I bought a 2019 330i with 52k km, fully inspected and cleared by Brian Jessel. There was a previous issue with the CEL and fuel tank breather, which was serviced before I bought the car. Less than a month into my purchase, the CEL came back and I took the car here for a diagnostic. I also wanted to get 2 other very minor issues checked (both of which I have resolved myself), and they wanted to charge me the standard diag fee (around $300) for each issue. At this point I was already skeptical of this place. Obviously I declined and only wanted to get the CEL done and paid the money. I told the dealership about the previous service history with the fuel tank breather, suggesting that it was the same issue. My service advisor Jonathan, the same one that was in charge of the service before I got the car, insisted that it was not. I trusted him and went ahead with diagnosis, and they suggested me to replace the evap line, quoting a $650 price tag. Unconvinced by this price tag, I took my car to a high-end BMW specializing shop and had the job done for less than $350. The CEL is unresolved. I took my car into that same shop for another diagnostic, which btw, is around $100 cheaper than Brian Jessel. They found an issue with the same fuel tank breather, swapped it out on the same day, and the CEL was resolved. I quickly called Brian Jessel for a refund of the diagnostic fee, which I think is perfectly reasonable given the circumstances of the situation. My service advisor Jonathan initially declined my request, and began to question why I did not continue my services with them, which is highly obvious from their incompetence and uncompetitive rates. He told me his manager would discuss further with me. I have not gotten a call from his manager, and got ghosted by Jonathan when I asked his manager to call me again. Brian Jessel has costed me around $1100 altogether. They charged me for an ineffective diagnosis and led me to pay for an evap line service that I may not have needed. I could've had this dealt with for around $500 had I just taken my car to the indie shop in the first place. This is a case of either dishonesty or incompetence from Brian Jessel, not to mention their unfriendly service and highly uncompetitive rates. You can find an indie shop that will treat you much better for half the price.
