The sales person we went to was Chitra Selvanathan. This is the second time we went to her thinking she is Tamil, even though we had some issues first time we bought a car from her. However, this second experience was eye-opening, and we learned that she is there to cheat her own community people with her acting skills. We went to buy a brand new car, and she only had one in stock. She tried to sell it for a higher price with higher interest and additional add-ons without our knowledge. As a salesperson, she should have shown us the breakdown of the payments with interest and the additional costs of the things she was adding. However, she calculated it without interest so that the car’s price would look less for us. She also added things like rust-free. She said we had to take the service plan or we wouldn’t get the car. We found the payments and her additional stuff after we signed the papers for financial approval. We asked her to remove the extra costs, but she refused. She knew it was hard to get a car right away during COVID, so she kept telling us to take the car or just drive a rental vehicle. We had no choice, so we left it as it was and ready to take the car. The next day, we called her to discuss the process, and she said she would call us later. She didn’t call, so we called her the following day, and she was talking to us about getting another car. We asked about the car we signed for and made a deposit, but she said she had already sold it and would find another car for us. She was working on selling this car to someone while keeping us hanging with her so that if that process didn’t work, she could sell the car to us. We requested her to refund our deposit, but she started mind-washing us again, saying she would get a car for a better price. We decided not to buy a car from her, so we told her to make the refund. However, she kept dragging us for more than a month. First, she asked for our credit card number, and then another day, she demanded the paperwork, which she didn’t provide. We explained that we only took a photo of the signed paper, and she insisted we bring it. Seriously, it was a photo taken from our phone, and she needed it to refund us! She hung up on us. Then, she called and asked for the receipt of the payment. Finally, she asked us to come in person. I read another review about this sale person, and it turned out she made that person come to her office multiple times without giving the refund. We told her it has been over a month, and she still didn’t refund us even though she had sold the car to someone else. She said we can’t speak to her about the RULES and it wouldn’t work with her. This gave me an idea to follow the rules, so I contacted the OMVIC and made a complaint. They advised me to contact the general manager of this location. I contacted him and got my money back on the same day. Interestingly, she didn’t ask for the paperwork, the receipt, or even come to our location. She simply refunded the money on the same day. I also wanted to add one more thing. Since we were already financing through Toyota Corolla, we received an email offer from Toyota for a rate reduction. We could get about 1% rate reductions. When we asked this lady about it, she acted as if she didn’t know anything about it and asked us to speak with the financial lady. When we asked the financial lady, she also acted as if she didn’t know anything about the reduction. Then we discovered that Chitra had already told her about this to the financial lady, so they both acted together as if they didn’t know anything about it. They work for Toyota, and they don’t know about this reduction offer, which is very surprising. They just want to sell the car to us at a high interest rate by hiding this offer. Chitra is cheating her own community and not grateful to them. More
