We have dealt with Shawn L. before and always find him enthusiastic, informative and friendly. We would always ask for him to be our sales rep. in the future. The only slight glitch in our experience was this; and it is not, I'm sure, related solely to Shawn. All sales reps. should ask the customer, if the deal involves trading in a vehicle which has been serviced at ToyotaTown, if they have an appointment scheduled for an annual change over to winter tires (or vice versa) which are being stored by the dealership. We had such an appointment, scheduled months ago as we have every year, and I assumed that the appointment could then apply to the new vehicle we were purchasing. That is not the case. When I checked, after our recent purchase, Service said they had no appointment scheduled for us. It seems that when a vehicle is traded in all appointments scheduled for it are cancelled and there is no provision for the customer to be asked if they would like the same service to be done on their new vehicle. The Service Dept. were able to give me an appointment later in the month for the tire changeover, although it will be after the first snow event of the year which is coming today as I write this. Also, there is another aspect to this situation. In this case, I am buying new winter tires and rims for the new vehicle, from ToyotaTown, as the old ones wouldn't fit. Does it make sense for the dealership to have a customer wait weeks to have new tires installed just so they can be fitted in to the annual lineup of winter tire swappers? More
