My wife worked for a Porsche dealership for 17 years. Me, I'm a retired United Airlines Captain, so if anyone knows how dealerships works-it's me. I spent a lot of my off time at the dealership, knew everyone! With that said, I'm a tough customer because I've seen it all. From outrageous profits to sales of useless(and expensive) after market accessories. With that said, BMW of Sarasota happen to have a 2016 MB that caught my eye. I inquired and Bobby replied. Came to find outhie was the #1 salesman. I make an appointment and drive 200+ milles to view the car. One recommendation, never begin to negotiate a deal unless you fully inted to leave with the car if the deal is right. NOTHING will xxxx off a dealer quicker that that. So off I go. I meet Bobby, he hand me toe key (aafter the usual copy of my DL and Ins card, and says-go enjoy. I'll see you wne you get back. Take as long as you like. I was rather surprised, that's fairly unusual. Most demo rides have the salesman watching you a hawk, god forbid you accelerate too fast for their liking. I took so many Porsche's out, for hours to blast around and undisclosed speeds!! Upon my return, I was ready to talk turkey on the MB and my trade! Ager less than 10 minutes we had a deal to my liking! Can't complain. We were both fair. Now came the dreaded finance manager (after market salesman). What a delightful experience. No pressure, just told me my choices and left it at that! That was TJ. Deal complete, they brought my car around with all my stuff in it, my plates all registered, clean and said enjoy! My take away? Porsche, take a lesson how to do a used car sale right. 6 Stars! More
