I purchased a GLS 450 from Silver Star in August 2020. From the first highway drive to Toronto I noticed a very strong vibration in the floor, steering wheel and seats at highway speeds. That was the beginning of a nightmare which has taken over my life for the last 14 months.
After more than a dozen visits to service, they were never able to fix the issue. It was only 2 weeks ago that they ran a special diagnostic test only to conclude that the vehicle is operating normally. If this is how a GLS is supposed to drive, no one should make the mistake of buying one! The wheels feel as though they are about to fall off their axles and the shaking feels very unsafe and is very unsettling when on the highway.
I escalated the issue to Gerry Girouard, the General manager, requesting a buyback, since by then I had already wasted a year of my life on this, a year that they spent dragging me along and beating around the bush. Here is his final response: "We regret that you have experience (sic) some concerns with your vehicle. The dealership has been addressing them according to the terms and conditions of your vehicle warranty. For these reasons we cannot honour your request to refund you the purchase of your vehicle [...]".
I don't see how my concerns have been addressed, since 1) the car is still shaking and 2) they're now denying there's even anything wrong with it! A small gesture of good faith and/or willingness to settle the issue would have gone a long way.
Moral of the story, don't have problems with your car if you buy it from SilverStar, as you'll end up eating the depreciation while they take their time not fixing the vehicle only to later tell you there's nothing wrong with it.

I hope this doesn't happen to all their customers, but my experience with this dealership is a bad one. I'm not going to comment on their prices too much, they're not horrible and the personnel isn't exactly "unfriendly" but they just don't give a damn about you. If you have a question about your lease, forget about it. My lease was ending in less then a month so I decided to give them a call to get an estimate to extend the lease just to see, and also where and when I need to drop my Volvo off. It took me the whole month to actually get in touch with a person that knew anything. The secretary just kept transferring me to different people that never answered their business or cell phones and never called me back despite many messages I had left. I finally somehow luckily got in touch just before my lease ended. I was very frustrated and tired of this dealership so I decided to go for a different brand of car because I can't take cooperating with them any more. Definitely not a pleasant experience. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
