Stay Away I went to Northstar Ford in Calgary Crowfoot to purchase a new truck. The entire process was painful with the dealership constantly changing the term I went to Northstar Ford in Calgary Crowfoot to purchase a new truck. The entire process was painful with the dealership constantly changing the terms or wanting more to conclude the deal. It was on this forum I learned not to give Northstar Ford a deposit for any reason as their policy is all deposits, down payments and partial payments are non-refundable. Its written in bold type at the bottom of the sales contract. Don't do it! In the contract the base price of the truck was higher than what was listed on the window sticker sheet. When asked about this discrepancy it took two of them to come up with a story that clearly was wrong....ever catch your child in a lie...this is what I was witnessing. They could not explain the pricing on the contract with certainty and with this I became more suspicious. In the end I walked away, concerned that no truck is worth the deception I am witnessing. I am mad at the "bait & switch" as another poster stated that goes on with this dealership to the point that I am unwilling to buy a Ford and have anything to do with Northstar Ford...sales, servicing or otherwise. I will buy somewhere else and thanks to my experience with Northstar Ford I will look at another brand and avoid Ford. More
Bait and Switch I had been looking for a new F-150 (2015), and saw that Northstar had what appeared to be a great deal. I made an appointment to test drive this truc I had been looking for a new F-150 (2015), and saw that Northstar had what appeared to be a great deal. I made an appointment to test drive this truck that Friday. When I got to the dealership, I was greeted and shown to the truck, which I then took for a short 10 minute test drive. I decided that I did indeed want to purchase the truck and sat down with the salesperson to do the paperwork. After about 5 minutes it was discovered that the very truck I had just driven had been sold at another dealership. The sales team then put on a great show of trying to find me another truck and after about 4 HOURS it appeared that they had succeeded in finding another truck, with slightly less features but for a similar price from their "pool" of vehicles. I filled out the purchase paperwork, left a $1000 deposit to hold the vehicle, and then went to the financing department to make arrangements for payment. When I left that day I was told that I would receive a call the next day to let me know when I could expect to take delivery of my truck. By noon, I hadn't heard anything, so I called my salesperson who told me that she would look into it and text me back in 15 minutes. I never received a text. I called again at 2:30 and left a message for the sales manager. At shortly after 4:00 I finally received a call from the sales manager who told me that the truck I had left a deposit on had also been sold. My response was "Yes it was...to me that's why I gave you a deposit". His response was that he would refund my deposit. He then proceeded to talk about how they would keep looking and would I be interested in a 2014? I hung up. Clearly this was just a "Black Friday" bait and switch tactic to get me in the dealership in the hopes to sell me a more expensive vehicle. Clearly this dealership has no scruples and no respect for people's time or feelings. DO NOT SHOP HERE! More
Service I used to quite happy with the sales and service even after it had transitioned from Crowfoot Ford to Northstar. The service has taken a huge dive sin I used to quite happy with the sales and service even after it had transitioned from Crowfoot Ford to Northstar. The service has taken a huge dive since then and the service manager tends to blame customers for issues that are definitely related to his department. After buying several vehicles here I am moving to another Ford dealer and advise others do the same. Maybe if they get rid of the service manager I might return my business. More
Over estimation of repair work I had my Ford escape diagnosed for transmission issues at this dealer. They billed me the diagnostic fee - fair enough, but then told me the repair bill for a new transmission was going to be $6675.95. I was shocked and so was my wife. The customer service woman who phone me and my wife was named Fiona and was one of the rudest off-handed people we had ever dealt with. We verified the $ amount individually as we thought this was too high. Fiona confirmed the $ amount. I then phoned around two transmission shops and one other Ford dealer who quoted me between $2300 and $2400 less than Northstar ford. So we had the vehicle towed at our expense to another dealer. Fiona then phoned the following day and spoke to my wife. Fiona asked my wife is we were going to buy a second hand or new vehicle. She said neither and said that we had the vehicle towed to another dealer for the repair work, Fiona then shouted 'you have taken the vehicle, but you have not paid for it". My wife told her to check her records and we had paid for it and that we were getting the work done at another dealership. My wife then put the phone down. Northstar Ford used to be Crowfoot ford where the staff were always friendly and helpful. This lot are rude and are nothing more than criminals. I have sent this same letter to Ford directly and the CAA as they are listed as a CAA service centre. More
you know buying the vehicle no problem having accessorys was ok so I bought a 2015 F350 to replace the 2001 F250 cause I'm towing a 13700 lbs trailer and tow a boat behind that weights 3500 lbs all went well ti ok so I bought a 2015 F350 to replace the 2001 F250 cause I'm towing a 13700 lbs trailer and tow a boat behind that weights 3500 lbs all went well till they put the 5th wheel hitch in. A 16000 lbs hitch was put in that's it. now I have to tear it out and put a 20000 lbs at my expense and they wont reimburse me anything because I didn't specify what I needed wouldn't you think I'm buying a F350 one should put something in so you can tow what the actual rating of the truck is . well nobody had the brains to contact me on what I needed but as long as they sold a truck that's all that matters I guess More

We had it taped up with duct tape to hold the window in place because the hinge let go two days before the appointment. After the repair was completed they called my wife and asked if she wanted them to clean off the tape and they would do if for anther 1/2 hour labour. She agreed. When she went to pick up the vehicle she paid and then went out and looked at the repair. The windows was badly, and I mean badly scratched to the point where there were deep gouges in the glass. She went back and talked to the service agent and he told her those were done with the plastic ice scrapper. She said that her husband (me) would be in contact with them because she did not see that as being possible. When she brought the vehicle home I freaked out when I saw it and immediately drove the vehicle back and spoke with the assistant service manager. He took some pictures. I told him that it was impossible for that to be done by an ice scrapper as they are plastic and made to be softer than glass (duh). I also told him that there must have been some thing on their workbench that may have scratched it during the repair process. He said that was not possible because they don't have a workbench!? Ok did they work on it on the ground and the cement floor scratched it? He said it was possible that detailing may have done it when they removed the tape. I left and he said he would call me one he had more information. We did not get a call back the next day so I called the assistant manager and left a message asking that the bring the vehicle back in an d replace the window. No call back. My wife then called the Manager of service and he said he would look into the issue. No call back. It has been a week now and this Ford Dealer is horrible. We are going to file a complaint to the better business bureau as these guys don't get it. I will never use this dealership again. More

I was the victim of a horrific hit and run on the Sunday night. I knew my car was written off so I spoke to Chris Sando and decided on a 2011 Explorer with 30 000 km on it. Told him I was SOLD turns out it was sold sometime between that Tuesday and Friday. He called me on Monday, September 30th to tell me it was gone. When I asked how it was sold when I said I would take it, (I was waiting for the write off $) I was told I never put a deposit down. I was NEVER asked for one and I was in constant contact with him DAILY, including the Friday after the Explorer was sold. He didn't take kindly to me pointing out his neglect and he said "I'm in the business of selling cars not holding them." That's when I hung up the phone. More
