Prestons managed an old recall on my car. My car is about 16Y old and was leaking fuel when I had initially brought it in. I was told that the fuel pump assembly or the tank itself may be cra My car is about 16Y old and was leaking fuel when I had initially brought it in. I was told that the fuel pump assembly or the tank itself may be cracked/leaking and that they'd need to further inspect. The VIN was run for any kind of recalls (sorry can't remember the specific term when they run a VIN). I knew this might be a cumbersome task given that the age and make of my vehicle would mean a significant wait and search for parts. I personally did not have a problem understanding that this would occur. I was told a minimum of 1 week, which I understand in some sense that means i'm expected to wait a while. Three months later, with some prodding by a family member, my car was fixed. I am happy that my car is fixed, I just wish there was a better system in place to give proper ETAs for part/repair for such things. My work location and schedule makes it difficult for commuting without a reliable vehicle. There was a lot of bussing, ubering, cabbing, walking and free-loading rides from friends and family at all hours of the day and night (whom I love dearly). I had rented a vehicle with my BCAA membership initially, but even with the discount, this was expensive on my budget for lengthy periods (i'm also already paying for car insurance and extended-they told me I could not claim this either). I also borrowed my dad's truck for the 2 weeks prior to having my vehicle repaired. Overall, I am happy with my service and car getting fixed, I just wish there was better communication with ETAs on GMs half. Preston's service people handled things well under the circumstances so 10/10 for service/repair (and having to deal with a family member....sorry). It would be nice to have better communication in the future in terms of timing but overall my car is working and I no longer have to worry about exploding into a firey inferno on my way to work. So thanks so much for all of your help :) More
