Phenomenal Customer Experience On Saturday morning February 15, 2020, I purchased a Subaru Forester Touring from Gerald Subaru in Naperville, Illinois. I had the extreme pleasure o On Saturday morning February 15, 2020, I purchased a Subaru Forester Touring from Gerald Subaru in Naperville, Illinois. I had the extreme pleasure of meeting and working with Kelly Thomas during the entire process. Kelly immediately put me at ease, which made the entire buying experience from start to finish enjoyable and extremely comfortable. Kelly took the time to explain the vehicle to me in detail, allowed me to drive it on their test track and on the open road. When we got back to Kelly’s office, she looked me in the eyes and said, “John what questions or concerns do you have that I may assist with before we proceed?”. Kelly listened to my needs and concerns, and gave me the answers I required in order to feel comfortable with my purchase. This is not something I’ve experienced in the past when purchasing a vehicle. There was never a moment of feeling that I was trying to be manipulated into buying something that I didn’t want and/or need. As a matter of fact, by the time I left the dealership, I felt as if Kelly and I had been friends for years. Halfway home, I got a call from Kelly who was just checking in to make sure all was well, and to see if I had any questions. When I got home, there was an email from Kelly containing multiple links to YouTube videos, in order to aid me in a more in-depth understanding of my new vehicles features and settings. Talk about a “Wow Customer Experience”, Kelly Thomas provides this in spades!!! This prompted me to go out to the dealerships website and read Kelly’s reviews from others, which happen to be a solid 5 out of 5-stars rating. These reviews speak volumes about Kelly’s integrity and passion for her work. If you live in the Chicagoland area, and are in the market for a Subaru, do yourself a huge favor and give Kelly Thomas a call at Gerald Subaru in Naperville, Illinois, and be prepared for a fantastic stress-free buying experience. One of our best buying experiences ever I started my Subaru search with Gerald Subaru when I was still living in Boston and about to move to the Chicago area. My inquiries were acknowledged I started my Subaru search with Gerald Subaru when I was still living in Boston and about to move to the Chicago area. My inquiries were acknowledged and my questions answered and I was never bombarded with daily or weekly emails offering me everything every day. Gerald was professional, and actually listed to and replied to what I asked, and did not flood me with useless information. Once we moved to Naperville It took seven months to actually venture into the dealership, but when we did we were greeted with enthusiasm and friendliness, and were not set upon as we had sometimes been with other dealerships. We were left free to roam about and open and inspect the cars on the floor, wander over the facility to see the service area, the comfortable waiting area, and other places. And as we did so we were greeted with smiles and hellos by all the staff there who were not actually serving other customers. When we finished our walkabout we were introduced to a dealer rep, and then to others in the system. And the representative we met was a perfect fit. And we finished up buying the perfect car. We worked with Paulo Rodriguez, and because of HIM we bought the top-of-the line car we did. The only other car we seriously considered was a different car at another local dealership (which I will not name). Walking inside we were really hustled around, and given to a rep who took us out for a test drive. It was a very nice car with everything we wanted, but he just tossed me the keys and told me to drive it. That part was OK, I guess, but I knew nothing about the car and its controls and its gadgets and safety systems, and my entire test drive was spent asking questions about everything, many answers of which he could not explain at all. But Paulo was different. We went out for a test drive -- and he drove for the first twenty or so minutes, explaining what every safety system did, what most of the controls did, and so on. By the time I drove it myself I actually knew what I was doing, and enjoyed the test drive because I actually felt that I was in control. Paulo never once looked at his watch, never once tried to get us back in the dealership, and never once tried a hard-sell tactic. Instead, he patiently guided us through just about everything. When we got back to the dealership he went through all the features again, guided me through all the answers to my questions. There was no haggling over a price: we knew we were getting a quality (and upscale) vehicle, and we worked to get to a price that I felt was reasonable for us to pay. After we took delivery a couple of days later, he again went out with me to make sure I was comfortable, and also told me that in case I had more questions he would always be available to meet with me (I did, and he was). At all times he treated us with the utmost respect, and I hope I treated him the same way. I really liked the dealership itself: clean beyond all expectations, and also a great selection of teas and coffees. Before I actually went to Gerald I often saw drivers in parking lots with Gerald Subaru stickers on their cars. Almost to a man or woman they had nothing but positive comments to say about the staff there, and about the dealership itself. As I wrote at the top: one of our best buying experiences ever. More
