I had a very disappointing experience with the service department at Richmond Hill Honda. I brought in my 2018 Honda Civic for an A/C issue — they charged me $226 just for a visual inspection and quoted me $2,779 to replace the compressor clutch, pulley, and coil.
Later, I visited a certified local mechanic who simply refilled the refrigerant, and the A/C worked perfectly — no parts were faulty. Clearly, no proper diagnosis was done by the Honda team, and basic checks like refrigerant pressure were completely skipped.
Worse, I took a full day off work and spent over 4 hours at their shop just to be misled and upsold on unnecessary repairs. The technician also refused to perform the fuel pump recall, claiming minor wiring under the seat was in the way — even though it could have been removed with a screwdriver in minutes.
Extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism, poor service, and inaccurate diagnosis. I’ve reached out for a refund and will escalate this to Honda Canada, OMVIC, and Consumer Protection Ontario if it's not resolved.
Do yourself a favour and get a second opinion before approving any repairs here.
