Hi Brad, we have a diagnostic alignment machine that our customers drive over when they enter the service drive that tells us if there is an alignment issue. We notify customers at that time if their alignment is off and they have a choice to have an alignment performed while they are here. At 6,000kms that is a fair amount of driving, typically 6 months worth. All it takes is one pot hole, a parking curb, or really poor road conditions and the alignment is out. The vehicle veering is not always an indicator that the alignment is out. Performing an alignment is an important part of maintaining your vehicle. We can provide before and after specs of the alignment to verify. If you feel you have a billing issue please call our service manager Sonya directly and she will be happy to go over the work that was performed.

There is no “choice”, as if alignment is not done, probably would have voided any bumper to bumper warranty on suspension or shocks. 6000 kms is not a lot for 10 months, has never been off road, and no pot holes or curbs were hit. There should have been an inspection for possible suspension warranty issue, but none was offered or performed at my suggestion. I will insist on this if it happens again. I think a free wheel alignment offer would go a long way, especially for a brand new vehicle in any kind of breaking in period. I’ve subsequently discussed with friends and families that own trucks, no one experience alignment issue for normal driving even if they’ve hit a curb or pothole. Only way to make this right is to credit my account the $200. If you wish to do this, please let me know.
