I contacted the dealership in regards to a 2022 GMC Sierra SLT with 8696 miles as indicated by Carfax for predelivery service by the dealership on Dec. 21, 2023. I explained I did not want to drive app Sierra SLT with 8696 miles as indicated by Carfax for predelivery service by the dealership on Dec. 21, 2023. I explained I did not want to drive appx. 1hr if the vehicle was not available at the price advertised. I was told it was available and at the advertised price. My wife and I drove to the dealership and found the vehicle had over 12,000 miles, was extremely dirty, and was in need of several repairs. I asked the sales mgr. Muhammad about the discrepancy and he said it must have been an error. I told him someone at the dealership had been driving it or the service dept. had falsified the mileage when servicing the vehicle in Dec. Muhammed assured me no one at the dealership was driving or had been driving the vehicle. Bottom line, the differences in the condition of the vehicle and the explanations offered for the discrepancies, led us to believe we could not trust the personnel and the vehicle, so we left to drive the additional hour back home. What a waste of time. More

This dealership doesn’t deserve any stars. Rude, slow in service and will not communicate. Within a hundred miles of driving our vehicle it began to smoke heavily out of the tail pipes. The short of it is, service and will not communicate. Within a hundred miles of driving our vehicle it began to smoke heavily out of the tail pipes. The short of it is, it needed a new motor. They told us the vehicle still had over eighty thousand miles on the manufactures warranty, only to learn, after three months of trying to get them to fix what they guaranteed, the manufacturers warranty had been canceled due to abuse by the person who had leased this vehicle. Once we finally got the vehicle back, we had it about six weeks before it broke down again. Southern said it was something to do with the battery or the alternator and they literally couldn’t figure it out and would have to send it to a Nissan dealer. We are still presently waiting for information on our vehicle. You can not pay someone to return a call. We have left countless messages and gone over in person to try and get this resolved, at least a dozen times. Not an exaggeration. This is by far the worst consumer experience we have ever had. We would love to have taken the vehicle somewhere else, but can not because of the manufacturer pulling the warranty. Things happen, things break and people make mistakes. But it should be the dealerships desire to make right the mistake they made. We have dealt with so many people trying to resolve this to no avail. The general manager, Brett Lloyd, has been rude, as though he was tired of talking to us, and the lead mechanic,MikeSwackhamer, has been just as useless. We are unfortunately tied to this dealership as long as we have the car, and we certainly can’t sell it, as it does not run. We are hoping at this point the Better Business Bureau can help. We are very upset by this situation, of course, but that’s not the only reason to write this review. We wish we would have researched this dealership before doing business with them. Southern has been in this area for years, and we just didn’t think about it. That was our mistake. Our hope is that this will warn others. Also, this car had a clean carfax. Unfortunately, the carfax does not list mechanical problems or the number of times the vehicle has been in the shop for anything other than routine maintenance. This is information that only the manufacturer has. We bought this vehicle almost six months ago, we’ve had it for less than two in our actual possession. Buyer definitely beware. I would like to add, that a woman named Pat in the service department, was at least as helpful as she could be. She only worked the desk and didn’t actually have the authority to resolve anything, but she was polite, she listened, and was the only person to call us back when she said she would. My suggestion is to make her the general manager. More

After coming to a reasonable deal and deciding to purchase the vehicle we had to turn in our rental car across the street. Muhammad offered to let us leave our luggage in his office after he helped us carry it in. Which by the way we drove 5 hours to get to this dealership for this specific car. Once our car was detailed and ready to go he helped load everything into our new car. More

Southern Greenbrier KIA has asked that I send a review about our experience at Southern Greenbrier KIA, after the way my daughter and I was treated. So here goes. My daughter and I had been driving the entire Greater Tidewater area ( Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Newport News, Williamsburg etc.) for two weeks looking to purchase her a newer vehicle. We had driven almost ever type of vehicle with the exception of KIA's, as we had never gave any thought as to looking at or test driving a one. Thursday afternoon as we were on our way to attend several other Greenbriar dealership appointments, we passed Southern Greenbrier KIA. We decided to turn around and see what KIA was all about, and there we met sales person Mr. C.J. Burns. After spend some time with him and Team KIA Greenbrier we looked at and test drove several vehicles. After driving these vehicles Mr. Burns assisted in providing my daughter with several quotes. However even though we did not purchase a vehicle she was highly interested in several KIA Optima's. The patience Mr. Burns and the entire Southern Greenbrier KIA Team showed us was phenomenal. We left and continued our endeavors to attend our other appointments. When we had the opportunity, My daughter and I talked about how Mr. Burns and the entire KIA Team treated us and how they worked with us on the pricing of these new vehicles. Upon returned home that night I continue my homework as to the ratings of new cars. After reading JD Powers and Consumers Report reviews on KIA's I was completely astonished as to the high ranking and superior ratings that both JD Powers and Consumers Report had given KIA. JD Powers rated and awarded KIA as the number one vehicles for the past two years. The next morning I decided to go to several independent Auto Body/Repair shops around the tidewater area and inquired as to their thoughts about the quality and safety of the new KIA's. All shops state that because of the brilliant engineering, redesigning, and materials now used in the building of KIA's, that they are unbelievable Safety, of excellent quality, highly dependable and that they are exceptionally comparable to considerable much higher priced vehicles. All shops gave outstanding remarks as to why I should look into purchasing a KIA. They also informed me that KIA makes all of their vehicle body repair parts and that aftermarket body parts are non-available. This means that when a KIA is in need of repair parts after an accident, that the new KIA body parts fit precisely without having to make modifications, which also is a big safety factor when making vehicle repairs. And now for the rest of the story. Southern Greenbrier KIA and the other Team KIA members are of the highest class. The entire KIA Greenbrier Team is untouchable in the way they treat their customers. It was because of Mr. Newman, Mr. Burns, Ms. Kakley, Mr. Johnson and the rest of Team KIA exceptional demeanor, their superior professionalism as well as their highest quality of excellent that made our final decision to return back to KIA Greenbrier the following Monday afternoon, where my daughter decided to purchase her new KIA Optima SXL Turbo. However before she signed the final agreement, it was because of the way we had been treated by Team KIA I decided that I wanted to purchase a new KIA Optima SXL Turbo for my wife as well. The entire Team KIA could not have performed any better, as they went above and beyond in performing their duties. It is not every day that one has the pleasure and opportunity to meet person of Mr. C.J. Burns stature and excellence. If I had to put into words Southern Greenbrier KIA performance ratings, the phrasing would include that they are, Superlative, Outstanding, Magnificent, Brilliant, Exceptional, Untouchable, Supreme and First-class in every rating category, and that is the reason why my daughter and I both purchased the two new KIA's Optima SXL Turbos from Southern Greenbrier KIA at the same time. We will continue to pass your contact information on to all as we hold you and Southern Greenbrier KIA in our highest respects.
