I'm really disappointed in Toyota of Des Moines for trying to diagnose the Rav4 and not finding anything wrong with it despite telling them it's the AC compressor. I ended up being charged $233.69 for trying to diagnose the Rav4 and not finding anything wrong with it despite telling them it's the AC compressor. I ended up being charged $233.69 for nothing . I took it to a local shop Automotive Engineering and they were able to test the AC compressor and it failed, successfully diagnosing it and finding the problem. They were going to charge me $1,960.08 however they worked with my Service Contact aka Extended Warranty. The extended warranty sent their own inspector and Automotive Engineering was able to prove to them that the ac compressor was the problem. They approved it and I only had to pay $270.60 and the difference was paid to the shop by the Extended Warranty. I've been taking my Rav4 to Toyota of Des Moines for oil changes since 2021 and looks like I won't be taking it there anymore. More

I’m not happy about the bill. But Ian didn’t take it personally. I came in for oil change and tire rotation as well.
