Thank you for the review. I value your feedback and can understand your frustration. The reason the trade number decreased is because the vehicle was damaged. The damage was not disclosed to us during the initial sight unseen appraisal. Once pictures were sent, the damage was noticed and the value of the trade was adjusted accordingly. Had we been made aware of the damage to the vehicle at the time of the initial sight unseen appraisal, the proper value of the trade would have been established and it would have been a non issue. The next problem we encountered (the night before delivery was supposed to take place) was that one of the parties that was to be a co-owner of the Crosstrek, was not going to be home in order to sign the paperwork. When purchasing and titling a vehicle we need signatures from both parties in order to have a valid transaction. Being that you are located over a hour away from our store and we were bringing the Crosstrek to your home to finalize the purchase, I was not comfortable with this and decided to halt the sale of the vehicle. Had I been at the store that evening I would have made the call myself to explain my position and why the decision was made to not sell you a car. I was planning on calling the next day to explain my decision. However, before I had a chance to call I received a voicemail from your husband. The voicemail said (amongst other things) that he was going to "reach as many people as he could, to tell them that our business practices are deceptive and shady at best" and that he would do "everything in his power make our customer base decrease in the future"... This further validated my decision. He also concluded the voicemail by saying that he did not want a call back from me. So I complied and did not return his call. I am happy to hear that you found another car to purchase and that you had a better experience. I do not take this review personally, this is a business and I made a decision that I felt was best for our business. The threat of a 'bad review" did play into the decision as well. Our team does the right things on a daily basis and treats our customers with respect and honesty. We have completed hundreds of "contactless" sales over the last few years without issues. Our customers love us and we love them. We are also very active in our local community and do everything we can in order to help it thrive. It is unfortunate that this transaction ended unsatisfactorily for both of us and you will not be among our large extended family of satisfied Annapolis Subaru drivers. Enjoy you new car!
