Hi, Ark My name is Johnson Li, I am one of the sales manager at 401 Dixie Hyundai. First of all, I want to say thank you for choosing Hyundai and our dealership. I am so sorry to hear of the experience you had. I apologize that sales associate didn't hand you his business card. I will definitely talk to him personally, he is new and still learning. I understood your major concern is regarding the trade-in value of your vehicle, I was the manager on duty during the appraisal that day. Considering the year, model, equipment, mileage and the current condition, as well as the wholesale and retail sales data. Looking at all of those elements I determined your vehicles value to be $3500. Speaking to the MTO value you mentioned in your posting. As I understand it the Ministry of Transportation uses a RETAIL value in order to collect taxes on a higher amount. This eliminates sellers from writing bills of sale for $1 and the purchaser paying a below market value for the vehicle. When we appraise a vehicle we using a wholesale value. Factoring reconditioning, carrying costs, detailing, advertising and of course retail profit. You are correct that your vehicle is worth around $8000 dollars retail, but we start from $3500 and work up to that number with all those other variables factored in. EG 3500 + 1800 recondition + 500 advertising + 300 carrying costs + 1500 mark up = $7600. Most purchasers like to negotiate so we would be able to offer some level of discount from an asking price of $8000. With all that said this isn't meant to be a response of who's right or who's wrong we have a position and you do to, we only wanted to share our side. Because of your inconvenience and experience with the sales rep I'd like to personally offer to work with you towards your goal of purchasing a new or pre owned vehicle for you and your family. I'll offer you a $500 credit towards the purchase. Simply negotiate your best deal and then the credit can be applied to reduce the sale price, or increase the trade in value. We truly want to change this review from a negative to a positive and we will work hard to do that. Please let me know how I can be off assistance. Johnson Li.

I fully understand that the salesman was junior, and will feel sorry if he gets reprimanded. First of all during the day, I was dealing with a Lady by name Maria. when I changed my appointment from noon time to evening, I was not informed that some one else will meet me. I was still expecting to see Maria. I came to know when I reached the dealership that she left at 5PM. OK no problem, but it would have been nice, if I have been told so. What is more painful was the whole manner i met the treatment, my car valued at much much lower value and at point blank told that this final. To add salt to injury, no senior person was with the sales person to teach him as how to deal and negotiate. I expected a more experienced person to come forward and tell me on my face as why my car is valued at that vale (I have traded my car for 6500 at another location by now). And finally thank you very much for your generous offer of 500$. I do not want to continue the subject anymore and this is my last response. I really feal sorry for the poor salesman.
