going to be called a “Service Advisor” they should have at least enough knowledge to give advice. After I came home I wrote a note to the Service Manager, Kyle McColl. His response was to have the Service Advisor call me. The SA had found out that some of the bits were located in the aft wheel well but that was about it. His reassuring comment at the end was that the work was guaranteed for two years. Well, forget about two years, because the check engine light came back on in less than two weeks! Not about to have my wallet lightened by another $1,000 repair job, I went and bought an OBD II reader. I stuck the connector into the OBD II port and surprise surprise the code was once again - a minor leak in the evaporative emission control system. Since such leaks are often gas cap related, I went into my garage, found some “rubber” friendly cleaner and a cleaned the top of the filler tube and the gas cap. I then put a thin coating of silicon dielectric compound on the top of the filler neck and on the “rubber” gasket on the gas cap. That took all of 15 minutes and cost probably 25 cents in materials. The check engine light went out after 2 or 3 runs. Some six months later my repair is still sound It would appear that Capital Dodge “fixed” (replaced) a bunch of parts that didn’t need fixing yet didn’t manage to fix the part that did need fixing. I first became a customer of the institution in 2006. Over the years I have had some good experiences and some bad ones with the Service Department, this was by far the most egregious . More

Ram Fluff deffiantly not ram tough! I bought a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 ECO Diesel at the year end in December. I have been there three times for Service issues and the service was terrible. I bought a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 ECO Diesel at the year end in December. I have been there three times for Service issues and the service was terrible. When the truck was sold to me in December they never told me it needed a bra so as not freeze the air intakes which it did and they tried to charge me for the repair.. Jokers The second time leaving work on a wet day and the truck started excelerating with my foot not even on the gas peddle. I made the corner and a red lighting bolt and some warning instructions came up on dash consol the truck was limpiming in the intersection. i just stopped in the middle of the intersection jumped out to see if something was stuck on gas peddle nothing. I called write away and they told me to drive it in to the service centre which I did not knowing if the peddle was going to stick again or leave me stranded.( They hooked up something to it and said they could not see anything wrong and sent me on my way saying it was my floor mats.) The latest issue with my DODGE RAM 1500 4x4 FLUFF! Driving home very recently in a Spring snow fall and the roads have the usual Ontario amount of slush and snow wet condition and the truck hit some slush crossing over into the next lane and the truck just went into limp mode RED Lighting bolts and a detailed message telling me not to turn off truck until I reach a safe destination. The truck will not go over 90klm/hr. I get to a safe location and turn off truck to see if it will reset and it does not. The key is stuck in the ignition and I now need a tow for my 40 000 k on it DoDge Ram4x4 fluff. The truck gets towed and the Tow truck driver tells me there is a plastic wire harness that has been unplugged. I said leave it for the service guys to look at it has the extended warranty. They servic Tech calls the next day and says the wire harness to the transmission has been damaged and 3 pins were bent and the cost of the repair is $474.00 and not under warranty because it was hit with foreign matter. It was hit with snow and slush we live in Ontario and we get lots of it hence the 4x4 truck.I asked why is there a plastic wire harness exposed to the elements in the first place. I was told by the Service tech and the service manager they are all like that. They would not budge on the warranty claim even with pictures the harness is exposed to the elements and there fix was to put plastic wire ties to hold it in place and charged me $474.00 The best part is the service Manager telling me that it can happen at any time and I have kids and my wife drives this vehicle as well. These Trucks are DODGE RAM FLUFF !! You can’t drive them in winter they have way to many exposed electrical connections and they will not help you with warranty (crooks).. I hope you learn from my mistake and buy from a more reputable dealership and for your own safety stay away from the DODGE Ram 1500 4x4 trucks ( Ram Tough lol...more like Ram fluff) More

No calls through the da Full day appointment made far in advance, notified at end of day that they had not started work and would need it another day. No calls through the day to update. Actually called me by accident looking for someone else, at which point I asked about my vehicle. Two full time working parents can't afford to have their primary vehicle for driving children gone for multiple days - I took time from work for this day already that was wasted. This was told to the staff but didn't seem to matter. Not recommended for anyone trying to manage having a life around their car service appointments. More

Worst Experience with a Business ever! Capital Chrysler Jeep Dodge provided me with the worst experience with a business, and I mean with any business ever, not just a dealership. From star Capital Chrysler Jeep Dodge provided me with the worst experience with a business, and I mean with any business ever, not just a dealership. From start to finish - my experience was a complete nightmare. I brought my Fiat into the dealership for a "peace of mind" service. I specifically told Dana my service advisor SEVERAL times that I did not want my tires to be taken away that I would like them returned to me. They were very expensive. I was very clear about this. Upon my return, Dana informed me that they had taken my tires (without my permission) and disposed of them. They told me I would be charged for this "service". I told Dana I did not want that service and asked several times. Taking something without someone's permission - is stealing. Trying to charge them for your theft is completely outrageous. When I expressed my upset and asked for the tires back, Dana told me that he didn't know where they were and that I was welcome to go into the garage and look for the tires myself. Does this dealership think that it is ... 1) OK to take and dispose of tires from customers car without their permission 2) Take zero responsibility for their lack of organization with requests and services 3) Charge customers for services they did not ask for or want 4) Suggest paying customers to "search" for their property in the companies garage If that wasn't enough - no service was even provided. My check engine light went on within hours of picking up my car from them. I was supposed to drive back to Toronto and I had to then return to this horrible dealership in hopes of having it fixed. They didn't apologize for their mistake. They were NEVER supposed to touch my engine so there was no reason for that light to go on after their "service". They said they filled the windshield wiper fluid - they did not. Once I picked up my car for the second time, I asked to speak to Dana's manager, Kyle. He told me that what I told him did not "sound like Dana" and that he must of been having an "off day". In other words, Kyle suggested that I be sympathetic of Dana's attitude towards me. I asked what he intended to do to rectify the error his company made by taking my tires without my permission, and he said that he intended to do nothing. That I was to pay the fee for the service, and that was that. I've reached out to Kyle via the telephone and left a message. I send the company an email. I am patiently waiting to hear back. It is not a debate - my tires are to be returned to me or I am to be refunded. In terms of the terrible "service", I received - all I can do is never return to this dealership and advise everyone to avoid them. More

They haven’t I have been into capital dodge numerous times since buying my car in May of last year due to horrible noises. It’s a 2016 Dodge Charger. They haven’t been able to find anything every time. Finally after the advice of someone on the Kanata moms Facebook group I took the car to G & I automotive where I finally got the diagnosis of what was wrong. So I bring the report to Capital and am told “well they aren’t Chrysler/Dodge certified and maybe they aren’t familiar with this type of driveshaft. There is nothing wrong with your car.” So I bring it to a Chrysler dealership and get the same report that G & I provided and then some...so again I return to Capital. Now they’re refusing to fix my car, which is under warranty, and have suggested I don’t return to their dealership because I’m a disgruntled, difficult customer!!! All I wanted was acknowledgment that my car needs repairs and to have the warranty work done. I should not have to inconvenience myself by traveling to a further dealership to get warranty work done because Capital is embarrassed that they were wrong. Sean, Kyle, Ryan and Shane are all staff that I have been dealing with and their treatment towards me after proving them wrong has changed in such a disgraceful manner. They have long crossed the line of professionalism. They need to take their damaged egos, tuck it back inside where it doesn’t effect me and apologize for their comments and behaviour. Capital Dodge should acknowledge the defaults found, and fix my car. I strongly suggest that anyone buying a vehicle also read the post in the Kanata moms group on Facebook because there are many other negative experience stories there as well. There are 117 comments since I posted less then 24 hours ago. I would also suggest Jim read them as well, he should know how his business is truly being run by employees. More
