Dan Bass and Western GMC are persistent and professional. Buying a vehicle in this current market is not easy. As a business owner and a veteran of the car industry my standards are high. I’m also not the easiest buyer in the world to deal with as a resulted that background. Not to say I am immune to the emotional throes of car shopping. I originally came to visit Western as my lease for my previous purchase was coming due. I knew the market was good for trucks and I had a strong hand with a Denali Sierra with all the right stuff. The vehicle I really wanted wasn’t available as it’s not out yet. (Thanks covid) So I was forced to return my lease and make a choice before what I wanted was available. At first western didn’t have what I wanted in stock. I went to 2 ford stores, 2 ram stores, even checked out Cadillac. Then I went to another store to finalize a deal and put myself into the black hole of falling in love with a Yukon. The years hottest new release SUV. Nothing in stock and The other dealer wanted the Bitcoin price, as in, completely out to lunch high price. Though they had some nice custom ones they just weren’t rubbing me the right way for some reason. Dan was a veteran customer focused salesman. Quentin was honest, in that he had to make his money on what Is a very rare ride. 50 Yukon’s in Alberta only 2 had teak interiors. Was it a grind of a car deal? Yes. But they never really BS me. The thing is I can’t go to a movie, or on vacation, or go to a concert or hockey game. So if I was going to spend some money finally in this pandemic I wanted to like what I got. In the end I’m 99% happy with the outcome and that’s the best a guy like me can ask for. I could tell that I was semi-unreasonable to Quentin in my demands and Dan had to work more than one might be used to in a different time. But he always made me feel valued as a customer and comfortable. He was good at conversation and pointing out the options that I had to work with based on my difficult buying motivations. Quentin in the end saved the deal which almost fell apart multiple times over two weeks. Yet he maintained composure and professionalism. I employ 42 people, including sales people and I told them about this story. They all communicate a sentiment that selling me something would be an awful experience. Jerks! (Probably justified) Quentin never let up. He negotiated with dealers and internal circumstances on two fronts and got me the vehicle I wanted. He said he would get it done, and he did. He told me what he was going to do and he did it. When he was presented with a challenge he handled it with a level of humility and resourcefulness that only comes from experience. He made me see his point of view so I appreciate the resourcefulness and rare nature of my purchase. In the end I spent $2800 more at Western to get my colour and an experience where I felt it was a win for everyone and I felt my purchase was earned and appreciated. I’ll be back. More

This dealer has always been good to deal with , staff are usually very friendly and professional, my last visit there I was discounted on a bill for an update on the engine controller of my truck , which was usually very friendly and professional, my last visit there I was discounted on a bill for an update on the engine controller of my truck , which was great , I didn’t mind paying the cost , however, something like that should come as no cost to the consumer as its faulty or outdated programming , that’s something I think the dealer should honour out of good will regardless of warranty , I mean we don’t pay for windows update they come free with the purchase of a product. Not to mention customers are set back their vehicle for a few hours or even the day , and still end up stuck with a bill for something as silly as a controller update which should be done during an oil change for free. Just food for thought , otherwise great job western keep it up. More
