Unexpected repair. - Betty Hughes
On my way to Bridgewater my tire pressure light came on so I preceded to Mosher Motors to see if they could check the tire for me. When they did I was told it was more than just air needed. One of the Service Managers took in the garage and and proceeded work on the tire only to discover I have picked up a screw along my travels. I was so thankful that they were able to repair it has they were extremely busy at the time. Over the years I have been dealing with Mosher Motors I have had excellent service and we have three Fords that go there for regular maintenance, our largest unit is a thirty foot motor home.
Fix Air Conditioner - Corinne Doucette
Was in with my Ford Explorer to get Air Conditioner repaired. Contacted Scott Fanning who took care of everything for me and made sure that I had a vehicle that had air condition while my Explorer was being repaired. I already recommended 5 people who were looking to buy a new Ford to Scott Fanning and everyone of them had positive comments about their experience with Scott. I would not be afraid to recommend Scott at this dealership to anyone. The staff in the Service department is also easy to deal with. Scott. thanks for going out of your way to assist me with my air conditioner problem during those hot summer days. Corinne Doucette
Happily Ever After - FordMoM83
We were not in the market for a new vehicle, but when our car died on our wedding day Hollis Ford was there with us from the beginning and was able to find us a Brand New Ford F150 to fit our tight budget and to our happy surprise - on its first tank of fuel went 1600km!! Garnet MacLean was our sales specialist and he was absolutely fantastic. He was able to walk us through the purchase process as this was our very first new vehicle. Ryan Senior the Sales Manager greeted me by name and made us feel valued. Terry the finance manager was prompt and efficient and was able to get the deal moving as quick as possible as we did not have a backup vehicle. We are very pleased and would very highly recommend this location for your new or used vehicle! Thank you Ryan, Garnet & Terry, thanks to you we now will live happily ever after!
Not Likely... - FordMoM83
We were pushed into a position where we needed a vehicle to replace our Dodge that just died on us - so we were in a motivated position to buy a new vehicle and very excited. We were interested in the Ford F150 and went to our local dealership in Tatamagouche to look at some options. Greeted by Randy MacDonald. Who from the very beginning was not interested in our business. He was far too casual almost lazy. He may have had pink eye, he was short with us, and with absolutely no effort - located a truck in Halifax that he could have someone DRIVE to us.. (drive my brand new truck 100km before I even see it!?) every vehicle on the lot had ridiculous upgrades that forces the customer to pay for shiny chrome.. on top of the overpriced models on display.. Randy made us feel like if we didn't have a big bag of money to give him for the halifax mystery truck we are not likely going to get it.. and im not exaggerating. We never went back to see him. We went to Hollis Ford in Truro and was taken care of with a level of service that should shame the tri county location. certainly a learning experience for the young fellow.
Good friendly service. - vance601
I appreciated the efforts of the sales staff and the service staff to satisify my requirements. My verhicle a 2014 Escape (basic model) is pleasant to drive and quite good on gas mileage.
Tire issues - Vibration - In my Element
I purchased studded winter tires from a local supplier and there was a vibration issue they could not fix related to the tires. I decided to go to the Ford dealer to get the problem fixed and they did. I noticed while at the dealer, they offered the same tires but I forget they offer tires plus excellent service. I should of bought tires from Ford Dealer. Always nice professional people to deal with and results to my satisfaction.
Faulty and Dangerous Repair work - Ionian
I went for an oil change with no prior issues. They claimed I needed a transmission seal replaced. 2 axle replacements later followed by 3rd axle replacement by a dealer in U.S. where I broke down, my vehicle is finally fixed. The U.S. dealership was exemplary. They truly cared about their product. They even double checked their work 4 days later to ensure everything was fine and 2700kms later still no issue. The U. S. dealer actually knew what they were doing and fixed it. They explained the axle wanted to pull out resulting in buffering. I'm lucky to be alive. They thoroughly inspected the transmission, as well, and it was fine. The entire assembly required replacing so no further issues.
Similar to other reports here about Steele, Steele would argue with me about the repeated visits and lack of repair, attempted to say it was the vehicle I bought and not them, then ask me what they should do to fix it, and so on. The attempted to avoid accountability for their work and tried to shrug responsibility for the repair decisions on to me.
This was a nightmare and ruined a bucket list trip for me. Made me 7 hours late for the start of a very special 4 day event. I missed the entire day registration and event start up, and an opening concert by world renowned musicians. I spent $1000s on that trip.
I nor anyone on my family will ever do business with Steele Ford or any dealer associated with its owners. Everyone I know will know about this.
I filed complaints with Ford Canada and the BBB. Ford Canada was supposed to get back to me within 24hrs of my initial report, its now almost 96hrs later.....nothing. I contacted them again today. They stated they contacted Steele about the matter and they have not returned their calls.
Thank God I found a dealer in the U.S. who cared and fixed my car.
If zero stars were an option that's what Steele would get.
***UPDATE: After 3 weeks of gamesmwith Steele Ford, including avoiding calling Ford Canada back after numerous contacts, Ford Canada is moving forward with negotiating a remedy. Ford Canada has been excellent.
Best Dealer Experience in years! - BmacDonald
I recently purchased a pre-owned Ford F-150 long bed truck from Canso Ford. After searching all over New Brunswick and parts of Nova Scotia for a good used truck, I had just about given up. And after extremely unpleasant experiences with numerous dealers in Saint John,NB, where I live, I had decided to start looking for a dealer in another city where hopefully, I could find honest people who weren't constantly trying to up-sell me to a higher priced vehicle, which co-incidentally they just happened to have in stock or talking about "dealer invoice pricing" or some other typical car-salesman tricks. After remembering that everyone in my home town of Antigonish, NS always seemed to buy from Canso Ford in Port Hawesbury, I decided to look them up online. After finding 2 potential vehicles that I was interested in, I sent in a request for information, and was contacted immediately the next morning and spoke to Brian MacDonald, who to my great relief was straight forward, honest and down to earth. After giving me the exact info I needed, we came to an agreement that if the vehicle was exactly as I expected when I got there, then I would purchase it at the agreed price. Visiting the dealership was a relaxing and enjoyable experience and both Brian and Chris MacEachern were friendly and helpful. I will never buy a Ford from anyone else in the Maritimes after my expeience at Canso Ford. They have got another customer for life.
