We were charged extra ($1105)on a used car for a rust prevention device that was pre-installed (i.e. already paid for by the original owner). We failed to read the fine print ( my eyes don't focus properly) and were stuck paying over $3000 for a warranty we clearly said we didn't want. Legally, they can probably get away with what they did, but these people are even more dishonest and unethical than the average car dealer.

I had a very disappointing experience with the service department at Richmond Hill Honda. I brought in my 2018 Honda Civic for an A/C issue — they charged me $226 just for a visual inspection and quoted me $2,779 to replace the compressor clutch, pulley, and coil. Later, I visited a certified local mechanic who simply refilled the refrigerant, and the A/C worked perfectly — no parts were faulty. Clearly, no proper diagnosis was done by the Honda team, and basic checks like refrigerant pressure were completely skipped. Worse, I took a full day off work and spent over 4 hours at their shop just to be misled and upsold on unnecessary repairs. The technician also refused to perform the fuel pump recall, claiming minor wiring under the seat was in the way — even though it could have been removed with a screwdriver in minutes. Extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism, poor service, and inaccurate diagnosis. I’ve reached out for a refund and will escalate this to Honda Canada, OMVIC, and Consumer Protection Ontario if it's not resolved. Do yourself a favour and get a second opinion before approving any repairs here.

I wouldn’t trust these guys to fix the chain on my bicycle. I brought my truck, which I had purchased there a few years before, in to fix a tire that was unsafe. I told them I only had a hour as I had to be home to get my daughter from school. More than 2 1/2 hours later instead of fixing the tire they did all the recalled stuff, which was minor, without my permission and then sent me on my way with an unsafe vehicle and told me I would have to make another appointment to have the tire fixed. Just brutal!

The sales man told us last minute when we came to pick up our car that it’s not ready for pickup even though we confirmed 2 hours prior to leaving our house. We live 2 hours away left work early and this caused a lot chaos. Then when the managers came they didn’t promise anything the man said and told the sales man to leave because he told you he would provide a resolution and compensate us. The managers infront of my face told the sales man to leave as he promised us things they could not provide us with. After all this mess they didn’t provide and resolution other than have my car delivered to my house which wasn’t enough for the inconvenience this caused.

I have bought a honda from this dealership since 1997 and I would have to say that this dealership has gone downhill. My sales person who assisted with my lease was fantastic. I have known Jenny since 1997 when I leased my first vehicle. She is a beautiful person (she came to my house after my husband passed away in 2022). This lease process was fine but the delivery experience was terrible Bantu (I can't remember his name) did the best he could - the delivery people are overworked and thus the process is not good. I was at the dealership for 2 hours - I felt like I was in an emergency ward. This needs to change or you will loose customers. Personally I will not be referring people to this dealership - even though we have 3 owners from our family work with this dealership in the past. I would have loved some sort of compensation for my time - example - in the past "loyalty" was as high as $2000.00 now it is down to $700.00 - ugh. A bump in loyalty would have been nice. Anyways, with all of their cutbacks, they will run into more problems with people not returning. I know they can do better. Hassan saved the day with the time he spent with me going over the video - you need more employees like him and Jenny.

I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. I purchased a used car and noticed during the test drive that the vehicle displayed an oil change reminder. When I picked up the car, the reminder had been cleared, which led me to believe the oil had been changed. However, later that same day, I received a warning that the engine oil level was very low. When I contacted the dealership, they admitted they hadn’t changed the oil but had simply reset the notification—without informing me. This lack of transparency and basic responsibility is extremely disappointing. Never trusting this dealership again.

Terrible experience with financing options and the salesman. We left the dealership because we told them we are not trying to haggle we just don’t want expensive payments and this doesn’t match our needs so we left. They called us back to offer more incentives and the cost was way over what we said would be our top budget. It was uncool to offer something yiu can’t even come close to especially once we had already left and said no. I’d be weary of someone who had tons of sales awards on the wall. It doesn’t mean that they are a good salesperson it means they will do whatever it takes to get the sale. There is a difference. We would never go back there they meet the definition of car salesman! He wasted our time and made us think this sale was possible when he knew it wasn’t. We were leaving to go to a different dealership and he called us back promising so much more than he could offer. At the end of the day I’m mad at myself for trusting this person as they were so misleading.

WORST DEALERSHIP EVER. Dalton at the Guelph Wellington motors made it seem like he was giving us a good deal but scammed us 40 thousand extra. He promised us it would be 38 thousand dollars and it ended up being 68 thousand !!! He said it was the best for my credit and my options. A single mom of 3. Payments are 400 BY WEEKLY !! Don’t go there !!! Scams. They don’t care to help. They just want financial gain.

I flew from Edmonton to pick up a 2004 Ford Thunderbird that I had only seen in a picture and was impressed with the condition of the car which was beyond expectations. Lukas was very helpful and answered all my questions regarding the car. Sandra Hoyte was very helpful also. I don’t know of another dealership that would pick someone up at the TO airport which was really appreciated. I even talked to the previous owner that was a bonus. Seriously bad customer service, highly not recommended. Got the time to inspect a car when reached person was not available and no one else could show the car. Waited for the sales person to come back and when he came back rather coming to us he started chatting with his colleagues. When we approached him he handed us over the keys and disappeared. As we didn’t like the car we handed over the keys back and asked about a car parked in next spot. When he told me the price I just said that it seems like higher than market price and sales person rather trying to explain me why it is priced higher than market started telling me that you have no clue about that car and you should not even looking at and left us there with a comment that go on web and if you find a better price of same model I will give it to you. Based on that challenge I sent him a same model car from another dealer and he said ok I will talk to my manager. The sales person was rude and unprofessional highly not recommended.

The car in warranty and service is denied with a manufacturing defect that I got done from another dealership. never returned to such a dealership. Was shocked when the service manager had the same attitude and zero customer care.

We had nothing but trouble with our 2018 Ford Escape. In March 2025, we paid for an extensive diagnosis and then almost $7000 in repairs. Two months later they said the car needed another $5000 in repairs. We decided instead to trade it in. Luckily the dealership had a Mazda on the lot. The negotiation was questionable at best (they said one thing but at the last minute put in a different number for our trade-in value) but we ultimately traded in ourFord for the Mazda. The final straw was when I went to pick up the Mazda - they charged me over $400 for the diagnosis of the problems with the Ford I was trading in. They needed to diagnose it anyway and so essentially I paid for that. Don't buy a FORD and if you do, don't use this dealership.

BUYER BEWARE!! DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM ICAR THUNDERBAY!!!! This summer I purchased a 2019 Elantra with 40 000 kms on it from ICAR. The car appeared to be in good condition and with low milage. When I brought my car to the carwash however, I barely started to spray the hood and a bunch of paint just wiped off my car. I contacted the sales rep that sold me the car and he said that it was my fault for bringing the car to the car wash. I then went to an auto repair shop and they confirmed that there was definitely something wrong with the paint and that bringing it to the car wash should not have taken off the paint as described. I then emailed the sales rep that sold me the car. He again told me it was my fault for washing my car at the carwash, even though I barely sprayed it, but said that if I got a second quote to fix the paint, they would see what they could do to help me get it fixed. He also claimed that they care about my experience with them and want to help me fix this issue ( LMDAO) . I then sought out a second opinion and quote at a different auto repair shop. I was told by the second car repair shop that not only was it not my fault that the paint came off, and that unless I was holding the pressure washer directly against the paint ( which obviously I did not do), then there was no reason for the paint to come off and clearly there was a defect in the paint. Every single car owner brings their car to the carwash and the paint doesn’t come off like that. This car repair expert told me to just keep contacting the people who sold me the car, because it clearly was a defect with the paint. I have since sent in this quote to icar and they have decided to just ignore my emails and refuse to acknowledge this issue further. My partner has been looking to buy his own vehicle and was interested in a car at icar but has since changed his mind, seeing how they have been treating me. Again, do not buy a car from ICAR THUNDERBAY, I regret trusting them, now I am going to be out an additional 1500$ to repair the paint, when I am already overpaying for the car I got. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE< DON’T FALL FOR IT> THEY WILL NOT ASSIST YOU IF YOU FIND SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CAR YOU BUY FROM THEM >

Went to buy a new vechile...was told it would have winter tires, under coating and a full tank of gas....was jerked around for 3 weeks as salesman was shady as fxxxx...and kept giving excuses about working on those things . After going to management to try to get him to honor, they said he no longer works there and the best was when I though my husband was my cosigner. Turned out I'm not even on the loan. Didn't find that out til I tried to change payment date. But ran my credit so much that my credit took a massive hit so now I can't finance anywhere . DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! They lie about EVERYTHING!! I will find out soon from the dealership if they even did an honest safety as they said it got wet and cannot produce it. I'm hoping to sue!
