Travelling through the area on vacation and had an issue - gjtravellers

Travelling through the area on vacation and had an issue with no AC on my F150 truck and trailer brake issue. With time constraints, had the dealership spend 3 hours to diagnose my problem. With a large bill and still no AC or trailer brake fault corrected, I left the dealership, only to discover that the tech did not put the fuse panel cover back on nor close other wiring covers. Contacted service manager and was told he would call back after tech was back at work. The tech said brake issue must be my trailer as he set the brake gain higher and everything works. The tech does not understand the trailer brake gain setting is determined by the size and weight of the trailer being towed. I connected my trailer to other trucks and brake control works fine. I connected my truck to another trailer at the campsite and immediately truck indicates Trailer Brake Fault. Four days later and no return call. Cannot believe the service manager would not immediately provide a solution to rectify this problem, or at least reimburse for the missing part and incorrect diagnosing of the trailer brake fault issue. I am back home on Vancouver Island and will now have to get proper service diagnostics completed and purchase a missing fuse panel cover.

Mid-Town Ford wasted my time twice. The first time, I spoke with the sales representative on the phone about a truck I was interested in, and we agreed that I would come to the dealership at 1:30 on Saturday afternoon to see it. When I arrived, the truck was out front, and I went inside to meet with the salesperson. I explained that I didn’t want to waste their time, nor did I want them wasting mine. I expected a fair price on the truck and a reasonable offer for my trade-in, and we were initially in agreement on that. The salesperson directed me to get a coffee while they attended to something, assuring me they’d be with me shortly. After a while, I noticed the truck being driven out of the lot. The salesperson then informed me that the dealership was inspecting it since it hadn’t been safety certified yet. While I waited, the salesperson left me unattended. Eventually, the truck returned—with another customer and a different salesperson. By this point, it was 2:15, and no one had evaluated my trade-in or engaged with me meaningfully, so I decided I had wasted enough time and left. At 2:30, the salesperson called, apologized, and offered to bring the truck to wherever I was. I explained that I had been upfront about my expectations, yet they completely disregarded my request to respect each other’s time. I told them I wasn’t in the mood to see the truck and needed time to decide whether I wanted to continue dealing with them. On Monday morning, the salesperson called again to see if we could work something out. After the weekend, I cooled off and decided to return to see if a deal was possible. They assessed my car, and I took the truck for a test drive, which I found impressive. Afterward, we sat down to discuss numbers. The salesperson went to the sales manager to get the trade-in value and the final price for the truck. The truck was listed at $61,995, and they lowered it by $900 to $61,095. However, they only offered $30,000 for my trade-in—far below the offers I had received from two other dealerships, which were within $500 of each other and over $8,000 higher than what Mid-Town offered, even without requiring a purchase. Ultimately, I sold my car to one of the other dealerships. I left Mid-Town feeling very disappointed that they had wasted my time yet again. The next day, the salesperson called once more, asking if there was anything they could do on the truck. I told them that they had already wasted my time twice and should be frustrated themselves since the sales manager had done them no favors, wasting both of our time. I explained that I had given them two chances and would not make the mistake of dealing with them again. Word to the wise—after 40 years of purchasing vehicles, I can confidently say there are much better dealerships to work with than Mid-Town.

A great "new" car experience! - runner

For my first car purchase this was the best I could have hoped for! The sales person (Justin) was friendly, trusting, and answered my questions, and I had lots! Our final deal went very smoothly and the finace person was great; very low key and easy going. So far the car we bought has exceeded expectations and we would happily recommend Wilf's to others looking for a good used vehicle.

After talking to Travis Derksen for about half an hour, I decided to purchase a 2016 Ford Edge from this dealership. It really was that simple and we are very happy with the vehicle.
