I had a Michelin tire blow on the highway. It wasn't covered because the car was moving, and Firis told me the tires were discontinued, and I should actually buy 2 so the treads are the same It wasn't covered because the car was moving, and Firis told me the tires were discontinued, and I should actually buy 2 so the treads are the same on each axle. I was not pleased. This was going to cost $500. I told Firis that I knew it wasn't Toyotatown's fault, but I didn't think this was right, and I engaged Michelin on their chat line to check for other options. About 20 minutes later, Firis called to say that he had a solution. He said that Al, in the parts department had made some inquiries, and had secured a tire from a Toronto dealer, and I would be able to get the tire tomorrow. I also learned that for an extra $15, I could get a road hazard warranty on the tire and this provides coverage if I have another blowout while driving. I don't always send in reviews, but this merits mentioning. Firis didn't have to go to Al, and Al didn't have to make any phone calls because I had already left and was someone else's problem. I have been a Real Estate Broker for the last 15+ years, but before that I worked in retail for about 25 years. I know how tough it can be, and I know long the days can be when things go wrong in retail. I have always been treated with courtesy and respect at Toyotatown. Your store is like a "well oiled" machine. Firis should be commended for taking my issue further to Al in parts to confirm availability elsewhere. That is going the extra mile to satisfy the customer. That is behaviour I will not forget, when I buy my next Toyota in a few more years.
