A breath of Fresh Air! I've had many experiences over my 60 + yrs of buying and selling vehicles. I've bought 4 new jeeps at one particular place 30 minutes outside of Edmo I've had many experiences over my 60 + yrs of buying and selling vehicles. I've bought 4 new jeeps at one particular place 30 minutes outside of Edmonton for over 10 yrs. This dealership was sold to a new bunch of owners a few years ago.. and I was worked over hard last time, I'm a woman so I often have to fight this mentality from sales people. I did, however, get worn down last time and ended up buying something, although it was a new jeep, was not what I wanted. It was a 2 door, more meant for a young person.. not me. I was told it would tow my travel trailer, they were wrong. I had even sent them an email before buying it with indications that it was not wise to tow a large 2500 pd travel trailer with the Jeep JK, even though it could pull the weight, legally. Think tail wagging the dog scenario!!! I was taken into the managers office and worked on for about an hour as to why that wasn't true. I finally reluctantly agreed as they had already taken my vehicle away and had me in a loaner for the previous 2 days or so. I ended up putting my travel trailer up for sale because of it (still not sold.. and it is now a financial hardship on me) and purchased an older motorhome. STRIKE ONE! Then I realized right after taking possession, the air conditioner didn't work. I took it into the dealership and they said they needed to order the part. 2 months later, Edmonton got severe heat warnings from Environment Canada. I ended up trapped in my Jeep JK on the Whitemud coming home from work as a police officer pulled someone over to ticket them for something,.. and traffic backed up to a dead standstill for miles. I was seriously thinking of either jumping the median or abandoning my vehicle out of panic I was soooooo hot! I started to have heart palpitations and was so scared in that heat... then, I was terrified to even go home from work the next day for fear of it happening again. I called the dealership and they got very irritated with me and told me if I didn't like waiting for my part which was being sent in an allotment of 2 per month with a waiting list of 70 people... to phone the Chrysler dealer and complain to them. STRIKE 2. (New Jeep, bought 4 1/2 months ago, paid 56,000 including a $3889.00 extended warrantee). I did the math, that meant waiting 2.9 YEARS! Then, after transferring my call to the Sales Managers voice mail... nothing, no one returned my phone call until a few days later when the Salesman who had originally pressured me into buying this vehicle called and wanted to "make it right" by selling me another new vehicle. STRIKE 3 THEY'RE OUT! I ran as fast and as hard as I could... NO WAY.. Never, ever again! I looked online and found good reviews for Great West Chrysler in West Edmonton. I called their parts department and they said for sure, they would order my part and although it WAS backlogged by Chrysler, they would have it within weeks. They were so nice and kind and told me they would be glad to become my service department even though I hadn't bought this jeep through them. It was like a breath of fresh air. I called back that next day and asked to speak to a salesperson about a Jeep Sahara ad they had posted online. I told reception my situation and asked if it would be possible to get my loan bought out and get into a different Jeep (Love Jeeps!) She said yes, it was likely possible and transferred my phone call to a very lovely lady. I went to Great West Chrysler after work that day and found out that my lovely Sales Lady was a University Student working part time. She was immigrated from Egypt and working part time to pay for her schooling. They have many University students working in various areas at this location. I was so impressed by the ownership and how they clearly care about our young people and how amazing it was to talk with another young University fella there (forgot his name, another sales rep) and hear how the business was so good to him while he, also, worked to make his was through school. My Sales Lady, Miss Awesome.. was very helpful and not pushy or aggressive but just helped me find what I wanted. The Manager assisted her with the "closing" aspects while she was there, he too was very nice... no liars, no nasty pushy salesmen... just nice people putting you together with awesome vehicles! Wish I could remember everyone's name and give them all a shout out.. they are all so awesome! I walked out of there yesterday with my 2019 firecracker red on black Jeep Sahara Unlimited and am living my dream! All for $50 less than I was paying for my 2018 Jeep JK.. with only 2 doors. Yes.. longer payment plan as I requested, but they also assisted me with a fractional cost for a redo on my warrantee that I'd purchased 4 1/2 months before for $3880. I also feel so good to have been able to help my lovely sales lady along her University career path by giving her the commission rather than a pushy aggressive salesman who lied through his teeth to an older widow lady who trusted him. GREAT WEST CHRYSLER, EDMONTON.. thank you so much, I love you guys and you're my new home!!! Thank you, lovely sales lady, Youmna Mahmoud, you're not only lovely, you have a beautiful and kind heart. There is a loving awesome spirit of genuine caring at this location. Thank you guys too for supporting our future generation and showing them what a real salesperson can be.. being decent and good.
