I had purchased a Chev Malibu six years ago from Jim Wilson's so we came to view and test drive the 2017 SLE Terrain. We had gone to two other dealerships as well.

I am from Peterborough and was driving my daughter back to Guelph on a Sunday evening. My car started to stall on the 401. I stayed the night in Guelph hoping that someone could help me the next day. The first dealership I phoned after I told them about being out of town said they couldn't help me. When I phoned Robinson Buick even though they were busy the service department said to bring it in as soon as I could. I was on the road within two hours. I appreciate that they took the time to listen and helped me get home. Thank you. Excellent service. This is why I will continue to buy GM cars because of the amazing service you get even when you are out of town.

After discouraging performances with dealers in 2 counties I made a point to travel extra distance while in Sarnia to try these guys out.
My daughter referred me and she travels from Midland to Wallaceburg to do so. We are from Wiarton , neither of us,around the corner.
From the time we walked up to the service desk to the time we drove away, the whole interaction was professional, personable, friendly and knowledgeable.
The communication during the frustrating problem my vehicle presented was outstanding. As a customer without history in the dealership, I felt important and that my business was valued regardless of the fact my truck was a 2008.
Some corrective work to shoddy work by another dealership will be done later and we will drive the 3 1/2 hours because they are worth it!
When we buy another vehicle, the same will apply.

They gave us a loaner car as they worked on the car, so we got all our running around done that day. They called us to update us on the status and asked for permission to do the work that needed to be done for the safty.

DOT certification - sonic owner
I brought my 2013 Sonic in for a DOT certification and since the car has been lovingly maintained since new, I did not expect any surprises. unfortunately Applewood insisted that due to the car sitting in my garage for a few months, the brake rotors had somehow moved out of round. I really doubt if this is even possible. They charged me $400 +taxes labour cost to grind the brake rotors.. the total time for the work was 1.5 hours or $267 per hour! The rotors barely looked sny difftent when finishedm

I got a used car about six months ago nothing but problem do to service department not know how to fix vehicles would never let them work on any car I have spent close to 4000 on repair bills to get the car right and it still isn't also talked to the previous owner who owned the car said those were the issues he had when he took it in so that says they don't fix there used cars they just pawn them off on people and hope they come back to get service work done and make more money

Are we in the business of selling vehicles or WHAT ? - NOT Impressed !
Spoke with a young salesperson, Bradley Allen, to purchase a new 2017 Chevrolet Bolt. Confirmed they had a Bolt on order and ready for delivery early April 2017. Discussed extended warranty and finalized the pricing. Had the deal done but... called numerous times with my VISA number with no reply. Finally, after numerous calls I spoke with another salesperson only to find out they MAY not wish to sell the BOLT. Strange reply when I've spent time finalizing the deal with the other salesperson. I reached out and spoke with Ryan Jackson, Assistant GM... waste of time ! Seems Dad runs the show and the kids cant make any decisions. Bad family dynamics! Car's on the lot but NOT for sale. Interesting sales culture.
I wonder why General Motor's allow these poorly run family dealerships to continue representing them? The automotive world is changing.. Google, Uber, its only a matter of time until someone challenges the status quo and these family run dealerships close down similar to Eaton's, Sears and the list goes on....
New/Used Purchase surprise - TheDuke
My wife and I had purchased all of our new/used vehicles from Tom Smiths. Everytime we were always treated very well. Including when we just purchased a 2011 Equinox LT. The salesperson was easy to talk to and made my wife feel very comfortable. My wife does not normally talk to someone, she does not know, for something like this. (always Nervous) But the salesperson made her so comfortable, to my amazement, she went to talk to him, without me, first time ever!! Anyways, my wife loves the vehicle! Within the first month I had brought the vehicle back to the dealership to have something looked at. They immediately took care of it and said everything else was fine, with the vehicle. By the third month I took HER vehicle, to get an oil change (to synthetic), before winter. It did not need an oil change but I prefer synthetic She had only driven it, in town, not many Km put on it. This is where I was surprised, the company whom did the oil change, informed me that the alignment was off(rear) and the front tire had a wear on the one side of the tire. So it looked like the weared tire was taken from the back and put onto the front, so it would have not been seen. I went back to the dealership, to inquire. I spoke to the head of sales and then to service and they could not explain it but they were willing to do an alignment, at a cost. I figured, from past experience at this dealership, that some sort of explanation or assistance would be offered, but no. I never thought this would happen, here, but it did. I thought a certified vehicle had to be checked for alignment, with all other checks, but I am not a mechanic and I was wrong, I guess. So anyways make sure to ask before you purchase, just to be safe. My wife still loves the vehicle but for now, until we can afford it, she is driving extra cautiously, until we can buy new tires and get an alignment. The team there are great but I cannot figure out why something like this could happen. It is stressing and upsetting.
This is not a full complaint but just a heads-up to other customers.
