I went with my Mother-in-Law to Lexus of Pembroke Pines (Florida) to purchase the car we have been leasing for her for the last three years. We had requested the buyout price and were told it was $28,984.4 (Florida) to purchase the car we have been leasing for her for the last three years. We had requested the buyout price and were told it was $28,984.45. At the dealership, this cost was also confirmed to me. I was then given a reconciliation of all costs, which included Government fees and taxes. The total cost came to $32,469.40. When I added up all the line items on the reconciliation I was provided, the numbers did not add up to the total. I was told that there was a "Dealer Fee" of $799 included, but not shown. I showed the Finance Manager the lease agreement that outlined all the charges I would incur if I purchased the vehicle and there was no mention of a "Dealer Fee." He said that was the agreement with Lexus and not the dealership. I asked if I could purchase the car from another Lexus Dealership and was told that was not possible. Not only was there never any disclosure of this fee, they didn't even disclose it on the reconciliation. This is a classic example of a hidden charge and is unethical and should be illegal. I expected more from a brand like Lexus and won't do business here again. More
