Yet Another Hyundai It all started back in the 80's with our Hyundai Stellar. We have been fans for years and although we have bought other cars in between we always see It all started back in the 80's with our Hyundai Stellar. We have been fans for years and although we have bought other cars in between we always seem to come back to Hyundai. We have bought an Accent, an Excel, a Tiburon the year they came out (very cool), and of course the Sonata. The Sonata was the first car we have ever driven off the lot and minutes later had a stranger pull up beside us, ask what it was and compliment its streamline body. We have had our Sonata for five years, the longest we have ever owned a car and we came back and bought an another! Our experience at Bank Street Hyundai was exceptional. They always, always treat us with respect and consideration when we visit for servicing and this time we came in to trade up and we felt so comfortable right away. Naser Sharif was a personable young man that knew his vehicles and was able to assist us in our choice. He worked hard to meet our needs and expectations. Ernesto Lorello made the purchasing process smooth and efficient giving us several avenues always giving us the best options clearly laid out. You know when you walk out of a dealership without a qualm, look forward to seeing them again and look at your watch and can not believe where the time went! Well done. We tell everyone about this dealership and about Hyundai. Thanks for holding up your end guys! More

We had recently been to another Hyundai dealership in the city and felt pressured by the salesman to buy that day. They were also offering us a base model at a much higher price than what we received from Bank Street. Sam was not pushy with us and gave us time to talk things over. We really appreciated this. Ernesto was great at helping us with the financial aspects. He's very friendly and informative. This is our second time working with Ernesto on a car purchase. Both times have been pleasant. One negative criticism: the marketing at Bank Street is too much. The day after we purchased our vehicle, I received a phone call asking if we wanted to come in to take advantage of your current deal. I asked to be removed from the list since we just bought a car. I also received an email and text message within the time we bought the car and picked it up (just a few days) It's just too much. We receive at least 1 call from Bank Street every month. It is usually paired with emails and mail as well. More

Upon entering we were introduced to a salesman named Toufic Habib. From start to finish he listened to what was most important to us and answered all of our questions. He helped us find the S.U.V. that met all of our requirements and in the end we are happy customers! Toufic and Ernesto, the Finance Manager, went above and beyond to make sure our car buying experience was as painless as possible and that we left satisfied with our purchase. Ridiculed!!! Worst buying experience, Tricky and dis-honest Monday, March 16th, 2015 I was in market to purchase a car to surprise my wife. My condition was to have the car ready for Wednesday morning so I c Monday, March 16th, 2015 I was in market to purchase a car to surprise my wife. My condition was to have the car ready for Wednesday morning so I could take it to the airport. My condition was accepted everywhere I contacted and the only other factor was the price. Here is the story: My research for purchasing a new vehicle came down to decision between a Hyundai Tucson or Mitsubishi RVR. So I started looking for dealerships close to my workplace; and there it was a Hyundai dealer and a Mitsu dealer both on bank street within a km distance. I had heard the Dilawri ads on radio that "we speak your language..." and ofcourse one of them was farsi. So I started lookin on both sites to find farsi speaking reps to go to. @ bankstreethyundai.com website I sent a call back request to Bijan Sanei and at the same time added him on Linkedin with my request to contact to purchase a new car. He accepted my Linkedin request without responding my message. and I still have not received any call backs from the dealership website! It was around 4:30 pm that I got to dealership. There were 4 sales reps standing at the entrance. Louis, came to me asking if I had an appointment with anyone and well I responded no and I was looking for Bijan. He said Bijan will not be in until 5:30 and he could help me if I was not registered in their system as Bijan's client. I told him that It was my first time in that dealership and only asked for Bijan cause he could speak farsi (so could their General Manager, Amir). Louis let his manager (GM, Amir) know that I was there, told me that they were not on commission and didn't matter if he had helped me or Bijan; and took me to his desk to be seated and process started. We went for a quick test drive with Tucson GL and went back to his desk to negotiate the price. Every 5 minutes he repeated that Amir (farsi speaking GM) will come visit shortly. After I talked about my budget and how much I think the vehicle is worth to me he started going back and forth to his manager (General Manager, Amir) to get pricing and play the middle man. Saying Amir is very busy but he insisted that Amir will be visiting in 5 minutes. And explained to me that how Hyundai suddenly reduced their interest rate from 2.99 to 0 just last week. (like I don't watch TV or surf internet!!!) It was around 6 pm. Louis brought Shahir who could also speak farsi and was more proficient in sales process. I sat down with him and finally he also went back and forth to Amir's office to get pricing. Finally we did not reach an agreement and I let him know that I wanted to leave in case he could not get better pricing. His response was that Amir is busy and himself would call me after he could work the deal with Amir. I left the dealership around 7 and went to Pathway Hyundai where I had bought my first Hyundai. I tried the same price point which got rejected as well. So I was assured that I could not possibly get a better price. I went back to bankstreet Hyundai and Shahir asked me to wait 5 minutes. It took about 40 minutes and he was finally free to see me. (It was ok cause I still was happy and hopeful to sign a deal) During that 40 minutes I had enough time to crunch some numbers an decided to even upgrade to a GLS. Shahir came back with a price point for GL and well, that was the final price he said he could give me. I asked him to price the GLS as well and he nicely went to Amir (GM) again. After going back and forth again a few times he came back with a number. I asked him if he could do any better and he was firm that it was the ultimate and lowest possible price. I ran calculations in front of him on a piece of paper to show him how I could fit it in my budget. We agreed on the price and he checked the inventory again to make sure the vehicle (GLS model) would be in stock for Wednesday delivery and YES it was. He was happy that this was the second GLS he had sold today. He went to Amir and 5 minutes later he came back to me saying that himself had made a mistake and the price of the vehicle was 2000 more than we had agreed and calculated! There was a long pause and I told him how I felt about the cards they were playing. He mentioned that he had made a mistake and even if could sell the car the commission would be for Louis! (remember that Louis said they are not on commission) I shook hands with Shahir, Thanked him for his time and left the dealership. I will not pickup my wife from the airport with a new car. It was 9:01 pm. Here are the points: first stage- I was not buying a sandwich but the first 2 hours I was treated like I'm financing a burger and I know nothing about auto market and interest rates. second stage - Coming from a developing country I have experienced many different dirty tricks in sales that are actually obsolete. The price mistake is one of them. Shahir has cards titled Sales Consultant with dates on them. some from 2008. With more than 7 years of experience and even selling the same model earlier today, how possibly he could not have known the correct price. thrid stage - Shahir's second mistake was that he offered me the GL again after he apologized for the mistaken price. all stages - Ottawa is said to have roughly less than 8,000 farsi speaking people. Not many of them are in automotive business. Amir was the man behind all pricing. He was very busy and I understand. But he knew that I was visiting specifically to get info from a farsi speaking person to become more confident in the purchase. A simple greeting would have been enough and not the promise of him visiting. After all Dilawri is advertising this on radio! Overall, I learnt not to leave the purchase of a gift for last minute, cause human factor may and will change the whole decision process. More
