Transmisssion troubleshooting and Repair My 2008 Toyota Camry engine light came on and the diagnosis showed a P2716 code,Another Toyota dealer said a new transmission and TCM would be requ My 2008 Toyota Camry engine light came on and the diagnosis showed a P2716 code,Another Toyota dealer said a new transmission and TCM would be required at a cost of around $6000.Toyotatown did a diagnostic check indicating a faulty solenoid and recommended a visual inspection of the transmission prior to replacing the solenoid.The visual inspection revealed no issues with the transmission so the solenoid was replaced at a total repair cost of $1000.The service advisor Mike Minarsky was thorough in explaining what was happening and the costs involved .He communicated well and confirmed our discussions by email.He really took care of me.The work has just been completed and hopefully everything will be fine.
