My 89 year old dad took his 2011 Toyota Venza to Whitby Toyota for service. They always treated him like gold. His car had 322,000 km on it and it was time to replace it. We thought of purchasing a used car as prices have increased since Covid. When we went to the dealer the salesman asked if we considered a new car. I said no but he advised the price difference between old and new is minimal. Within the hour my dad purchased a new car with full warranty. Honestly the service department is fantastic. They know how to treat people and they don’t try to sell you something you don’t need. The car sales people are just perfect. Again, they didn’t try to sell us something we didn’t want. Our experience was excellent every time we visited. I highly recommend Whitby Toyota. More
Historically, my experience with Whitby Toyota has been positive. The purchasing process was excellent, and they are generally great for oil changes and routine maintenance. However, I am seriously beginning to question their competency when it comes to complex diagnostic work. My RAV4 developed software issues and a check engine light came on. The service department’s solution was to replace the entire computer, which cost me over $2,000. Now, less than a year later, the exact same problem has recurred. When you spend that kind of money on a major repair, you expect the root cause to be fixed. Now I am left questioning either the honesty or the skill level of the technicians handling complex jobs. Fine for basic maintenance, but I would be very cautious trusting them with expensive electrical or software repairs. More
