Hi Kevin, There must be a misunderstanding here somewhere. The 110% of market value was never intended to be 110% of the retail sale price of comparable vehicles on the market. We are paying 110% of the market value of your trade in, which we have offered, and I again offered to improve upon for you in my last email to you. There isn't 0% or a $4000 rebate being offered from Toyota Canada on the Highlander. That is why the email you received doesn't assume that you are buying another Highlander. At the time the correspondence goes out, we don't know what vehicle our clients may be interested in and thus we advertise the best program available from the manufacturer. The deal I am working on for you is very aggressive and at this point I thought we were discussing what would work for you. Your public review of our dealership really surprises me at this point. I was certain I would have an opportunity to meet your expectations long before you reviewed us for not being able to.

Yes Kevin, that exactly what I'm suggesting...in fact so is Toyota Canada. The residual value of a 3 year old Highlander Limited with a predicted 60,000km (Yours has 72,000km if I'm not mistaken) is $23,514, and that's on the redesigned model. I offered you $28,000 for your vehicle which by this standard is more than 110% of it's market value. On top of that I offered to increase the value in the hopes of meeting your expectation. Your vehicle is not going to be a $35,000 retail vehicle. If we were to buy it you would see it on our lot for $31,995 which is a very reasonable asking price based on the $28,000+ I offered you. The selling price I offered you for the XLE Demo is $2713 less than the price of a new one ($44,339.40 including the Freight/Hndl which you would pay on a new one and you aren't on the demo), further more, that savings is exactly in line with what you paid on your current vehicle, with the exception of the $4000 cash rebate you received last time that isn't being offered this time. I would however agree with you that in a perfect world we could communicate the exact program details for each vehicle to each client interested in that particular car, but for a variety of reasons that's near impossible for us at the time of the initial communications. I think this is the same in many retail sale industries as it's more than common to see the best promotions leading the advertising campaign. I can completely understand if we weren't able to meet your expectations, or if we feel we've wasted your time, but we absolutely have not scammed you. I have been a member of this Management team since the day this dealership opened it's doors in 2009. Since then we have worked very hard to accumulate the nearly 1000 positive reviews you see here on dealer rater, and to cultivate and grow a business based on the total satisfaction of our clients. I have written these responses privately in the hopes that you will take down this review which is in complete contradiction to everything we stand for here at Toyota on the Park.

Absolutely not Kevin. The numbers are factual, they aren't a "spin" as you put it. Furthermore I can't even fathom the type of person I would have to be to do the things you're suggesting I'm doing. Residual values are set by Toyota Canada. The Average retail market price for your vehicle is $32,187, you can view that yourself on Auto Trader. I offered you $28,000+. The only variable here I can manipulate is the value I've offered you, and I've been more than aggressive and certainly offered you more than the letter would suggest we would do. There are miles between not being able to live up to your expectations and scamming people to get them in and take advantage of them. I would agree your experience lies somewhere in between those two statements, but no one here as scammed you or would attempt do you what you've suggest we are doing.

Are you really suggesting that the trade in value of my vehicle is 25500? (25500 x 110 percent ). If I'm driving a highlander, why wouldn't you mention the incentives for a highlander. Why was your price for the demo so high, if you working aggressively for my business The list price for a new vehicle is almost the same. All just a scam to me.
