Katie, please reconsider the rating you are giving for the dealership. We are very sorry you view the situation as a negative experience and hope greatly to remedy our relationship with you and your future referrals to Sean. It was well within the typical guidelines of a customer inquiring to loan money in order to purchase a vehicle. In fact, it was a far lower amount of inquiries than are typically made when asking to borrow a large sum of money from several lenders. We worked very hard to get you an aggressive rate and deal. As was mentioned by 3 automotive sales professionals with a combined 40+ years of experience in the automotive sales field, we only pulled your credit one time at OUR dealership. It was then submitted to 3 lenders, who also pull your credit in their internal systems, as we do not share ours with them - it would be a conflict of interest. Most customers have their credit pulled on TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax. We specifically only pulled your credit on TransUnion’s bureau only, so the inquiry would only hit one of your 3 bureaus. When submitted to the lenders, we MUST LEGALLY SHOP for the lowest APR option for you to benefit you and operate under the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s guidelines. We submitted your loan application to 3 lenders and signed you up with the lowest APR option available to you. I recommend you purchase your vehicle with Cash Funds or a private loan next time to prevent any inquiries from hitting your credit bureau. Keep in mind, when signing the credit application that you give us the right to pull your credit and you gave us verbal, along with written, permission to submit your application to a bank - and we operated within your very strict requests while trying to maintain our legal responsibilities. Please research the subject further in depth, we hope to help you understand how it works. Feel free to call Sean or Caleb at any time to further discuss the details and clarify this misunderstanding.

You are absolutely unbelievable. I should have never been told 2 hard inquiries when you knew you wouldn’t. You send to multiple banks knowing you will only choose your own company. Please tell me you stand behind your employees stating how I am a “young attractive white single female that makes decent money” and quoting Donald Trump (or bringing anything political into the conversation). Or just continue to try and make yourself seem right, does that make you feel better? Do you feel superior to me because I had absolutely no power in the situation? Be ashamed of yourself and be very ashamed of Caleb. Disgusting.

Landers Toyota NWA responded

Thank you for bringing this issue up and taking your time to leave a response. It will help us improve going forward. If someone said only 2 hard inquiries are made during an automotive loan, that is definitely something we will go over with all of our employees to be sure they understand the inner workings of attaining an auto loan, so this problem hopefully does not occur again. We are very sorry for the problem and hope to resolve it. We chose the lender that gave you the most advantageous APR for you, as previously mentioned. The mention of Donald Trump was apparently not intended as a political discussion or statement, simply a mention that he was attempting to restructure the CFPB as an institution. We do not desire in any way whatsoever to feel superior to our customers or place them in a position in which they feel powerless. Our customers are the most important aspect of our business. It seems we were attempting to inform you of the inner workings on how the auto loan process works, and obviously there was a misunderstanding between parties. Again, we are extremely sorry for the issue and hope only to empower our customers with knowledge, helping them attain a good deal, along with excellent financing sources. Please call me directly if you would like to discuss further and hopefully work together to find a solution to the problem, repairing our relationship - (501) 215-3833.

I do not feel as if you would like to rectify the situation, only to continue being selective and finding any part of what I say to hopefully make yourself feel you are in the right. You skipped over the disgusting gender situation that was beyond unprofessional and the fact my loan still charged me and is even still active today! I have been trying to reach the bank all day to disconnect my account, apparently someone has not done a very speedy job. I am also aware my car sold due to the fact the new owner obtained my name and phone number and promptly started texting me asking for spare keys and such right after their purchase. This was my 4th vehicle to purchase in 11 years and by far the most disgusting sleezy experience. THIS is why so so many females feel they cannot walk onto a car lot and feel they are treated fairly. Caleb is awful. This system is awful. I am furious.

Landers Toyota NWA responded

We would love the chance to redeem your trust - maybe if you have some spare time, you could come shadow a finance manager, sales person, and our finance assistants one day to help understand? I believe it would be a positive experience. There wasn’t a gender situation as you describe. An explanation was given to you on what it means to discriminate and create biases of customers when submitting their information to potential lenders from Michael Graves and Caleb. It is illegal to do the aforementioned, and that is what was explained. This was not an explanation of your specific story only, but an explanation of what the CFPB views and has created through many studies on discriminatory lending practices at dealerships or banks. We do not only submit credit information to one or two banks because it creates the appearance that we are selectively submitting certain classes of individuals to only one or two lenders, while submitting others to more lenders. This is deemed as stereotyping and discrimination by the CFPB if it is a recurring pattern - these are definitely not values we wish to employ in dealing with our customers. I hope this helps shed some light upon the “why” behind the “what.” I understand you view it as a negative experience to have your credit submitted to 3-4 banks, but it is a more than common and highly ethical practice at every single dealership, mortgage office, and any loan department.

This is obviously Caleb. I wish you nothing but karma sir. I don’t believe you even read my last comment or most of anything I’ve said. So many issues but you seem to be focused on one and only one of the issues I’ve stated. You will never steer from your own views and have no business being a manager. You do no wrong in your eyes apparently. This is getting nowhere and has only fueled my anger towards this terrible establishment. I will submit a letter to corporate. I cannot believe you censored my post just because you did not like it. From the moment you walk in the doors you can feel you are treated differently being a woman. MISOGYNISTIC is EXACTLY the word people need to know about you. DO NOT edit it again.
