Regular service I'm always treated very well at NorthStar, the service adviser always explains all of the work that is to be done. hidden shop fees I found a 12% fee on service to be very deceiving and an underhanded way to charge a higher price. when a price is posted or verbally given to a cust I found a 12% fee on service to be very deceiving and an underhanded way to charge a higher price. when a price is posted or verbally given to a customer it should be the total price with or without GST which is mentioned at the time. Just build the fee in or be equally upfront about it as your regular charges. hiding it in the fine print and mentioning that competitors do it to is a bad way to explain it to a customer. Great People/Service too slow. I think there could be better ways of being more efficient in the service department. My truck wasn't ready until 4pm for just an oil change and a tir I think there could be better ways of being more efficient in the service department. My truck wasn't ready until 4pm for just an oil change and a tire rotation. I had also brought my truck in because of rust on the front bumper. (which has nothing to do with rock chips) The truck has not even been in my possession for a year. No way it should have rust, not for a $80K vehicle. I also wanted the brakes checked to see why they were squeaking but they never found a solution for this problem. They only measured the brakes and they were fine. My brakes are still squeaking. Regardless, the body shop guy (can't remember his name) was extremely nice regarding my bumper rust and so was my service lady (Brittany). They did awesome. No problems with their customer service. I would have gave them 5 stars. In future why wait until the truck is done ins service and has to be driven to the body department. Have someone come and assess the vehicle while it's getting serviced to save time. Then the bodyshop person will then know before hand if or what should be done. In closing, this is why I like going to drive through oil change places. Quick and painless and I've never had an issue. This is also why I didn't get the maintenance package. With the dealership it takes a few days to get in and then you have to wait with no vehicle for the entire day which is a bit frustrating. More

Poor follow up They called a few times and since the line was busy they sent an e-mail, but we were waiting for a phone call. What A Long Way You've Come! When I first started going to Northstar in 2013/14 the service was awful...so awful I wrote to the CEO of Ford Canada. I don't know of course what went on from there but all I can say is now I wouldn't bring my vehicle anywhere else. Everyone is friendly (they weren't before) & they make me feel like they really value my business...and yes, I have written to the CEO about that too. Of course it goes without saying they do a great job on my vehicle. So thank you Northstar for hearing your customers. And what a fabulous thing to do for the evacuees of Ft Mac...generous beyond words. A very special thank you for that. More
