Sales guy basically closed the door in my face! The sales guy at the Ford place was pushing hard for us to buy a used Fusion insinuating that the Elantra was an inferior product so we walked across the lot to the Hyundai Dealer to see if we could test drive a 2014. We arrived @ 3:10 on a Saturday afternoon and the "salesman" advised us through the half open door that they were closed. When I pointed to the sign that clearly indicated they were open until 5:00 he said "we're closing up early 'cause it's the long weekend ". I advised him that we had just driven the 2013 and pointed to it sitting on the other side of his lot and that we wanted to test drive a new one he responded with "we're open Monday". When I informed him that we both work Monday he said "we're open 'til 8:00". Not being one to surrender easily I stated "So you don't want to sell me a car today?" to whichever responded "come back next week" We ended up buying the 2013 from the Ford Dealer a week or so later. Steer clear of these guys, don't be fooled by the "New Owner I have purchased 2 used cars in the past from Alpine Hyundai (same location). I thought the new ownership would have improved things but it's not the case. The sales team is way off on calculations and they low ball your trade-in, I was even told "once we get your car we will call the scrap yard and they will tow it away to be crushed".... VERY rude! Yes I'm looking for a new car, but I still have an attachment to my current car. I am now going to go to another city and buy a Hyundai, I love the cars but I refuse to buy from poor customer service companies. I was looking to buy 2 brand new cars and my "repeat customer" discount was only $139. That's a slap in the face along with the low ball trade ins on our two cars. More
Integrity means everything and when that is compromised, so does any further trust in a company. Customer satisfaction should be their first priority. I didn't see that. Honoring what is verbally promised r so does any further trust in a company. Customer satisfaction should be their first priority. I didn't see that. Honoring what is verbally promised rather than have something show up on the bill that was given as free and then reneged on while trying to placate the customer with an excuse that had nothing to do with their promise isn't impressive. Pressure sale techniques are not impressive. Not doing everything to find the customer the car they request (ie the colour requested) isn't impressive. I would have been satisfied with the sales person saying " the company wants to rid themselves of the current inventory and we don't have that color, would you be OK with x colour vs we don't have that colour and it will cost more to bring one in" is disturbing. (I was fine with any colour or would have walked). Lowballing is also not an attractive quality when bringing in a trade.Yes, you do want to pay as little as possible and make as much as possible. Remember, the customer also has access to the Canadian black book. Why did I purchase? Convenience, satisfaction of the vehicle being purchased, and trust in the friend referral of the company overall. Time will tell the rest of the story but I won't purchase my next vehicle there. It is amazing how a sales experience can make all the difference in making purchases. A person could be buying the best product on the market and choose not to based on the sales tactics. More
