Made sense to me and we agreed and paid the deposit. Fast forward to 2025, we get a call that our vehicle is finally in. Got to the dealership, had a chance to look at the vehicle, and we’re excited that the wait was finally over. Went to the finance manager’s office and he printed the invoice… surprise, the final bill is 10% more than the all in price on Toyota.ca. Questioned them on this and they went back “to their manager”. At this point, it was obvious we were in the process of being messed around with. Salesperson came back with a new price, still around 5% above Toyota.ca and claimed that I had agreed to this markup back in 2023 (the paperwork showed a “placeholder” price of $55k in 2023, and a quick google search shows MSRP was $54k+ at that time, so basically bang on MSRP). If that was truly the intent, wouldn’t we have written MSRP + $x on the original document? I was done being played for a fool, so asked for my deposit back and left. Pretty unbelievable to hold someone’s money for 2 years and then try to screw them over. Pure greed and lack of integrity. More
It took a few months for the RAV4 to get in but the wait was worth it for the color. Isaac was open, to the point and straight forward when discussing price, features and specs regarding the RAV4 we needed. was worth it for the color. It was good but didn’t get a car wash. Every other Toyota dealer always washes my car I’ve been to that was a little disappointing. I took my 2022 GR Supra in for its last service of the year. It was supposed to be a routine oil change but since there was a recall for a software update they were going to do while it was there. Left th year. It was supposed to be a routine oil change but since there was a recall for a software update they were going to do while it was there. Left the car there for the better part of the day as they told me that it was going to be done in the afternoon. I get a call in the afternoon saying that they weren't able to get to the update so they were going to keep it overnight and I said "sure". The next day I get a call saying that "Something" went wrong with the software update and the ECU was done, the car wouldn't start, move, turn on or nothing. They said that they will order a new ECU but they don't a have a timeline on when it will arrive. At this point I was mad because 2 days later I was going to be out of the country for about 10 days and didn't like having my car sitting at the shop. I asked for them to give me updates on things, to keep me informed. During those 10 days not a single email was sent to me, it had to be me reaching out to them and their standard response was "we'll let you know, when we know". To me that is not something you tell to your customers. At least call them to apologize for the inconvenience, offer a loaner car. My wife was in the market for a new 7-seater SUV, could've offered that to perhaps turn this into a sale opportunity but they didn't offer that. 1 week later I called Toyota Canada to informed them of my situation and they told me that my case manager will get back to me. 2 weeks later did not hear back from the case manager or South Pointe. Called the dealership and received the same answer "We'll let you know when we know." At this point they've had the car for 4 weeks that I could've been driving it around town as the weather was beautiful for a car like that. 2 weeks after that I call Toyota Canada and I asked to no longer speak to the case manager as she was useless and asked to speak to her manager but I was told the "Manager does not speak to customers" which again its ridiculous when Toyota clearly messed this whole thing up. While on the phone I was trying to explain to them that I wanted to get a guaranteed from Toyota that if there was anything wrong with the ECU in the future that Toyota will look after it which I don't think is unreasonable and not to mentioned the girl at customer service was rude and condescending, "too bad so sad" attitude. The car was basically going to go from the dealership straight to my garage as it needed to be put away for the winter and I wasn't going to be able to drive it and really see if everything was good with it. A couple of days later I get a call saying that the car will be ready in the afternoon and if I wanted them to do the cabin filter while it was accessible for $45. Like really? Can't even throw a cabin filter in for this whole ordeal. I declined and just ask for my car back. 1 week later I get a call from Toyota Canada where someone finally said sorry for the inconvenience and were hoping to "gain my business again" . I then asked "well what are you going to do for me to gain it back?" and they said "there is nothing I can offer you right now but let me get back to you". 2 weeks after that I get a call saying that they aren't willing to do anything but hope to see me again. Are you serious?!..This is really surprising that South Pointe Toyota and Toyota Canada handled the situation this way, no one wanted to take accountability. More
Bought a new Rav 4 Premium edition that was picked up at end of February, which included "Free Lifetime Oil & Filter Change". Went for my FIRST oil change yesterday, and was told to pay $80 or I could have end of February, which included "Free Lifetime Oil & Filter Change". Went for my FIRST oil change yesterday, and was told to pay $80 or I could have the oil change for free if I spent over $200 on an inspection. This is a NEW vehicle and I don't need an inspection of y brakes, etc. We told the service rep. that we were promised free oil changes, and he said only if we pay over $200 for an inspection. It is not stated in the purchase agreement, nor did the salesperson state that free oil changes are only if you spend hundreds on an inspection. More
