Orlando spent time with me looking under the hood and answering all my questions. His sales approach was not pressuring or pushy, which was a pleasure for me. Once Orlando knew I was interested in the car, we sat down to talk about the details; he told me the price, and explained the promotion that was also available at the same time, which made the decision to buy even easier. We then went to talk to Bory in Finance Dept to work out all the payment details, again a great experience with out heavy pressure to buy things I did not need or want. Orlando kept in touch with me during the few days before I picked up the car and even took the time to made special arrangements to pick up an extra car part I wanted. On pick up day, he connected with me to let me know everything was ready to go and met me right on time. Working with Orlando made a usually stressful experience easy and stress free. Incompetence or Willful Misrepresentation? We were looking to trade my son's 2013 Subaru BRZ (a steal with less than 17,000kms on it) to get him in to an F250. He'd found one he loved at Erinw We were looking to trade my son's 2013 Subaru BRZ (a steal with less than 17,000kms on it) to get him in to an F250. He'd found one he loved at Erinwood, and though it was older and (to my mind, not as nice) it was exactly what he wanted, and I was happy to have him in a vehicle so safe. We have a mechanic shop in the family, so I asked for an assessment on the vehicle from the mechanics at Erinwood in order to determine what we'd be looking at to safety it, as we were buying it 'as is'. We were given an estimate of around $3000 including labour. When considering that in terms of our own cost, I could live with that and was confident in the truck we were looking at. Sadly, that 'assessment' was, at best incompetent, or at worst a willful misrepresentation on the part of Erinwood Ford. Some items were clearly just not even correct - they'd quoted for ball joints, when it was actually the wheel bearing hub assembly, a difference of over $200 more each wheel. They'd totally missed that the brake hydro boost assembly was leaking, which is part of a safety. After having our family assess the truck, we're now faced with a bill of $3000 AT COST for parts alone. Aside from the moral or ethical implications of this, it was known that I was buying this vehicle for my 17 year old son, which seems to imply that Erinwood Ford cares far more about the sale than the safety of it's customers. I realise that buying a vehicle as is it always a gamble. But most people would feel that that gamble is mitigated by having a trained mechanic provide an honest assessment of what is needed for that vehicle to be safe. If one cannot rely on that assessment to be honest and complete, it would seem better to shop elsewhere for a used vehicle. As it stands, we took a very low price for our Subaru (admittedly, our choice to do so), and in addition to the sting of the large profit someone is going to make off that vehicle, we're now looking at well over $4,000 in repairs - making this a very expensive 2004 F250. I would recommend looking elsewhere to purchase anything without a safety, and having your own mechanic assess ANY used vehicle you're thinking of buying from Erinwood Ford. I do feel I have to say that Raj Sumra, who worked with us on this sale was lovely. He wasn't pushy and he made the experience a lot more pleasant than it could have been. It's just disappointing that we should end up feeling so cheated in the end. More
