Still waiting for truck!! I was in the market for a new truck and after a previous bad experience with Mel Hambelton Ford (which was eventually resolved to my satisfaction) I d I was in the market for a new truck and after a previous bad experience with Mel Hambelton Ford (which was eventually resolved to my satisfaction) I decided to give them another shot when I saw a truck I was interested in on their website. I contacted our previous sales rep Obi (who is great by the way) and worked with him to go over the truck. I did notice a few issues with the truck that I was assured would be fixed if I agreed to buy it, as this truck was a fresh trade in and still needed to get completely inspected. I was working with another dealership on a bit newer truck in OKC but decided to go ahead with this one as it was closer and more convenient. I worked out the numbers (again Obi was great) and we agreed on a price. I explained to them that I couldn’t sign the papers until the following week because I was closing on a house and didn’t want anything new on my credit until then. Since I knew my credit score, and the bank I would probably use, they let me take the truck, and took my trade. Over the next several days I noticed the grinding issue in the rear that was to be fixed was getting worse and worse. I also noticed a few other issues wrong with the truck including a broken brake controller, the alignment was off and a blown fuse. (minor, I know but I am spending 30k on this truck, you expect it to be good to go) I brought the truck in on Wednesday and Obi had a loaner f150 for me to borrow. He said the issues would be resolved and my truck would be ready that afternoon or the following day. I came in the next day to sign the purchase papers and to my pleasant surprise my payment was lower than expected because I received a better interest rate from the bank. Papers signed, still no truck, still in the loaner. Asked about it at service and they said they were still working on it and they would call me the following day. (Friday) I was a bit upset at this as I just closed on my house and needed a truck to move with, (the f150 loaner doesn’t have a hitch receiver so I can’t use the trailer I reserved to move) but I was sure it would have it back by the weekend. I called on Friday afternoon and was told I would get a call back after they checked on it. No call by 6pm so I called in and was told the service department was closed. I talked to Obi on Monday and he said he would find out on Tuesday what was going on. In the afternoon he said that the truck was waiting on approval and he would let me know. On Tuesday (today) I call in to check the status and was told I would have to wait for a call back from the service advisor, well he did finally call back and said my truck was STILL waiting on approval. UGH. So here I am, still waiting on my truck that I was assured would be fixed. They have had my new truck more than I have so far. I am not done moving, and have to be out of my rental by next week. My truck would sure come in handy right about now. On a side note, I did receive a call from a “customer relations manager” who asked how my buying experience was. I explained to him the situation (which he knew nothing about) and with no empathy to my situation he ended the call with no solution or resolution. Also, I asked my sales rep Obi about getting another key for the truck as they only gave me one and he said that he would have to get that approved as that is all it came with. This is a 30k FORD truck from a FORD dealership. They can make another key for next to nothing. I think after this experience I am done with MHF. Obi is great and I would love to continue to work with him but there is WAY too much red tape and one hand not knowing that the other hand is doing. I will let you know how this finally works out when I get a resolution. More

I Walked in dealership and was met by salesman,Obi who I highly recommend, only to find 2 F150's waiting for me already to test drive! Ended up buying ecoboost version and love it. Everyone at the dealership went out of their way to greet and ask if I need help. 2 family members also purchased new vehicles from Mel Hambelton over the past few months and said the same things. Received follow up call after sale to see if everything was good. Will be back, could not beat the price. More

Great to work with during and after the sale I contacted Mel Hambelton Ford while searching online for a nicely equipped used F150. Even though I live in Colorado, Obi was able to answer all my questions, take me through a personal video walkthrough of the truck, and set up delivery service. There were a few outstanding items after delivery which Obi and others at the dealership took care of right away. Buying long distance without a test drive can be risky, but MHF offered a 30 day/1000 mile warranty which certainly helped my decision. Now after six weeks and about 2500 miles, I'm very satisfied with both the truck and the whole experience. More

Went the extra mile, but why did you have to? We found the used vehicle we wanted at a resonable price. The problem was, the vehicle changed from the condition it was in initially. All seemed to be fine. When we first visited the dealership, the three pannel bed cover was missing! It was in the online picture, but was missing when we went for our first test drive. No one seemeed to know what happened to it. The console covers were sprung and did not open as they should. The DVD headphones were missing. The dash board was cracked in two places and there was a gap in the seam on the dash. In spite of all of that, we liked the truck. On our second test drive a week later, I noticed a chip in the windshield that had not been there the first time we drove it. Our salesman, Obe, assured us that all of those problems would be fixed. Six weeks and two days later, were informed that all of the parts were in and we scheduled our service appointment. Used bed covers were found, a brand new console cover was installed, and the dash cracks were glued back together. Two days later, the DVD headphones were delivered to my home. While I really do appreciate the fact that all of the fixes were made (except for the windshield) AND at no cost, I am surprised they had to be done at all. Shouldn't the vehicle have all of the accessories in place before the vehicle is shown? We could have given all excellent ratings if everything, INCLUDING THE WINDSHIELD, had been taken care of before we bought the truck. You "Went the extra mile" but you should not have had to do that. More

We arrived at this dealership after an extremely bad experience at another dealership across town. We went to Mel Hambelton because Obi was specifically recommended by a family member. Obi was busy finishing up with another client but made sure we were attended to until he was available, he immediately asked us a few questions. He came in and just set our mind at ease. He was ready to show us every vehicle on the lot to make sure we got the vehicle we wanted. He was professional, fair, knowledgeable and had good sense of humor. Even when we selected the vehicle we liked, Obi took the time to educate us on every aspect of the vehicle bumper to bumper. We were extremely impressed at Obi's dedication and expertise. Obi definitely loves his job and it shows. We even enjoyed the paper process thanks to the upbeat Finance Manager Mark McCasland. The process was made very simple. He explained every piece of paper we signed and made sure we understood all those big words. I appreciated his diligence and sense of honor. I had all day and fully intended to use all of it........but I really didn't expect to get the terms I wanted. The car I sought for my wife was received and Mel Hambelton has gone out of their way to make sure I was beyond satisfied. 10 months later my wife still raves about her Escape and enjoys it more than anything else she has driven.
