Paige was very professional in her knowledge of sales. She is personable and that, combined with her experience in sales, cemented the sale for us. I am very disappointed in the service I receive at GP Volkswagen. They have outright lied to me about warranties and there is one issue that is 1.5 years old that has not been resolved yet. I originally found this vehicle via Autotrader.ca, I was shopping for a used Audi S5 and found this at GPVW. I spoke with the sales Manager Drew originally about the details of the car and worked out a dea shopping for a used Audi S5 and found this at GPVW. I spoke with the sales Manager Drew originally about the details of the car and worked out a deal. Based on the information provided on their website for the vehicle regarding features it is was what i had been looking for. I was approved for financing and purchased the vehicle sight unseen as i had confidence that the vehicle would be in factory condition as it only had 13529 km's. I reviewed the carfax and noticed the vehicle had been previously stolen in BC "Total Theft of vehicle" but there was a $0 claim cost. When i asked them they said that it was probably stolen and recovered quickly. So i took their word on this. I paid for a flight to Grande Prairie that evening April 9, 2021 and flew to Grande Prairie. I had a friend pick me up Jason Gillette who is a car salesman in the city and worked for the Auto Group which GP volkswagon is a part for many years and knew the Management team at the dealership and subsequently helped get me deal on the vehicle due to his relationships. I arrived at the dealership the next morning April 10, 2021 to complete the paperwork and look at the vehicle. Since i am not a mechanic i trusted the vehicle was in good working order, and proceeded to sign the paperwork for the vehicle. I left Grande Prairie for Edmonton with the vehicle, and as i was driving i noticed a few minor deficiencies. The first of which was the overhead control cluster which was falling out of the roof, the second was the brake pedal rubber had fallen off, third the drivers door speaker sounded to be blown and the B&O sound system which Audi's come with did not sound as powerful as other S5's of the same year i had looked at, fourth, the front bumper was misaligned to the fender on the drivers side. I called GPVW right away when i found these and they suggested taking it in to Audi to have it looked at. I called and booked the car in for the following week as it was a Saturday and they booked me an appointment for Wednesday April 14, 2021. On Wed April 14, 2021 i brought the vehicle in to Audi North in Edmonton and explained the items i was concerned about and left the vehicle with them for the duration of my work rotation (14 days). I received a call from the service writer from Audi the following day detailing the issues they found and that they would not be covered under warranty as the damage was done by force. I was also informed that due to the extensive damages that warranty would not be offered on this vehicle due to it being written off. The technician who inspected the vehicle also noticed other issues with the vehicle which affected the safety as seen below: " During inspection, we noted the drivers front bass speaker has been replaced with an aftermarket speaker. The speaker does not fit correctly and interferes with the drivers front window regulator. The puddle lamps in both front doors are missing and the wiring has been cut. The dead pedal has been replaced with a part from an older A4 and does not fit correctly. The sunroof control/ light assembly has damaged mounting clips. The rear reading lamp has been previously removed and is damaged. The front belly pan is missing and the rear one was found in the trunk. All hardware for these parts are missing. The right front lower fender liner is broken- half missing. The front bumper is has damage where it meets the left front fender. The fender is bent, and mounting bracket/hardware for bumper are missing. After the front bumper has been repaired, the vehicle will require peripheral camera calibration. The right front shock absorber has been replaced with an incorrect part. Part appears to be a used part, and the complete shock with spring and upper mount were changed. Part installed is for adjustable suspension, but the vehicle is equipped with standard suspension. This can potentially cause adverse handling. The shocks and springs must be replaced in pairs for this vehicle due to a parts change up. Wheel alignment may be required aer parts are replaced. The wheels and tires are not the specified size for this vehicle. It was originally equipped with 19inch wheels and res, 18-inch wheels and res are currently installed. The tires are approximately 6 years old and are cracking due to age. These tires would not pass an AMVIC inspection. All of the noted issues may be subject to additional parts and diagnosis, as it appears extensive work has been performed to this vehicle." I have also attached a snipping of the features listed for the vehicle on the dealers website stating the vehicle is equipped with 19" rims and high performance tires. Which the vehicle does not currently have as stated above. I originally was speaking with the sales manager Drew about these items and was offered roughly $3000.00 to aid in the repairs. When i received the quote (also attached) from Audi north it was upwards of $11,000.00 for the repairs. (this was just for the deficiencies identified) as i am sure there is a lot more wrong with the vehicle. I was then handed off to the General Manager Darcy Burrell, he offered me $5,000.00 to aid in the repairs which i turned down as well. He mentioned to me that the vehicle had been in to Southgate Audi in Edmonton, Ab prior to them bringing it to the dealership for an out of province inspection (which it failed email from Service advisor at Southgate Audi is also attached) so i contacted them to get the information regarding the inspection. When i mentioned contacting AMVIC regarding the issues he was quick to cancel the deal and then loan and reimburse my flight expenses as i am sure he knew that they were trying to sell a vehicle which needed extensive repairs for a premium. I noticed this evening that they have the vehicle back on the lot and i do not want anyone else to have to go through what i did buying a vehicle from a dealer that is scamming people and not disclosing the damages to the vehicle. I have filed a complaint with AMVIC regarding my experience. More
