"BUYER BE WARE" when purchasing a vehicle at Red Deer Toyota!!! I had a signed contract, with a $1000.00 down payment, to order a 2013 Toyota Sienna. The contract was agreed upon "all in". Wh Red Deer Toyota!!! I had a signed contract, with a $1000.00 down payment, to order a 2013 Toyota Sienna. The contract was agreed upon "all in". When I checked my contract, signed by sales manager Neil McLeod, against the purchasing contract there was an extra $623.01 added to the purchase contract. When I contacted Bart Lefly, my purchase advisor, he told me that this was the new price of a 2013 Sienna, yet they, Neil McLeod and Bart Lefly had led me to believe the price of the "SIGNED SALES CONTRACT" was the price I would pay. No mention what-so-ever of any price change. "APPARENTLY" Red Deer Toyota can do as they please, whenever they want, as a VERY DISCOURTEOUS JOHN SHOULDERS, SALES MANAGER, informed me and I had no right to question this what-so-ever. GOOD BYE RED DEER TOYOTA!!! More

I needed a truck because I have to haul my dirt bike and I don't feel comfortable towing a trailer. Every dealer I went to treated me like I didn't know anything and always pushed me towards cars and were very pressuring because I am a woman, they felt they could take advantage of me. When I came to Red Deer Toyota it had been a very long day, and I was pleasantly greeted by Tracey as soon as I walked into the door. She asked me what I was looking for and when I told her a Tacoma, she rushed and got me keys to exactly what I wanted. She went thought all the benefits and features of the truck, that was followed by a test drive. There was no pressure, and I felt very comfortable. When it came to the numbers part of things she was more then happy to ask her manager Neil for a discount for me, so I feel I got an amazing truck for an even more amazing price. We got everything on paper and I went in to see Corey who was very friendly and professional. When it came time to pick up the truck it was ready early so Tracey called me and set up a shuttle to come pick me up and take me to registries. I was so excited I could not contain myself. Everyone I dealt with made this an amazing experience. I absolutely love my TRD Tacoma, it's what I've always wanted. Thanks again Red Deer Toyota, you made a dream come true for me! =D More
I went into toyota looking to buy a hatchback. I initally had my eye on a Yaris. I entered the dealership and was welcomed very warmly by the recpetionist and was then intorduced to Phyllis. We spoke briefl had my eye on a Yaris. I entered the dealership and was welcomed very warmly by the recpetionist and was then intorduced to Phyllis. We spoke briefly about the yaris and she suggested we take a look at the used Matrix's they had in stock that would be around the same price and I would be getting a bigger car with some upgraded features. She showed me the models they had and explained in great detail all the features. I selected the color and model I liked and took it for a test drive, well that was it I was sold. She brought me into her office and we went over a few more details about the car and the car proof on it as well. My next step was my application for financing. I was unfortunately not approved on my own so I had to find a co signer. This process was made very easy for me and I had an answer within a couple days. I was thrilled! I scheduled my pick up and the day I arrived to the dealership my car looked great. We went over everyting again made sure I was happy and off I went. This was my first car buying experience but i had visited some other dealers. This was made very pleasant from start to finish. I would highly recommend this dealership to everyone i know. More

Same thing happened to me. Tracey told me that the deposit was refundable. But Nei McLeod refused to refund the deposit when the deal went down. NO!!! Find a car anywhere else!! Our truck must be a Monday build and this dealership is staffed by Fridays (as in it's Friday and I am out of here!) truck is less than three years old, needed a new tra Monday build and this dealership is staffed by Fridays (as in it's Friday and I am out of here!) truck is less than three years old, needed a new transmission took 3 weeks! Then oops they didn't replace the electronic gear shift control so the tranny light comes on & truck doesn't shift smoothly, another mechanic (unaffiliated) did diagnostic & told ought to be covered by warranty, back to Toyota we go ...took 3 more days for a 1 hr piece of work & $700 bill not covered by warranty PLUS they insisted on re-diagnosing & charging for same. Truck spends more time in their shop than on the road and everytime its in they seem to find ways that warranty doesn't cover that. Never have a courtesy vehicle, think they can just tell customers that nope its not ready, maybe tomorrow. Honestly drive to Edmonton! or maybe Saskatachewan or buy a Honda (I hear great things about their service) More
This dealership is too happy to take advantage of an environment where they have no competition. ( no other Toyota dealers ). They are sleezy and cruel. My wife and I did tons of research to find which environment where they have no competition. ( no other Toyota dealers ). They are sleezy and cruel. My wife and I did tons of research to find which vehicle would be most reliable while meeting the needs of our family. After we decided on a Toyota we went into the local dealership to purchase it. We did all price research beforehand so this should have been an easy sale. We gave Red Deer Toyota a $500.00 deposit, which they explained was refundable, and ordered our new car. We were told to expect a call confirming the deal as well as vehicle arival time within 24 hours. THREE DAYS LATER the dealership called us to confirm that the deal would go through, ( funny it took so long as we were paying cash ) however they could not tell us when the car would come in and we should wait for them to phone us within next 24 hours. FOUR DAYS LATER we decided to call them to see when the car would be in and they told us it would take 3 to 5 weeks give or take a week or two. Obviously this was unacceptable. In response we decided to search dealerships in Calgary and Edmonton to see if we could find a car to do a dealer transfer, or buy from other dealership if transfer not possible. Found one in less then ten minutes. I then called Red Deer Toyota to discuss our options of either doing a dealer transfer or getting our deposit back. At the mention of requesting a refund the service manager Neil Mcleod told me that there was no way I could get my deposit back. He then proceeded to tell me that since I live in Red Deer I would want to do my services there, and if I choose to buy my car elsewere and go to Red Deer Toyota for my service work I would receive bad service. Strong arm sales are unethical and do not work with us. This ended any possibility of me buying through them, and I told him so. Despite informing Neil that the deal was now over he continued to argue loudly that I should buy with them, and was even able to, all of a sudden, gaurentee me my car within two days instead of the 3 to 5 weeks they had told me. This also seemed crooked to me. If they could produce the vehicle so quickly why was it OK for them to have us wait over a month before. I guess customers don't matter to them much untill the sale is threatened. Anyway we told them no and went to Calgary and bought the car we found the same day. In Calgary we also found out that Red Deer Toyota had added hidden costs in their purchase price. We have since had numerous dealings with management at Red Deer Toyota to try and get our deposit back. This always ends with them rudly telling us no. Finally we demanded they at least provide copies of the paperwork they had us sign when they took our deposit. No suprise, they won't give us this either. In the end we contacted Visa who have kindly refunded us the $500.00. When you buy a vehicle it turns out you need to research the dealerships as much as you do the vehicle!! Stay away from Red Deer Toyota!! More
This dealership should adopt a more sustainable business strategy, namely, working for the customers, more than against them. The general attitude towards customers is a bit cynical, as if all customers ar strategy, namely, working for the customers, more than against them. The general attitude towards customers is a bit cynical, as if all customers are prone to be trouble. The salesman was less than positive in most ways, talking about his own career a bit too much. The thing that sealed my discontent was the way they tried to lever a lot of unnecessary options on me once I had made a deal on the car and was ready to sign. Trying to take advantage of customers is not the way a successful business is built. More
