Outstanding Experience I dislike buying a new car, as a single woman. I put this off for over a year. I chose three dealerships, based on what I wanted in a car. She expedited the process and was kind and open to my concerns. I had a great meeting with Mike around financing and other products to support my purchase and Janna made the delivery process a breeze. From my meetings with Michelle to the final pick up, I couldn't be more pleased. On top of that, this Forester is an amazing car and really tops the last three SUV's that I owned. More

Professional, hassle free, friendly and helpful staff. After driving the same car for 12 years, my husband and I decided it was time to buy a new vehicle. A close friend put us in touch with Rick Greensid After driving the same car for 12 years, my husband and I decided it was time to buy a new vehicle. A close friend put us in touch with Rick Greensides at Barrie Subaru. We live in Mississauga, but that was not a problem. When we emailed Rick, he quickly responded advising Michelle Payne was putting together some prices for us and we would hear from her shortly. Within hours Michelle had responded with pricing on the two vehicles we were interested in. After agreeing to purchase a Subaru Forester, Michelle explained delivery may take several weeks, but Rick was trying to locate our vehicle at another dealership. A few days later Rick let us know he had found our vehicle in Toronto. He gave us the choice of taking the vehicle he had located or waiting for the original vehicle which was 5 to 6 weeks away. We agreed to purchase the vehicle he located in Toronto. The entire process took 3 weeks. Our first email was sent to Rick on 11/23/15. Our decision to purchase the vehicle was made on 11/28/15. Rick located our vehicle on 12/1/15 and on December 12, 2015 we picked up our new Forester from Barrie Subaru. The delivery process was quick and easy. Janna was wonderful. After careful review and completion of all the paperwork she thoroughly reviewed and demonstrated all the features on our new vehicle. There was never any pressure from anyone at any time. Mike Hiltz provided us with information regarding the extended warranties, etc, and told us he was available if we had questions or required further assistance. Month Long, $6000 Repair on a Subaru under Warranty I had my wife's base trim 2009 Impreza towed to Barrie Subaru in 2013 after a linkage in the manual transmission failed and shredded its internals, cl I had my wife's base trim 2009 Impreza towed to Barrie Subaru in 2013 after a linkage in the manual transmission failed and shredded its internals, clutch plates and bearings. At the time it was our only vehicle and I explained that to the service manager, but they were not interested in supplying us with a vehicle while the repair was completed. Initially the bill was going to be over $6000 on a 4 year old vehicle with 90k that we had owned since new. The warranty specified was 5 years or 100k on drive-train components. I protested and asked to speak directly to the technician who had assessed the vehicle. He said that the linkage failing was a fluke and caused damage to the other components. It was his opinion that the vehicle was otherwise in good condition and that the entire repair should be covered under warranty. It's my opinion that the service department was interested in making $6000 off me as opposed to less through a warranty channel from Subaru Canada. Eventually, Barrie Subaru did warranty the transmission itself, but stuck me with a $1325 bill for the clutch plates, bearings and labor. The repair took a month (Oct 15 to Nov 12) because no replacement transmission was available in North America. It had to come from Japan. During that month we had to share my in-laws car. When we finally picked up our car, I had real trouble starting it because Barrie Subaru had just left it. It took 20km before the fuel lines cleared and it ran normally. Customer service is obviously unimportant to these people and they just want to gouge you for whatever they can. Forget Sub-par-u, the un-Impreza and this dealership. More
