Poor sales management In April I returned to Toyotatown to, again, purchase a new vehicle. Through MANY years their service department is still one of the best. When I appr In April I returned to Toyotatown to, again, purchase a new vehicle. Through MANY years their service department is still one of the best. When I approached their sales person was told the Highlander in Grey colour was not available and would not be until end of June or longer. My query as to why one could not be obtained from another related dealership, I was told the sales manager was only wishing to sell off present stock colours only. As a result of his staff orders, I queried other area dealers and purchased the colour and model later the same day. Subsequent to this purchase my Daughter also purchased the same model and a friend bought a trade in vehicle from another location a week later. It appears to me Toyotatown has failed in their sales direction and the loss of $100,000 in sales is of no concern to them. I do hope management reassesses their sales direction for the future. I would still considering using their excellent and customer friendly service department in the future. More

Had talked to Shawn Longworth in 2015 & Feb 2016 about specific models , he provided info & no pressure to immediately buy , ( thats me I always look forward & prerpare in advance ) -now ready to purchase we made appt with Shawn ( spent the time so should reap the rewards ). Since I had the model interested in , he took us over to it in the show room and went through every detail starting with the actual engine compartment ( I actually learned something new & cars are my hobby )- impressed as never happened that way before and we had just finished visiting 2 different dealerships the day before. Test drove , received all pricing details & neogiated a final price plus were provided options for financing although our original intent was to pay cash by cashing in on some of our investments put aside for this occasion. Said that we would think about it, probably check out the competion pricing & get back to him in 2 days, again no pressure to complete the deal immediately but he did remind us that this is a cut throat business and somebody could always give a couple of hundred off , but keep in mind who has spent the time with you.( that last comment alone is worth its weight in gold and so impressive that all commissioned sales staff should not be afraid to remind potential customers of the value of the service that has just been provided to them ) After deciding that it was the Toyota Rav4 XLE that we wanted, due to that statement i did not even bother to check any other dealers to see if a better price was available and feel fully satisfied that we received a fair price - Good for the client , salesperson and the dealership. . More
