Northstar: "We turn your vehicle into our make work project" A few years ago I brought in a vehicle to replace the steering pump and check the serpentine belt (since it sounded like it was frayed and rubbing). A few years ago I brought in a vehicle to replace the steering pump and check the serpentine belt (since it sounded like it was frayed and rubbing). Charged me $75 to "diagnose" and told me it was fine. Once I received the vehicle I check the belt while running and there was a foot long fray in the belt that would be obvious to a first day shop tech. I took it back to Northstar where they replaced it. As my wife was driving home the belt fell off on Crowchild and we could not steer the vehicle and we were almost in a collision. This year I returned to Northstar (maybe they have changed for the better or maybe I am a sucker for punishment), to replace the steering pump (again). Was told that they tested the pump and it was good, but they thought it was a bunch of front end components. After $3500 later was told that the pump was not tested in the beginning and now they believe it was the pump. There is many other issues I have with this dealership, but I don't want bore you with the details. Long and short of it is, I would rather swish my mouth out with used motor oil than return to this money trap. More

Northstar service commits to producing results My 2017 Escape has been in to Northstar several times now to try and fix an ongoing, but intermittent issue where the rear tail light would sometimes My 2017 Escape has been in to Northstar several times now to try and fix an ongoing, but intermittent issue where the rear tail light would sometimes work, sometimes not. Because the issue is intermittent, I understand it is very difficult to diagnose and fix. Regardless, it is still very frustrating to return to the dealer time and time again for the same issue. I must admit I was starting to lose some confidence in the product. Although friendly personnel go a long way, a service department needs to be results driven. Northstar understands this. Throughout all of this, Liane has been adamant that the issue must, and will be fixed. I am very pleased that Northstar never once gave up on it. Liane and her colleagues seemed just as frustrated as myself, and showed strong commitment to producing results. As their customer, Northstar also made sure I was kept in the loop with all of the different fixes attempted, and they even made the experience a little less inconvenient by renting me a replacement car for my last visit of almost 1 week (very much appreciated). I also can't say enough how much I appreciate the efforts of the service technicians, especially as they were spending hours on the phone with Ford technical support trying to fix this. Overall, I am still waiting to find out if the issue is fixed (it will take some time because it is an intermittent issue), but I am glad I have Northstar's full support. Thank you More

Service reception and shuttle service was fantastic! Brought my car to check the sound and GPS system. Brittany was very through and friendly. Explained what was wrong with the systems. Check up for Ford Escape 70,000 km check. Service ok. I bought the vehicle here. They checked vehicle history. Waited 30 minutes to check in vehicle. Very busy morning, which 70,000 km check. Service ok. I bought the vehicle here. They checked vehicle history. Waited 30 minutes to check in vehicle. Very busy morning, which is understandable. However, I also waited 30 min. for shuttle. Did not know that the shuttle was going to be that late. Could have walked to train station, and was late for work because of the delays. Walked back to the dealership at the end of the day from the train. Will not make that mistake again. The train station is very close to the dealership. (about a 5 min. walk). They should inform customers how long they will have to wait for the shuttle. At the end of the day, they did not call to say vehicle was ready.When I called I left two messages and Brittany did not call me back. I spoke to her after the third try. They also told me that my steering gear and both front axle seals were leaking and had to be replaced next time, at a cost of $1900. This is something that I will not get done here, and should be a recall, as I had a maintenance agreement for 5 years and nothing was noticed during that time. Nothing is leaking that I can see. More
