Hello this is Leigh Heppner, General Manager at Preston GM. Firstly, I’m very sorry for your experience. I understand we have had one of the members of our management team involved and I am hoping we can come to an understanding. I understand that you wanted Michelin tires on the truck you ordered but we do not have control over what tires come with the vehicle. In some circumstances we can choose a specific option, but that option is almost never a specific brand. A specific model of tire would always have to come at an extra cost. I believe there was some miscommunication regarding the appointment time also – we can always accommodate ‘topping up’ a customer’s tires in our service driveway. If there is a fault in the tire pressure monitoring system we would need it diagnosed by a technician and that could take some time. Although I understand that you just purchased the vehicle and would expect quicker service either way, the representative who took your call was unaware of your recent purchase. I agree that she should have been aware of it, so please know that we’re taking this feedback as an opportunity to improve our processes. Once again, I sincerely apologize for the miscommunication and you should be expecting to hear from a member of our management team about the concerns.

We understand you could not dictate to the factory what tires you could put on but my brother forcefully said that it didn’t matter what tires came with it, it HAD to have Michelins on it when we picked it up. Nothing was said about an extra coat or we could have dealt with that at the time of ordering. If the factory tires are so good, why is there such a problem with getting the Michelins? The girl at the service desk did know I had just purchased it and got it days before because I was stunned that I would have to wait 22 days to get this matter seen to. I thought she would tell me to come down for a quick top up or for someone to take a look at the tires that day and if needed, then make an appointment but no, I couldn’t get in until Nov. 30.

Hi there, we spoke to our service team about this situation and hopefully we can provide some clarity. As your first visit was not a service appointment (but rather a quick drop-in consultation with our team), there was not a work order created at the time and the warranty was not looked at either. When the vehicle was brought in for service after 60000 km, the warranty was not applicable but a goodwill warranty was offered as a courtesy. From what we understand, it was then the customer's decision to pay out of pocket instead. Please let us know if we can provide any additional information.
