We just wanted to browse the lot to see if there was something we would be interested in. The salesman was friendly and we told him we would come back on Monday to take one we were interested in for a drive. Went back on Monday, took it for a spin and then the interesting stuff started. I offered a price - that was too low for them, countered and they came back with a "today only" deal. I was not going to drop any amount of money that day as I needed to think on it, work out my finances. The sales guy tried, but I said, I'm sorry - there is NO way a deal is happening today. The sales "kid" came out, started rambling on about how "he might not give us that deal tomorrow" to which I said "I'll take my chances". Then the discussion went to finances - did I want to finance or what. I said I don't know, I may want to just pay for it. The finance "kid" said, "what kind of person drops the entire amount of cash on a vehicle that depreciates as soon as you drive it off the lot?" At that point I was done. I went home, thought what the xxxx?? Didn't they want to sell one car today? I sent an email to the sales guy and told him that the ginger "kid" was the deal breaker. No way, not ever, would never recommend them. While we were there I heard someone else on the phone with (I assume) a customer saying, "okay, well come back in and I'll make you happy"...... Ended up getting a higher end vehicle for $3K less somewhere else. More

After discussing term and giving a $1000 down payment we determined my monthly payments would be $530. The day after I picked up my truck I received a phone call stating they filled out the wrong paperwork and would be returning my $1000. My monthly payment went up to $615 a month, I was manipulated and lied to by there sales manager, sales person, and finance. They were unwilling to work with me to lower these payments and were VERY concerned that I give them a 100% positive review on there customer satisfaction survey. I would strongly caution anyone to shop around before going to Northstar. More
Worst Dealership Experience! I bought a pre-owned certified 2010 Ford F-150 from Northstar Ford about 2 months ago. I got a flat tire the other day and I noticed that the spare tire they had provided with the vehicle was not even for this truck. The rim wholes did not fit my truck. Talk about the vehicle being Ford certified. Instead of being able to change the tire myself and get on with my day I had to have them tow it to the dealership. The next day I spoke with them and told them they sold me the vehicle with a wrong spare tire and that I wanted them to give me the right one, since I don't even get how that passed the inspection in the first place. They wanted to sell me two new tires, instead of replacing the spare. When I finally got the manager to agree over the phone to give me the right spare tire I got to the dealership and they did not even change it for me or apologize for the inconvenience they had caused. The manager made me walk to a back room where they had a used dirty spare tire and I had to take it all the way out to the service building myself without them ever asking me if I needed assistance for anything. They even wanted to charge me for the tire inspection which they clearly did not need to do since I told them more then once on the phone that the tire was not repairable. The manager had a rude attitude, and even wanted me to thank him for waiving the $17 inspection fee saying he was feeling very generous. What kind of customer service is this?! Should I have thanked him for selling me a car with a bad spare tire even though their inspection point checklist checked it off as good?? Also, the sync function in the truck did not even work which is another one of their point inspections. They also told us before they handed the car to us they would detail it to make sure we would receive it clean but when I received the vehicle I found garbage on both the seat pockets and it was dusty just the way it was when I test drove it. I did not bother with any of those things since its really not a big deal to me. In other words, this dealership did not live up to any of the things they where supposed to. I will never go back there again and will certainly not recommend it to any one. More
Sub-standard workmanship and high prices I purchased a new F150 from this dealership. I felt I was pressured into signing the deal, and I later worked out that I could have bought the same truck elsewhere for THOUSANDS $$$ less.... I did push for the "best" price and gave signs I was serious to buy. They pushed back wanting to secure my business, which is fair enough but then the Sales Manager gave me age old tactic saying they were "losing money on the deal" and showed me a spreadsheet on his computer that had a negative margin against it for the dealership. I signed (stupidly) as I was in a hurry, with my wife and 2 children (1 newborn) waiting....I wish I could have my money back now. This dealership used all the age-old tactics which I believe to be unethical including 'hiding' dollars within my trade (told me they were giving me more when they obviously hid numbers within the trade to buffer their margins). Shame on me for not properly shopping around but lesson learned about this dealership. Buyer beware of the tactics at play at Northstar Ford in Calgary. I often wonder WHY dealerships like Northstar are run by people who seemingly miss the simple part of successful business.... the customer... and that simple word of mouth (and forums such as this) are in the end only going to hurt their business unless they commit to ethical practice and adopt a CUSTOMER FIRST philosophy. To the dealer principal (if you ever read this).... how many potential buyers do you think will read this review and how much business will you lose from it? Sadly, you will likely never know. Post "deal" experience... even after I consider that I paid TOP DOLLAR for this truck, I would have thought that the accessories I had agreed purchased as part of the deal would be fitted professionally. The workmanship was AWFUL. Bed liner fitted without cleaning dirt and rocks from the bed first (left the bed all scratched up underneath the liner), mud flaps were incorrectly fitted which has left extra drilled holes in my truck.... $700 for PDI, and the job was terrible - dust all over the dash, paintwork not thoroughly cleaned. Wheel liners fitted and screws to secure them properly were missing. I complained to FORD customer service about this and they passed it back to the customer service at the dealership. I have heard NOTHING since. I highly recommend you purchase elsewhere if shopping for a new Ford. More
Took our service truck to the Cochrane dealership to get a new diesel engine installed. What a mistake !!! From them calling back to say we needed brakes, driveline work, springs, fuel system work yada yada a new diesel engine installed. What a mistake !!! From them calling back to say we needed brakes, driveline work, springs, fuel system work yada yada yada I'm like, we only want an engine installed. Then they kept delaying when we could pick it up. Supposed to be ready on monday, go there, no sorry now tuesday, on and on for the whole week. You ask them to phone you, well you might as well get a rock to do it.... Same result. Long story short, the technicians in Cochrane don't know what their doing!!! Period. And that owner , Marty, that you hear on the radio, biggest scam artist on the planet. My advice is to stay as far away from these jerkoffs as possible. More
I saw a jeep wrangler online, showed interested. Made a verbal deal of $22,000 and said I would come in to put the deposit down. I get there with a certified cheque, and all of a sudden they say they want verbal deal of $22,000 and said I would come in to put the deposit down. I get there with a certified cheque, and all of a sudden they say they want $22,800 for it. I was offended but really wanted the jeep so I didn't care, I make good money. After the Finalization of that deal I go upstairs and get talked into a 3 year warranty (he forgot to verbally mention or 144k, the jeep had 85K on it. I won't get to 144k in 3 years, so I agree and pay $3K for a warranty because I'm the type of person that doesn't want to worry about repair bills and losing large sums of money if the tranny blew or whatever. ANYWAYS, I was also encouraged to pay for a 3 year tire warranty, on a set of really worn tires, to later find out they come with a 1 year warranty free of charge anyways. As "Jodi" broke down the taxes and final cost he quickly skimmed through a $650 "admin fee" I was never told about. By this time I'm just so frustrated and don't care about money I was just saying yes to everything so they'd shut the xxxx up and give me the keys. Worst experience and worst customer service I've ever had, even though they'll shake your hand with a smile like they didn't just screw you huge. As I was given the record for maintenance and inspection done in their shop, it had different mileage and was a different year, but the VIN numbers matched, so they assumed the maintenance guy mixed his papers up but I should trust them that it was all done, like I said I was frustrated enough I just nodded my head wanting to get in my new jeep. I knew after I left the terrible customer service wouldn't matter. BUT WAIT!! After I leave, the next morning the battery is friggin dead in it. I'm stranded and have to wait for "Chris" to drive all the way from the NW to the SW to give me a boost. I get back to my house, it dies again. I have to drive the thing all the way back to the dealership for them to put a new battery in it. Complete waste of my time!! In conclusion, Northstar ford can shove it. Biggest scam artists and unprofessional car dealer I've ever been to. More
Heard about "fantastic" deals so I went to check it out. I spent a couple of hours dealing on a ford escape and finally signed on the dotted line and gave them a deposit. The vehicle I purchas check it out. I spent a couple of hours dealing on a ford escape and finally signed on the dotted line and gave them a deposit. The vehicle I purchased was not at the dealership and so it had to be brought in on Monday. I finally heard back on Tuesday that the vehicle had been sold to someone else but fortunately they could bring in a similar vehicle for just a few dollars more! I went back to the dealership to find out what was going on. The sales manager explained that the vehicle I bought did not exist and that they could get me a different one for more money. I told him that i had no interest in their " bait and switch" tactics and I wanted my money back and would go somewhere else. I was able to get my money back but I don't know if the next customer will be so lucky. Steer clear of Northstar Ford - they aren't worth the risk. More
My husband and I were looking for the F-150. We went to NORTHSTAR Ford because it was close to home. Thinking all Ford dealerships would be the same price, discounts etc. Wow we're we wrong. We took the o NORTHSTAR Ford because it was close to home. Thinking all Ford dealerships would be the same price, discounts etc. Wow we're we wrong. We took the one truck that was shown to us for a 10 min test drive. We liked it but my husband told the salesperson he thought the steering was pulling to one side. The salesperson said he could have the wheel alignment checked.....it's a brand new truck with 70km on it!!! We went back to his office and he did some quick numbers and went to talk to the manager. Came back with a price that we weren't crazy about. Asked about some other discounts (did you know Ford gives Costco members $1000. off???) they said no. We asked if they could throw in a remote car started. Sales guy went back to talk to manager. We still weren't sure because of the cost and the high payments, said we would think about it. When then get a call from the sales manager saying he was sure he could make something work for us, he got the payments down to what was reasonable. Asked us to come in and we could go over everything. Long story short, sales manager sat in the office with the sales guy who hovered over us pushing the paper closer us repeatedly and touching the pen as if to cue us to sign.......we then went to the finance office to complete the paperwork for a loan. As we were leaving the finance guy stopped us and said he needed $1000 as a deposit.......I questioned this and he said $500 would be good.......foolishly I gave it to them. The deal was not sitting right with me and I called another dealership for a quote and didnt mention that I had already looked at one. It was significantly less with more features. I asked if they required any sort of deposit etc. NO!!! We decided not to purchase the truck from NORTHSTAR Ford. They were notified that we would not be purchasing it. We then got a call from the sales guy who said he "heard a dirty little rumor that we weren't buying their Ford" Needless to say they did not return our $500. What a lesson we learned. Every dealership is separately owned. My advice, shop around and buyer beware of NORTHSTAR Ford in Calgary More
I used to have good service when this dealership was Crowfoot Ford. Since it was bought out, I find the customer service is pretty poor. They cannot schedule appointments properly. They charge for diagn Crowfoot Ford. Since it was bought out, I find the customer service is pretty poor. They cannot schedule appointments properly. They charge for diagnosis on top of doing the work. They should deduct the diagnosis fee if you get the work done there like they used to do under Crowfoot Ford. The service people at the front desk talk as though I do not know anything about cars. I only go there now to get things serviced that no other place can do. I would not buy another new vehicle from them. The staff that I knew all moved to another dealership downtown. My vehicle has had major services and mid range services done there over the last 12 months then today they tell me that the tracking has not been done for over 2 years. Just what am I paying for? Sale manager was rude and unprofessional, he called and gave me wrong info about finance possibility, and when I got there, he change his promise and gave me another offer. When I asked him I want to mak gave me wrong info about finance possibility, and when I got there, he change his promise and gave me another offer. When I asked him I want to make sure I will get approved for the second offer and after that I will decide, he asked for 500$ for processing my application (for the car that I have not chosen), and when I refused to pay, he said if I can not pay 500$ deposit I cant afford a car, and asked me to leave. I was confused and angry. All the salesperson try to push buyers, but these guy are doing this in the extreme unprofessional and impolite way. I financed an escape from another ford dealership in NE. Dont go there, they are either very new in their business, or I ran into wrong person. More
