Suzanne started her career at Helms Bros. in 1982 as a receptionist/biller and over the last 30 years has held many position in the dealership. She has been the General Manager since graduating NADA GM training in 2000. "My passion for the industry has led to an amazing career and an attitude that I impart on all my team members. I am grateful for the opportunity to accommodate the automotive needs for so many clients and continually strive to exceed their expectations always." Suzanne's other interests are health, fitness, reading and anything that pertains to self -improvement. She resides on Long Island with her husband and twin daughters.

This place doesn't feel like a traditional dealership. You aren't greeted by a rude sales associate who follows you around everywhere trying to make a sale. Nor are you continuously being duped by the financial manager trying to inflate sales price one way or another. The experience here is different. Sales associates will of course inquire if you need help. But if you answer no, they leave you alone. They don't go practicing their obnoxious and annoying sales pitches. Nor do they stalk you from the distance. In fact, this place shouldn't even be called a dealership. The word dealership overtime has become synonymous with stealership, always trying to maximize their profits and make you leave the place with massive credit card debts. And granted even Helms Bros is a business and is there to make a profit. But the difference is that it does so while keeping your best interest at heart. Kelvin has been my go to guy since I first met him 2 years ago while purchasing my first Mercedes. He worked hard to guarantee that I can get the GL I desired without having to resort to a build at the factory. At that time, time was paramount due to a situation that is beyond the scope of this review. Since then, whenever I had an issue, Kelvin made the necessary calls to ensure the problem is resolved as quick as possible with the least amount of effort possible. Problems with service was resolved quickly. And all questions were answered promptly and courteously. When it was time to replace my secondary vehicle, I went to him. And now that it was time to replace my primary vehicle, I once again found myself going to Kelvin and Helms Bros. As usual, Kelvin helped me decide what I was looking for in a vehicle. Once that was decided, he was able to located a vehicle that was similarly optioned for me to test drive. During the test drive, I was so impressed with the vehicle that I decided to purchase that exact stock. Fast forward 24 hours later, I was driving away from the dealership with a new GLS550. And yes, not only do I like my cars to go fast, I want everything else to be done fast. I generally get very annoyed with wasted time. Now not everything can be perfect and due to a situation outside the control of Helms Brothers, there were issues with the process. The finance advisor was given wrong information from an outside source and I found myself in a situation where delivery would no longer have been possible in the time frame I had originally given Helms Bros as being mandatory to meet. A quick discussion with Suzanne quickly fixed everything. She got the car prepped for delivery despite being after hours, and even offered to compensate for the wasted time by offering a meal. At this point. it is clear to me that Suzanne has an amazing business management and leadership skill and is singlehandedly changing my perception of what a dealership really should be. In fact, I can’t go to another dealership due to their horrible service and I blame that entirely on Suzanne! Now this is a long review, too long for me to go back and read over. As such, I apologize if it is difficult to read and for any grammar mistakes. But I must stress that I could not be happier about the experience. Outstanding Service! Kelvin had called me a week later to follow up with me and that shows a person really cares about your business. I drove down from Albany the next day (where I work) and experienced the best experience from beginning to end. Kelvin set us up with a test drive and sure enough I was sold. At the actual time of delivery he took his time to explain and show me features of the vehicle. Buyer BEWARE!!!!!! Picked up a 2015 Mercedes Benz ML 350 on August 18, 2015. Asked Multiple times during my first 7 days I did not want the vehicle and wanted a different one but was not honored what is labeled on their Certified Pre-Owned section of Helms Bros website. From the beginning of my purchase I felt this place is way to shady for me. Management refuse to call their customers back when they promise they will. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM HELMS BROS AGAIN!!!!!! A big thumbs down to Suzanne Cochrane and Joh Kunz, they are the reason I will never return, Shame on you!!!!! More

"The best or nothing" holds true for Mercedes-Benz AND Helms Helms Bros. in Bayside has become a home away from home. Since my last review, I have purchased and leased three vehicles. A GLK 350 for my father, a E350 for myself were purchased and a GLK350 was just leased for my wife. So I believe that this brings my total number of vehicles rolled out of their doors at 5 or 6, so you can believe me when I say that I am a repeat customer! The vehicles are just that, vehicles... safe, dependable and above all, Mercedes-Benz! You know your family is safe on the road when all the distracted drivers out there are lurking, or when you are driving alone, tempting the speed limit on a clean stretch of freshly paved highway asphalt! Now, the dealership... the dealership is what counts when you make a purchase AND when you service your vehicle. I can whole heartedly say, without a doubt, that if it were not for the people that are there for me, I would not be taking the time to write this review. You hear it again and again; They treat you like family... blah, blah, blah... but I'm telling you.. they treat you like family!! From the minute you walk in, to the minute you drive off, to the minute you service your vehicle(s), to the minute you do it all over again! I have never, in my life, been treated so well. Simply Outstanding! This will be the fourth vehicle I purchase, and the first one from Mercedes Benz. I have had experiences dealing with sales representatives and manag This will be the fourth vehicle I purchase, and the first one from Mercedes Benz. I have had experiences dealing with sales representatives and managers from many different dealerships, but never have I seen such exceptional service! My sales representative Kelvin Nunez has been astonishingly accommodating and understanding. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the most impressionable and professional way. I was immediately taken to the vehicle I was interested in and given a full and detailed explanation on every little detail. Although it took him a while to locate a test vehicle, the test drive was memorable and comfortable. Unlike some other dealerships where sales representatives exaggerate the vehicle's advantages, Kelvin was always honest and never at one point did I feel as I was being pushed. He was truly concerned about me getting the vehicle I truly desired! Even during negotiations, he was kind, courteous, and never pushy. But most importantly, he was never dishonest about the transaction, always being truthful and honest making the entire transaction very transparent! John Kunz appraised my vehicle. Although I did not have much interactions with him, he was always kind and very perceptive. Although I could not come to agreement initially with John, he nevertheless has left a truly positive impression. Finally, Suzanne Cochrane was/is the general manager of Helms Bros. There is so much that can be said about her, but I believe I can summarize by stating that "Suzanne redefines the standard for a dealership!". Under her leadership, it was immediately apparent that she had raised the service quality at this dealership to levels unheard of before! She was very apologetic about the delayed test drive, and even took her time to personally greet me and thank me during the negotiations the next day! Overall I was very impressed with this dealership and I definitely look forward to dealing with them in the future again! UPDATE 03/02/2015 My experiences over the past few days really solidifies my opinion with regards to this dealership. I just cannot express how satisfied I am with their level of service. After the negotiations and during the process of picking up the vehicle, I ran into issues with registering the vehicle. As a result I was unable to purchase the vehicle I was interested in. I tried to rectify this issue, visiting the dealership multiple times over a span of three days. At this point, Suzanne Cochrane, the General Manager; recognized me invited me into the office of Jennifer Lang, the Sales Manager. There, they revealed that I wasn't just another statistics on their system. They were actively discussing my case and trying to work around the issue. Eventually, Jennifer Lang and Suzanne Cochrane called every person involved into the office and figured out a solution to the problem! I have never seen such amazing service from a dealership before! I would like to thank Suzanne for continuously looking into this issue. I would not have been able to obtain this level of service anywhere and I would definitely not be purchasing a Mercedes Benz vehicle if it weren't for you. You have saved me countless hours and made what would normally be a frustrating experience a really exciting one. Furthermore, I would like to thank Kelvin Nunez who not only had the dedication to providing excellent service, but also the patience to deal with my constant inquiries into the situation. More
