After many weeks of scrutinizing the marketplace and enduring the dogged pursuit of retailers with questionable ethics, it began to look as though "his" dream (machine) was never going to materialize. Disappointment festered, tensions rose, and now there were 2 cranky people in the household. That is, until he asked me if I'd like to go for a drive to check some truck somewhere. I had nothing to lose. I knew the drill. I refused to get my hopes up. In fact, I worked to keep them at bay. We drove into the dealership. Beautiful shiny vehicles all over the place. I sighed. These were clearly out of our price range. I decided I would just wait in the truck, the old truck, 'cause I was pretty sure there wasn't going to be any truck buying that day. How wrong I was. In we went, where we were warmly greeted by the manager and then I was introduced to the fellow my husband had been dealing with. Rudolf Chan. This young man really impressed me. Clean cut, friendly, and genuine, he was personable and professional at the same time. He managed the "negotiating" foist upon him (some might say haggling, and "some" would prefer to avoid this whole scene) without missing a beat. It was evident that he was willing to go to great lengths to provide exceptional customer service to his customer--both in the pursuit of the perfect vehicle on his behalf, and then with followup after the sale -- and beyond. I called that one!! I'm a stickler when it comes to customer service. I know I can be hard to please. There was nothing lacking. But the truck? Wow! Beautiful. Pristine condition inside and out. So much more than I expected. Bells and whistles, and a sunroof to boot! Niiiiice. Life was good again. You know, there's a saying, "Happy Wife, Happy Life," but I think that's just because it's too hard to come up with something that rhymes with husband. Let's just say that there are no more cranky people in our household now that "he" has his dream machine. And I promised to recognize Rudolf for his remarkable customer service. I am a tad late, and for that I apologize... but I wasn't sure how to go about this, given that I wasn't exactly the buyer. But I think I've covered that. And one more thing that really impressed me was how the staff worked as a team to provide one of their own with the support to ensure total customer satisfaction. Congratulations Rudolf & Thank You!
