You guys just don't get it do you. Love the car but I would never recommend you to anyone and I know that I have driven a few sales away from you. In this internet age and my personal acquaintances it is not hard to get the word out about what I feel are unethical business practices. In hind sight I should have just gotten up and left but this is the vehicle I wanted and just decided to get it over with and get the H out of there. Don't you consider the fact that if I had left happy that I would be returning for service and warranty work would over the life of the car would far exceed the paltry amount of extra cash that you put in your pocket at time of sale. Maybe you should hire me as a salesman, however, maybe a salesman who treats all customers in an honest, forthright and all info up front manner is not required of a salesperson at Applewood.

Yes I gave you 3 stars for friendliness, smile while you are sticking it to me. 3 stars for price, yes the price was good, not stellar. Once I got in your finance office the price was not as stated when I initially spoke with Noal, I told Noal I wanted the car on a Saturday, he said there was one in Victoria that he could bring over on Monday and prep it Tuesday and I could pick it up Wednesday. Monday morning Noal phoned me and said the car was ready. When I attended at the dealership I asked Noal if this was the car from Victoria, he said yes, I hardly think so. I hardly think the car was brought over Sunday. A four day process turns into a one day process, as far as I am concerned he lied. I specifically asked for financing through TD, only after I received a letter from BMO saying they held the financing did I know about this. I was charged a financing fee of I believe $695, what a load for a 5 minute process. Was I told about it, NO, I could have walked into any TD in this country and had a cheque in 15 minutes saving myself $695. Where was the honesty and openness in this, there was none. You sprung a $795 documentation fee, are you serious. After contacting a few other dealers I am now aware that the average appears to be $395-495. I wanted replacement insurance on the vehicle, your finance woman steered me toward Intact insurance, much cheaper and a better deal as they insure for 5 years instead of 3 years like ICBC. What she didn't tell me is that Intact only insures the purchase price sans taxes etc so in other words if the car is totalled today I get a cheque for 23,900 as with ICBC I get a new vehicle in my driveway no cost to me. With Intact I am out approximately $8000. Also with Intact $23,900 isn't even what I paid for the car. Yeah your finance department is a real sweetheart, self serving and unethical. I could go on regarding some other things but I feel that I have adequately stated my case. Very unethical dealings from Applewood Kia in my opinion and have received many opinions stating the same from my postings on the internet and have in fact forwarded them to Kia Canada.

Bryan,We are confused by your actions and statements.Lets start with the fact we had the vehicle rushed over from Vancouver Island for you and thought you would appreciate having your vehicle in your hands days earlier. I do have the invoice from the dealer we got it from if you would like to see it.? Also the price of the vehicle given to you was the lowest by any local dealer - hence why we were able to earn your business and this never changed.As for your concerns with any fees or charges,these were explained to you in detail before you signed any papers. If there was any issue with these charges why did you not say something when you were here at the dealership.?

Look this is going nowhere. In my opinion you are a very unethical dealer and your business practices are unsavory. I already mentioned that I should have gotten up and walked but when I go into a deal with low expectations then I find that those expectations are usually met. My thoughts were lets get this over with and get out of here. My fault for staying but the fact remains that your dealership is equal to any negative reputation that car dealers have as is reinforced from similar stories I have heard from my postings on the internet. I do not expect any kind of remedial action by Applewood, heaven forbid that you might want to rectify this situation and have a satisfied customer. Suffice to say that the satisfaction that I receive from chasing customers away from Applewood and giving you a most unsatisfactory customer rating is more than sufficient. As I mentioned before the small amount of dollars I feel that I was cheated out of is miniscule compared to the service and warranty work you would have received, I guess some dealers live in the now without seeing the whole picture. Anyway, you don't have to get back to me, probably delete it anyway, while my efforts to expose your business practices probably won't have much of an effect on your bottom line I rest assured that I have directed sales away from you.

After reflecting on our conversations a thought suddenly struck me. In none of your correspondence did you directly answer any of my complaints about this purchase nor did you explain or defend any of the complaints. Strange don't you think, in my book this only reinforces my opinion that your business practices are highly suspect. An admission of guilt shall we say and I believe that any reasonable person would feel the same way. Anyway, if you can live with being amoral, unethical and in my opinion shameless behaviour so be it, however, that in no manner restricts me from advising others about you which I am so willing to do.
