Before I even opened my mouth they were trying to sell me a new car. They didn't ask what my needs were. They barely looked me in the eye. When they did finally "appraise" my current car, the offered a vague number in the same sentence as telling me what possible repairs they would have to charge me for. In other words starting to haggle me before I even said a word. This is an awful place with a despicable work ethic. You are not a customer. You are a not a person, you are a mark. Good thing they suck at their jobs otherwise I may have been roped in to dealing with these hustlers. More

We stopped by the dealership to ask about them and Jae and David explained what they were (from the train tracks nearby) and removed them for us. They went the extra mile to do a good job and alleviate our concerns. More

Just What I Needed Someone else who posted here had pretty much the identical experience to mine. My 5 year old (and much loved) 2010 Elantra Touring wagon was written off leaving me without a vehicle and an insurance cheque for not enough money to buy a new car. Fortunately, when I stopped by, David Shafir showed me a used 2012 Elantra Touring with only 30, 000 km on it. It was in immaculate shape and just within my price range. (I had paid off my 2010 and wasn't looking to have another monthly car payment). David was a great help, answered all my questions and concerns about buying a used vehicle and ensured that the car was washed, detailed and fueled for my pick up appointment. He did a great job for me and I'm sure he would for you too. Terry Jones was also great to deal with and walked me through all the paperwork easily and efficiently. More
CUSTOMERS BE WARNED I've been storing and swapping my winter and all season tires here for 4 years (bought my winter tires from them in 2011). At the past service appoint I've been storing and swapping my winter and all season tires here for 4 years (bought my winter tires from them in 2011). At the past service appointment for tire swap, I waited over 3 hours because they purportedly could not locate my tires, and - worst of all - my vehicle eventually returned from their off-site garage with mismatched tires that are in horrible condition and made in different years. In short, these clearly were not the same tires I had entrusted to Downtown Hyundai for storage over the past winter season. The all season tires that I had stored through them were the stock tires that came with vehicle, and have been regularly rotated and evenly used. They have healthy tread depth remaining given the vehicle's low mileage - 67000km on two different sets of tires (winter and all season). The tires that are now mounted on my vehicle are obviously mismatched and did not originate from the same source. They were made in different years (as shown by the serial numbers). Two of the tires had less than 1/3 of the tread depth remaining as compared with the other two. The two tires with no treads left had cracks all over the tire surfaces, while the other two tires bore significant cuts and abrasions and looked like they had been repeatedly rammed into. I raised the issue with the service manager (Peter Kakaletris) and general manager (Sandy Glover) right away. Their dismissive attitude could not have been less helpful - basically said there was nothing they could do and I was to wait till end of season to see if any tires happen to be left over. Instead of going to the shop to investigate while the problem was still fresh, they were mainly concerned with getting me to leave the dealership premises. At that appointment and through subsequent emails, the general manager Sandy Glover refused to acknowledge the apparent problem or engage in even a basic discussion about the merit and substance of my concerns. Instead, her only argument was that Downtown Hyundai's tire storage/retrievel process guaranteed that these mismatched/worn out tires had to be mine. It was no use explaining to her that all business processes ought to be measured by their outcomes, and that it's fallacious to discount problematic outcomes that clearly impugn the underlying process especially when the process in this case cannot possibly be watertight. Ms. Glover had no answer to the simple fact that the tires given to me were made in different years and are so mismatched that they could not have been the stock tires that came with my vehicle or originated from any singular vehicle. I even had the Hyundai dealership that I bought my vehicle from confirm in writing that these tires could not have been my stock tires. Moreoever, I repeatedly offered to make available a complete set of ALL my service records/receipts since my vehicle was purchased, which records show that Downtown Hyunda is the ONLY service provider that has swapped/stored my tires. But my offers were never even acknowledged. No amount of facts or common sense could get management to engage in a constructive conversation with me. I made it clear to the dealership that all I wanted was my tires back, given that I felt extremely unsafe driving my family on a set of mismatched tires of unknown origin. If my tires have been lost (or purposely "misplaced"), it was Downtown Hyundai's basic obligation to compensate the cost of procuring/installing a comparable set of used tires of reliable origin, which probably only amounts to a few hundred dollars and would be nothing compared to the businesses I've given them throughout the years. However, my multiple attempts at good faith private resolution only proved futile, and management NEVER offered me a solution - much less an apology. Frankly, if Downtown Hyundai management or ownership had just apologized and acknowledged their mistake (whether negligent or intentional), I would never post this review or consider pursuing other formal/public channels of resolution. But given the way they choose to conduct business and treat a long time customer despite being afforded multiple opportunities to rectify the situation privately, it's a matter of principle that I must warn other customers about this dealership.
