Sold me a lemon, Shady Repairs, Poor Customer Satisfaction The Jeep Grand Cherokee we bought from Capital Dodge in Kanata, ON is a 2014, so 4 years old now. It has roughly 70,000km on it. In the first few ye The Jeep Grand Cherokee we bought from Capital Dodge in Kanata, ON is a 2014, so 4 years old now. It has roughly 70,000km on it. In the first few years of it's life, it was in several times for warranty repairs: twice to have the head gasket replaced and once to replace the entire transmission. Suffice to say, it was not a quality vehicle from the start. When we got the Jeep, we paid for Winter tires on steel rims and paid for storage on the off seasons. We went one season where we didn't switch to the winters, keeping them in storage. The following winter when we went to have them installed, we were told they couldn't find them (they either lost them, sold them, or an employee stole them). Capital Dodge wasn't willing to do anything about this until my wife posted about the situation on Facebook. Only then did they reach out to replace the tires and rims. Most recently, the key-less entry and push button start began acting up. Key-less entry would stop and the vehicle would not start. Everything else worked fine, including the power locks. The next day, things would work fine. We noted the vehicle had several past recalls, so brought it into Capital Dodge for the recalls on Friday, thinking the current issue might be related to one of the recalls. The problem arose again in the parking lot. I agreed to pay for the ~$90 diagnostic fee and was called later that day to advise it required advanced Diagnostics in the are of $300!! My next update was that they had not found the problem yet and had contacted Jeep engineers to help. The following Monday I got a call and was told that the RF module that controls the key-less entry and push start had loose connectors that were corroded. I was told that these connectors were non-replaceable parts. They had a solution that involved bypassing these connectors and soldering the two wires together. While I was grateful they had a cheaper alternative to buying a new $1500 module, I was dismayed that I would be paying a total of $870.00 for some tests and to solder two wires together. This is a FOUR year old vehicle and under-used for its age. I agreed to the repair. Two days later, I picked up the vehicle with my wife. As we were pulling out of Jeep she flagged me over and told me that the airbag light was on. It had not been on prior to the repairs. She was also getting a message to service the airbag. We also noticed that the washer fluid pump no longer worked. The reservoir had fluid in it, but we could not hear the pump when we tried to activate it. A short while later we called Jeep and told them of the new issues since the repair. An appointment was made for the following day, and we dropped it off that night. We advised the night Fast Lane employee JP that we expected not to be charged. The following afternoon, I received a call from Capital Dodge. I was told that they had tested all of their work and that they hadn't caused the new problems and were waiting for my authorization to proceed (for additional paid diagnostics). I advised them that both new issues were not present until they had worked on my vehicle and that it was obvious they had caused them. I was not willing to pay anything further. I was told that a damaged headlight was likely the cause of the airbag sensor causing the issue (damaged in my garage, not as the result of an accident). When I asked how a broken headlight would make my washer fluid pump stop working too?, he told me that the problem they had fixed with the key-less entry may have migrated. So, the problem I paid them to diagnose and fix wasn't fix...it just moved, or the broken headlight caused it? More likely, the technician that took apart my dash (and God know what else) to diagnose and fix the original problem, inadvertently broke something new. Not a big deal if the problem is caught and fixed. It's a HUGE deal if you expect your customers to pay for the new problems you cause. I was told I was welcome to bring forward proof that they had caused the problem. Proof? How? I wasn't there. I will not spend another penny at this dealership, and I will ensure everyone I know is aware of the horrible service I have received. I feel ripped off on many levels. First, I had a brand new vehicle that was a lemon from day one, and is proving to be just as bad 4 years later. Next, I paid to store winter tires that went missing and were only replaced after a Facebook post. Finally when I do pay for repairs (for issues that shouldn't be happening in a vehicle this young), it returns from the dealership with NEW issues, that they are not willing to fix, claiming it wasn't them and basically that I cant prove it was. They ran three hundred dollars worth of "diagnostics", repaired a faulty wire connection, completed three recalls, but it wasn't something they did.. Well, the only thing that changed between last Friday and today, is that I brought my vehicle in for servicing. Consumers beware. I do not recommend Jeep as a brand and I wholeheartedly condemn the level of service, integrity and customer satisfaction displayed by the service department at Capital Chrysler Jeep Dodge, in Kanata Ontario. Dana Listman is a perfect example how the employees go beyond the norm and give a personal meaning full services. I had a sunroof screen that broke unexpectedly. I was distraught and had no idea how I was going to pay for it, having a fiat in the summer is turns into a sun room (super hot). Dana went beyond the norm and understood how expensive the replacement was, how I had young children, how Im completely poor right now and how I have been loyal and always on time with all my maintenance for the car. He went out of his way and spoke to the manager to see how they could help me out. They were able to discount it and made my year!!!. I am so beyond grateful, this review does not cut it. I spent two days driving around without the sun guard and it was an oven with the ac on full. I can not thank Capital dodge enough and Dana for going out of his way and understanding my situation. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I want to add, that Ryan Rodney is fab too!! his smiles just makes my day and is a wonderful part of your team ! a joy to encounter! and Brent Smith has been so diligent! and awesome! he does not say much but he is the reason why I don't have that hesitation on my car that I have been complaining about for years. I bought my car in numerous times and nobody could find what was wrong because the problem never replecated on their watch. But Brent looked into it and 100% believed this was a serious problem, kept the car for a few days and GOT IT FIXED! I nearly got into a fatal accident because of the hesitation on intersections, it was a serious issue. So Capital Dogde!! these three men deserve a raise!!! Please pay them more and reward them for being such assets to your team! O’ and must not forget Neil!! Getting a ride with Neil is a joy and honour in itself!! Please know you are so lucky to have these men apart of your team!! and the reason I only visit you! More

They haven’t I have been into capital dodge numerous times since buying my car in May of last year due to horrible noises. It’s a 2016 Dodge Charger. They haven’t been able to find anything every time. Finally after the advice of someone on the Kanata moms Facebook group I took the car to G & I automotive where I finally got the diagnosis of what was wrong. So I bring the report to Capital and am told “well they aren’t Chrysler/Dodge certified and maybe they aren’t familiar with this type of driveshaft. There is nothing wrong with your car.” So I bring it to a Chrysler dealership and get the same report that G & I provided and then some...so again I return to Capital. Now they’re refusing to fix my car, which is under warranty, and have suggested I don’t return to their dealership because I’m a disgruntled, difficult customer!!! All I wanted was acknowledgment that my car needs repairs and to have the warranty work done. I should not have to inconvenience myself by traveling to a further dealership to get warranty work done because Capital is embarrassed that they were wrong. Sean, Kyle, Ryan and Shane are all staff that I have been dealing with and their treatment towards me after proving them wrong has changed in such a disgraceful manner. They have long crossed the line of professionalism. They need to take their damaged egos, tuck it back inside where it doesn’t effect me and apologize for their comments and behaviour. Capital Dodge should acknowledge the defaults found, and fix my car. I strongly suggest that anyone buying a vehicle also read the post in the Kanata moms group on Facebook because there are many other negative experience stories there as well. There are 117 comments since I posted less then 24 hours ago. I would also suggest Jim read them as well, he should know how his business is truly being run by employees. More

I have always heard bad stor I purchased a new Dodge Grand Caravan and have always been impressed with the service because of one person. Ryan Rodney. I have always heard bad stories about big dealership service departments but that couldn't be farther from the truth with Ryan and the Capital Dodge service team. Ryan is always willing to help and always honest in his teams diagnosis and repairs. You can buy a new Caravan from any one of many Ottawa Dodge dealers but only one dealership will show you that you made the right choice with Capital Dodge-Ryan and his team take care of you on what important, anyone can sell you a van but it is amazing service that shows you why Capital Dodge service is head and shoulder above any other dealer because of Ryan and his team More

The parts guy didn't even make eye contact or say hi and just went straight to going over the paperwork. The only redeeming factors was that we had a great sales person (Shannon). She was professional and was willing to go over all of the features of the vehicle, answer all questions, and help transfer plates etc. Shannon was excellent. We also received very friendly and knowledgeable service in the service department and particularly Ryan went above, like Shannon, to make sure we were settled in. More
